A Truly Exceptional Contractor -- Valiant Contracting Earned My Full Trust!…read more A backed‑up sewer drain forced me into a complete bathroom gut and remodel -- the kind of nightmare project no homeowner ever wants to face. From the moment Valiant Contracting stepped in, the stress lifted. Their quote process was straightforward and refreshingly honest, with no fluff, no pressure, and no surprises. What set them apart was the control they gave me at every stage. I chose every fixture, every material, and even where each item was purchased. Zach, Aaron, and Justin treated my home with respect from day one. They were consistently polite, considerate, and professional -- the kind of crew you don't mind having in your house. The workmanship was outstanding. They moved quickly without cutting corners, and the final result looks and feels like a high‑end custom build. Even after we decided to replumb the shower and a sink to PEX -- a smart recommendation from Zach -- the total cost still came in far below the other quotes I received. Valiant Contracting is the rare company that takes real pride in their craft, and it shows in every detail of the finished bathroom. I recommend them without hesitation or equivocation. If you want a contractor who communicates clearly, works efficiently, and delivers exceptional quality at a fair price, this is the team you want on your project.

I am an 89 year old woman with Leukemia who needed an additional handrail from my living room to my…read morebasement for safety. I searched YELP for a handyman service who could help me. I contacted Swegles Quality Handyman Service through YELP for a quote. A Matt Swegle came out July 9th, 2026 to measure and check the job out. I told Mr. Swegle that Barry County Lumber, the local lumber and hardware store, had the railing I wanted for $90 plus wall fasteners. At no time during my interactions with Mr. Swegle did I say I wanted the 'cheapest railing available.' I said that I wanted a "matching railing with the one I already had installed." Mr. Swegle quoted $365.00 for the job. I had no other quotes for the railing and installation, but I told Mr. Swegle that I considered that quote very high for the work. After Mr. Swegle's employee finished the work, I was surprised and upset to discover an unfinished dowel rod railing installed which did not match the other railing at all. I contacted Mr. Swegle and asked when they were coming to varnish the handrail and finish the job. Mr. Swegle became very angry and proceeded to scream at me over the phone that "You asked for the cheapest!" At no time did I say the words "the cheapest" in regards to the railing. I had asked for "a matching railing" After telling Mr. Swegle this, I was told it would be an additional $50-$100 to return to finish the job and varnish the railing.

Liar, says he's an HONEST handyman & doesn't add on to his original quote like the others do. But…read morewhen he gets into the job & finds out the real problem, He acts like his original estimate is correct & doesn't accept responsibility for his misdiagnosis. If I'd known the real problem, I would've paid a little extra to have it fixed correctly. But Mike charged me for the original quote & didn't explain that he'd made a mistake. So we still have the exact same leak we had before Mike charged us $3,430 for a leak proof basement (an airtight seal was promised in our original estimate. He said there'd be an apocalypse or the world would end before water leaked into the basement after his fix), & he claims now that we should've gotten a new door "like he suggested". He really said that we would eventually need to change our door. He didn't say, after getting into the problem, that the door was actually the cause of the leak, because our front door was beginning to rot, from the original owners trying to hide the leak in our basement. He just acted like that was a separate problem. Once the leak came back (in the same exact places & the same intensity), Mike wants to claim ignorance ("oh I said once I got under the porch that you need to change your door, but you didn't want to"). Total BS. He's a scammer!!!!I And I've given him weeks to actually be an honest person & fix the problem. So now we have to sue him to get our money back & report him to the BBB with proof of the real fix to our leak & his promises in our original quote. Don't fall his nice guy act!
