I have used Marlton Computer Services several times in the past, but after my most recent experience and the way the owner handled my complaint, I cannot recommend this company. I contacted the owner and clearly explained BEFORE the service call that I had an older Apple Mac desktop and that, following changes to Microsoft 365, I could no longer use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook. Knowing that I had a Mac and knowing the nature of the problem, the owner scheduled a technician to come to my office at $110 per hour, plus a $49 service-call fee and travel expenses. The technician spent more than two hours attempting to fix the problem before admitting that he was not sufficiently familiar with Mac computers to resolve it. My computer then had to be taken back to their service center so that someone else could work on it. What I find particularly unacceptable is that the owner subsequently acknowledged to me that he should have sent a technician who specialized in Macs. That is exactly the issue. I disclosed from the beginning that this was a Mac. The company--not the customer--decided which technician to send. I do not believe a customer should be expected to pay for a technician who admittedly did not have the expertise required for the computer he was sent to service. An experienced Mac technician should also have been able to determine relatively quickly whether my older Mac and operating system were compatible with the current version of Microsoft 365. Instead, I incurred hours of charges without the original problem being resolved. Before writing this review, I contacted the owner directly and gave him an opportunity to resolve the matter. I asked that the service charges be refunded, less the cost of the wireless mouse I purchased and kept. He refused. What makes this especially disappointing is that I was a repeat customer. I would have continued using Marlton Computer Services in the future had the owner simply taken responsibility for sending a technician who was not qualified to handle the Mac issue. A good business relationship isn't defined by whether a mistake is ever made; it's defined by how the business responds when the mistake is brought to its attention. Businesses make mistakes. Good businesses acknowledge them, make things right, and preserve the customer's trust. In this situation, the owner acknowledged that a Mac-qualified technician should have been sent, yet still expected me to pay for the time spent by the technician who lacked that expertise. In my opinion, that is poor customer service and a very shortsighted way to treat a repeat customer. The company has now lost a customer who had used them several times in the past--not because a mistake was made, but because of the way the owner chose to handle that mistake. Based on my experience, I will not use Marlton Computer Services again and cannot recommend them to others. read more

I brought my computer in to be checked out. I wasn't sure if I needed to buy a new one or if this one could be "fixed". It was so slow! I was asked questions about what I used the computer for, how much storage I needed, etc. I was told that I could have it updated and cleaned for so much less than what a new computer would cost. I had it back from being serviced in just one day! The guys at Marlton Computer were very low-pressure. They did not try to sell me a new computer when they knew they could make the one I had like new again. I now have a computer that is FAST and works like a brand new one. AMAZING service!! I cannot say enough positive things about Marlton Computers. My PC was stuck in the automatic repair loop and was most concerned about my files. I called right when they opened, and they said I could bring it over right away. Within probably an hour, they told me they were able to save all of my files and were going to fix the operating system next. Within 24 hours, my computer was ready for pickup! They even moved my bookmarks over from Chrome :) They setup a File History setting so that from now on my computer automatically backups files to the external hard drive. They brought my computer out to my car for me! Very reasonable in terms of pricing. Highly recommend! They were referred by a friend and I gave them the job. My hard drive crashed mechanically and they didn't hesitate to refer me to a data recovery firm that was excellent. Marlton Computer removed the drive boxed it for me for Fedex shipment all without charge. I just got my data back on a flash drive with less than 2% data loss and received a 10% discount because of Marlton's referral. You get 5 stars for great service that you provided. I was referred to them from one of their happy customers. I have a home based business and am not technically savvy in least. I needed up upgrade to Windows 10 and transfer my data to the new computer. Jerome assured me that everything would go smoothly and it did exactly that. Tried to start my 2014 computer on Wednesday evening and it would not turn on. Tried every online suggestion for the make & model to no avail. Called manufacturer and had them talk me through all of their suggestions and still no luck. Went to Best Buy with everything in hand and their option was to send out for service which would likely take 3-4 weeks minimum. Found Jerome at Marlton Computer and I had a solution the next day in less than 24 hours. He offered several options and we went with getting a better reconditioned brand that he was able to set up with all of our documents, music, pictures, etc. He also spent an additional hour showing my husband & me great tips, suggestions and information on how we can get the most out of the system. I've used Marlton Computer twice for myself (2 different computers) and twice for my boss ... Yes, for my boss. My son was away at college and dropped his lap-top on his way to class. Broken screen, plus. With only 2 weeks left to school (and 500 miles away) he took it to a local shop. 2 weeks later, after finals, he comes home and leaves the computer at the shop. They got the wrong part and can't get the right one to fix it in a timely manor ... so they FEDEX the still broken lap-top back to my son. My wife dropped off her laptop with a new screen to replace the cracked original. She was quoted a price of $129.00 for the job. Some hours later, we received a call saying that the job would be $195.00 due to the motherboard needing to be removed. It was late on a Friday and we wanted the laptop back, so we paid it. The extra 70 bucks is not the issue. The issue was the bait and switch tactic. Why did they not know that the motherboard needed to be removed? They did, but they got us in the store by quoting a lower price. For some reason, they felt the need to show us photos of how difficult the job was, even though we did not utter a single word of complaint. The guy at the desk also felt the need to tell us a "black" person walked off with his last cell phone when he left it on the counter. Contacted these guys to do a re-paste on my high end gaming laptop's CPU and dual GPUs to correct overheating issues. I requested a new product called Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Liquid Metal for the CPU. They didn't have it in stock at the store, however, they were able to order exactly what I wanted and they still had my laptop back in my hands within 2 business days. Max Temperatures when overclocked to 4.0 on all 4 cores while benchmarking/stresstesting is now 75c down from 95c! No more thermal throttling and now I get to use my computers processor to it's fullest potential. Fantastic Work. They also did a great job keeping me updated with the status of my laptop.
