For starters, Miller And Sons came out to install a new water heater. they sent out the wrong…read morewater heater (3) times. I had a 30 gallon water heater and after the third water heater (and only when I wasn't at the house) they snuck in a 20 gallon. The water heater was supposed to be installed on a weekday as promised, but was installed on a Saturday, and then I was charged a weekend rate of $100 more. The water heater has had two heating elements installed since I purchased it, the 1st one within months of being installed and Miller and Sons refused to honor the warranty claiming I probably had hard water even though they never came out to check the unit. I tried to work it out with one of the owners Ashley who was rude, talked over top of me and refused to be reasonable in anyway. She even insisted that I never called for service. She had me call her on a private number because she was out of the office. Then she claimed I never called because they record all calls. I reminded her that she had me call her on a different number because she wasn't in her office. She then said she would never do that because all calls had to be recorded. I asked her why I would make that up when I had no hot water and needed immediate service! She said she couldn't remember because it was over a year and I had to understand that I wasn't her only customer with a problem. I had to call out a second company who informed me (after) checking the information on the water heater that I was sold a unit that is over 10 years old and not under warranty. I have tried several times to contact Miller and Sons but Ashley became hostile and continued to take no responsibility and refused to even have someone look at the unit claiming that even if I was under warranty that the service call to check the unit or any subsequent parts replacement were not part of their warranty. I begged her to simply give me what I paid for, a 30 gallon water heater...she informed me that although I ordered a 30 gallon, a 20 was installed because a new 30 gallon would not fit. I told her that the price of a 30 gallon was more than a 20 gallon and I was owed something. She said they were the same price. I looked them up...she is lying. Simply unconscionable for a business to act this way...she told me if I was unhappy I could always sue her and hung up. All I can say is...STEER clear of this business. They must have had an old water heater in their warehouse and figured I would never know the difference. My wife and I are old and on fixed incomes and when I told Ashley this she informed me that maybe I needed to get another job. I recommend anyone in need of a professional plumbing service to look around. The second company I called who told me about the bait and switch told me he always heard they were reputable, but some of their reviews say otherwise. Why did they send out 3 different water heaters if they know what they are doing? This is a terrible thing to do to old people and Miller and Sons should be ashamed of themselves.

I have used this company multiple times for both water heater and electrical work, and I want to be…read moreclear that the technicians and plumbers themselves have always been great. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with the office has been incredibly frustrating. After work was completed, it took close to SIX weeks for the office to take the necessary next steps to get the city inspection completed--something that normally should take a few days. The biggest issue wasn't simply the delay; it was the complete lack of communication. I was never proactively informed about what was happening or why there was a delay. I had to repeatedly call to get updates, and the explanation was consistently some variation of "we need paperwork" or "things behind the scenes are challenging." When the LOC paperwork was finally submitted--roughly three weeks after I had signed it--we were able to get the inspection completed. Unfortunately, I'm now experiencing another issue. I have been trying to get an answer regarding the company covering the water pipes connecting my home to the meter, and I have essentially been ghosted. I have called at least five times in the past week and each time I'm told that "the manager will reach out" or "we're waiting for the supervisor." Still no resolution and no meaningful communication. What makes this especially disappointing is that I had great experiences with this company previously. The people actually doing the work have been excellent, which is why I have continued to use and recommend the company. But good technicians cannot make up for an office that fails to communicate, follow up, and take ownership of issues after the work is completed. I'm extremely disappointed by the level of incompetence and lack of communication from the office/management during this process. I expected much better from a company I had previously had positive experiences with. I would not recommend you use there services.

The sales people do a 'write-up' of the installed components and suggest replacement systems or add-ons that are 'definitely needed to keep you family healthy', like UV mold inhibitors etc. My system was at the time only 2 years old, working fine, and I had only asked for a twice-a-year checkup. Lots of up-sale pressure, so-so maintenance. After the visit, several emails and texts with sales offers and reminders to react to their offers and more reminders 'why did we not hear from you - what's holding you back'.. I do not recommend the company.

I asked Patrick's to give me an estimate on installing six smoke detectors because the ones I had purchased were not compatible with what I had previously installed. I assumed that this was a small basic job. They quoted me at $300. When the electrician was here, I questioned the quote three times and all he could say was he didn't make the prices. I politely declined the service and did a little research on my own. It turned out that all I needed was an adapter that easily plugs into the old wiring input; a 12 pack of adaptors is $22 at Lowes. A difference between paying $22 and $300 is extreme. The man at Lowe's isn't even an electrician and he gave me this answer off the top of his head immediately. The electrician from Patrick should've known this information off the cuff. He should've been able to point this out to me but he didnt. Even after asking him about it three times all he did was shrug his shoulders and offer me a quote of $300. This made me question everything about this company. How can I trust a company if they're not willing to give me basic knowledge to avoid a hefty charge for something that it was completely unnecessary? I don't know if this electrician just didn't have that answer (which is unexplainable to me), or if he did have the answer and he failed to give it to me, hoping that I would pay $300 for it. Either way, because of this I won't be renewing with Patrick's service plans or doing business with them any further. This really disappointed me because I thought I had found a reliable and trustworthy company to do business with on a yearly basis including other small tasks like installing my new faucets, smoke detectors, and other things they offer. I'm glad I discovered this prior to paying them for anything. I'm also curious how many other customers out there are getting charged outrageous prices for unnecessary things. Being a successful company goes way beyond sales and numbers. It's about building trust with your customers and having your brand reflect reliability. That means having basic knowledge to offer your customers that will actually save the money instead of cost them. I can't explain this $300 quote. Had they mentioned these adapters I would've been willing to allow them to do such an easy thing that I could've done myself at a way more reasonable price for their time. The truth is, it ended up costing me $22 to install six smoke detectors - which took about 12 minutes of my own time. Anybody doing business with Patrick's needs to be aware of this? They should be asking questions doing their own research and back checking what prices and quotes they're getting and legitimate explanations they are given for that work. I do not recommend this company. I called afterwards and told them about this experience, and they didn't give me any impressive answer or response about it. If you're doing business with Patrick's, get a second opinion. Otherwise you might be paying hundreds of dollars out-of-pocket for things that cost you $22 to do on your own.
