I gathered that some people are picky about their food touching, so he wanted to know if I was okay that the gravy may touch my eggs and potatoes. Servers, cooks, and chefs usually never confer with diners to inquire about peeves like food touching, so it was a bonus as service goes. On to the pancakes, you really don't need syrup. The pancakes are butter and lightly sweetened. For anyone who has had Johnny cakes, the pancakes are reminiscent of those but without cornmeal. The other thing about the pancakes was that they held heat instead of getting cold immediately. Some people may rattle off how some other place or how their own pancakes are the best in the world.
