I really didn't know what to say to say to that so that was the end of the conversation. Are they so sure that their prices are so unrealistic that why bother to even try? "Don't you know who we are?!" he said, like they are some sort of celebrity. "Don't you know our reputation?!" I just told him we were done and asked him to leave. We didn't even make it through everything we wanted to have done. Apparently he assumed we couldn't afford the work or realized that since we'd already had other estimates done he wasn't going to be able to talk us into unnecessary work. When we requested that they then come on site to complete the work, we engaged in a torturous months-long complicated string of communications where the professional would come out, do a bit of work, and then disappear. Scheduling was a nightmare, we could not get him out for weeks and months at a time. Suddenly some of the electrical items in the home stopped working altogether, making us very concerned that the original assessment of safety of the home was inadequate. We spoke to Shouldice then, directly, and they were very accommodating in sending a different professional out, immediately, to review the work and make additional recommendations, which turned a terrible experience into something we felt much better about. Fast forward more than a month later to Shouldice insisting that additional payment was owed for the review of the work. I politely requested reconsideration, at which point a Shouldice representative that I had never spoken with shouted at me, interrupted me repeatedly and accused me of trying to "get out of the bill" and demanding that I discuss it in person with him and the two professionals (one of which was obviously now aware that I had complained about the process) if I wanted anything rectified. Truthfully, the additional charge wasn't significant enough to warrant this harassment, so I paid it. The whole experience was atrocious, a little bit scary and tremendously disappointing. After all of this, there are still items on the list that were never completed! Steer clear.
