Paul and company will take great care of you. If you're not a dbag they will take time to show you awesome stuff on top of being able to pull some technical rabbits out of their collective hat. I remember back in the day Gene showing me really cool stuff like Raspberry Pi and fun ways to use them. They are close to where i live and they have even (after removing the old drives) recycled old laptops for members of the community who have less. That's actually not as important to me as my computers for my business,, It's a shame I met the Owner seemed like a nice guy turned out to be totally fake.. Yes he fixed a few of the computers and the problems took twice as long as I was told and 3 times as much money.. The only reason they make money is because there's not many places in that particular area..when I Paid I actually talk to one employee they know what their doing the problem is the Owner doesn't care about anything but the money coming in.. You could actually judge by the building doesn't look like a computer store to me... I would suggest taking a drive to somewhere with somebody who cares about people.. Not just money read more

Forget the other reviews, these guys are great. Built me a brand new top-spec machine from scratch. This thing powers on in less than 5 seconds and can handle anything I throw at it without blinking. Spent just over $1000, and got components that would have cost me at least three times as much. Have been using this beast for a few months now, and I couldn't be happier. On top of that I call in and they can remote onto my computer to fix any issue right away. The other reviews might have been flukes. I'm local and we all use these guys. They never discussed cost of repair or time necessary for work to be performed at laptop dropoff. They list Saturday hours but are closed on Saturdays. Explanation of work performed was vague and questionable. A bad experience overall. Stay away. read more

I went here to get my laptop repaired. The screen was cracked, and a fan stopped working, so I didn't expect it to be too much of a problem. It was only about a year old and I had paid $600 for it. I was quoted a price of $300 which was a bit high, but I agreed anyhow and was told it was to be finished in "a few days". I dropped it off on a Friday and the following week I received a call that the screen repair would cost a little more, but they quoted a lower price than what they initially told me. A few days after that they called again and said that the fan didn't have to be replaced, so it would be cheaper, but somehow they quoted a price which was higher than what the initial replacement quote was anyway. When I asked why, I was told that they had to take the motherboard out to fix it, which didn't make much sense. They also apparently had no clue about what the initial quote was. The second week went by without any calls at all. I called on Friday and asked about it, and they told me they had an error message and couldn't get it to boot up. They said that they asked in a few forums and couldn't figure it out. They admitted to damaging the motherboard while doing the fan repair, but wanted to sell me a new computer with $200 off to settle it and would transfer the data for free. After that, I didn't want those clowns touching anything, and I didn't want a computer from them, so I just asked for the $200. This was a problem. They then offered to replace the motherboard for free which was stupid. Wouldn't that cost more than simply paying me the cash? The guy had to ask his manager, but eventually paid me. I was handed back the computer disassembled in pieces and left. Don't think anyone should go there. read more

I dropped off my laptop at The Computer Specialist on May 11, 2018 for specific repairs. Not hearing from anyone for days, I called the store five different times for an update. The response was either the technician hadn't begun working or was currently working on it, but my questions were not being specifically answered: How long was it going to take? How much was it going to cost? When will the laptop be ready? Finally I got an e-mail on May 21, telling me the total cost for parts but did not give me a reasonable amount of time to perform the work, and the cost was going to be $65 an hour. So, what was I supposed to think? 5 hours? 10 hours? How much was this going to ultimately cost me? The next day, I asked them if they could repair one part of the laptop, and the response was the store could order the part which would come by the end of the week and begin working on it next week. I was like, "Why didn't you do this already 10 days ago????" Having had enough, I decided to get my laptop back with no work done and was given a bill for $25 for "diagnostic fee," which was never disclosed to me upfront in person or e-mail. Overall, my laptop was in the shop for 11 days, no work was ever performed, and I was not given answers to specific questions, and as a result, I lost over two thousands of dollars in potential profits because certain programs in my laptop were needed to perform the work for my business. Now, I foresee this place going out of business one day, and everything I've said in my review is 100% accurate, so don't be surprised when a representative of the store posts a response to discredit some or all of my claims. read more
