That's the way to run a business.

I have been going to Design One Salon off Plainfield consistently for a year now, and love it. I…read moreget my nails done by Shannon and she is EXTREMELY talented. Not only is she detail oriented and friendly, but she is also knowledgeable of the products she uses on all clients. I think this speaks volumes to the spa because if my nail tech can speak about the product it makes me more comfortable about what is being put onto my body. The physical space is well kept and clean, and I have not felt worried about catching a foot fungus from the tubs (I know that's a thing at other spaces). The only downside is scheduling, I feel like Design One is a bit understaffed unfortunately, so getting in can be a challenge. I always try to book far in advance to make sure I get what I need. Although, I know they do sometimes have walk in appointments. Other services offered here include hair cuts, make up, and massages. I have not gotten my hair or make up done here, but I have gotten a few massages. The spa portion is very calm, and I think they do a decent job with the services. The price is usually my hang up, so that's why I haven't gotten many massages. Overall a 4/5 stars for this spa. (Shannon is a 100000+/5 stars)

This review is for receptionist/management. I had a failed re-shellac manicure Wednesday, the…read morepolish was peeling off my nails within a few hours after my appointment, and I realized it wasn't hardened, it was rubbery. I reported this. Got a call a couple hours later. My phone says it lasted only 2 minutes. During the two minutes I was interrupted and informed 6-7 times that the technician was very upset, she was very upset, apparently very very upset. I actually started to apologize. What?! I had a $50 failed manicure. A brief apology from THEM to ME, and a refund was all that was required. Pulling me into staff drama was highly unprofessional and inappropriate. How or why management selected to inform the technician re the manicure in a way that upset her so badly is entirely their fault/responsibility.

I've had the same person cutting my hair every month for the past 7 years, and finding someone you can trust is hard. I knew I needed to find someone in the area, and I knew I wanted an Aveda Salon. A couple of Google searches and Acquario was one of the places at the top of my list. What tipped them over the top was the online booking capabilities. I booked an appointment online with Sydney and had my cut last night. Both Sydney and the person working the front desk were extremely nice and friendly; offered me tea/coffee/water, took my coat, etc. and made me feel welcome. Sydney introduced herself and after a quick consultation, she got right to work, starting with a relaxing scalp massage. Throughout the cut, Sydney was extremely professional and efficient. She asked for my preference in shampoo and styling gel (I don't like the men's line Aveda has) and used all of my favorites. I'll definitely book again with Sydney based on my experience yesterday.

Linda is a true professional, and does amazing work. She based my make up off of my usual go-to look, but a million times better. She takes her time and makes sure you're happy with the results. She did my bridal party's make up too and they were more than thrilled with how they looked! She came to our house, which was so convenient. I never thought I'd be able to afford a make up artist, but her prices are really competitive. It is SO worth spending a few extra dollars to have the professional make up look. I got the airbrush foundation, and it hid my acne and oily skin. It lasted all day through pictures, sweat, and dancing. Linda made us all look beautiful. And my college student bridesmaids could easily afford it! Thank you so much!

Jenna does some type of black magic - the lift looks so beautiful for long past the 8 weeks it should. My lashes always look so long and I've had many with no damage to my natural lashes. Jenna is equally as talented at lash extensions - as my style has changed throughout the years, she's changed up my lash sets from dramatic doll eyes, to long wispy cat eyes, trendy wet sets, and even switching up the color of the extensions to suit my hair color and tan (or complete lack of tan). I am stunned every time I get up from the lash bed! Extensions give me so much confidence, and Jenna is truly an artist in every sense of the word. I get so many compliments on my lashes - they're the ultimate confidence booster. Her new studio is so beautiful and calming!
