American Home Shield approved his bid ($10) less than the other company. He came out IMMEDIATELY to get the cash down payment (~$500). Scheduled work for two days later and then no answer - we are now two weeks later. Don't fall for the 5 star reviews - the "customer" has only reviewed one company, when all the rest are 1 star (No need to overthink it). He doesn't answer, respond to text, or communicates at all. He makes excuses and places blame on AHS. AHS said that he qualifies for them despite the reviews. Hopefully that changes. Last thing he texted me was "my work will speak for itself" It sure has. Similar experience to some others. He came out to do part 1 of the job. Paid him cash. He never came back to finish it. He is claiming that he doesn't remember me. He showed up on Labor Day 2024 to begin a dresser repair. He said he would be out to buff out the spot and finished the job. Never happened. I tried texting him several times with no response. Cashed service call check. Kept the replacement part for himself (warranty part) and never returned to complete job. I had to then turn around and get yet another service repairman to come out, at another service call cost, to get a diagnosis so I could get the job finished. Sent an inquiry to a few people through Yelp about a small window project. Guy was the first to respond and came out that day (which was a weekend). He was able to fix our window, buying us a couple more years before we need to entirely replace it. His prices are super fair as well. read more

Pettit Construction LLC. was contacted by American Home Shield(who I am a member of, so yes I pay for membership and coverage) to fix/repair my back porch deck roof. He came out, did an estimate, contacted AHS as to what the estimate was. Estimate was approved. He texted me that it was approved and that he would need to come over and pick up $500 to fully schedule and to ""knock it out possibly this weekend, if possible"" this was the weekend of Memorial day weekend. When he ""collected"" the $500, we agreed for him to start after the weekend. On Friday I texted him for the receipt for my records. Did not hear from him, nothing. So Wednesday May 28, 2025 was supposed to be his start date. I waited till about 2:30 and no show. Texted him "what is going on, haven't heard from you". That was the last contact. I called AHS on Saturday to report this contractor. And they informed me that he contacted them and my appointment was on Wednesday June 4, 2025. I informed them that the contractor never contacted me about said schedule. So I informed them I would wait. I'M STILL WAITING. So called date scheduled, ANOTHER NO SHOW, NO CONTACT/CALL OR TEXT. Seems to me he has a bad habit of not fulfilling contractual agreements. And seems to blame others for his bad behaviors. So when you read this Guy, this is on you. You never returned any calls or text, you've been to my home so you know where I reside, you've never started anything. EXCEPT COLLECT MONIES AND NOT DO ANYTHING? This was all started in May 22, 2025. Job not completed, NOT EVEN STARTED. and it's June 7, 2025. I've archived any and all communications you initiated with me and with American Home Shield. Your dispatch number, your agreements to do a job. And you ignoring AHS emails and calls about meeting your agreement with them and with myself. Seems this is your scheme. Take the money and run, put the blame on others(as read in other people's reviews of your so called business). If this is how you do business, I wouldn't recommend you to change a light bulb. read more

He came to our home to give us an estimate. Required a deposit that he said would be applied to the final bill. Stated he would send us the estimate and we requested a receipt for the deposit and have seen either yet. It's been a week. He rescheduled his original start day but would not respond when we reached out to him. THEN when he saw his negative review, he decides to respond and basically says "too bad. deposit was non refundable" We are taking legal action. read more
