I was all excited about the fish fry. I got the "blackened" or so they called it. After over an hour wait, the food arrived. Yuck. The blackened fish was swiming in water and with some sort of spice on top of the fish. I couldn't eat it. The fries tasted as though they were boiled with absolutely no crisp to them. The waitress said the fish was baked with spices. Do an AI search for blackened and it tells you its placed in an extremely hot pan for a few minutes and not baked. Came here with a group of 7 for lunch after boating on the lake all afternoon. We walked up right around 4pm and were quickly directed to one of the larger tables in the center of the dining room. Our server was very friendly and not at all bothered by the larger size of our party. We ordered quickly and the food was out within 15 minutes. My bf and I split an order of 10 wings and the stuffed jumbo shrimp that comes with two sides. We asked to mix the buffalo and garlic sauces and the sever brought out buffalo garlic parm, which we were more than ok with. The wings were crispy, but the sauce needed a little salt. The shrimp came out and were honestly smaller than we expected when we read "jumbo", but were still extremely delicious. It ended up being pretty filling with the two sides. We chose the rice pilaf and the mac and cheese. Both sides also needed some salt, but pretty good. The mac and cheese reminded me of a popular kind from the freezer section. The bathrooms were smaller, but clean. They have a ton of parking available directly out front and just slightly up the hill on the side of the building. This is a great place to enjoy a meal on the water. There is an outdoor patio with a separate menu that is all cooked over charcoal. The decor and ambiance really make you think you could be in a beach town somewhere. read more

We went to Marks Landing for the first time last Friday evening. It was very busy and we had to wait for someone to pull out of a parking space. Once inside though, we only waited approximately 10-15 minutes for a table. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our seats. The service was very good and our fish dinners were excellent. We were so very disappointed. First I will say that the wait staff was wonderful, the location had a great view, and the ambiance was waterfront cool. Wish there was more good to say. I'm starting with the lack of handicap accessibility. There were steps to every entrance. Our wheelchair user had to endure the indignity of being lifted. This is UNACCEPTABLE. A simple Amazon threshold ramp for under $300 would solve this problem. The outside was a great option for seating, except that smokers were everywhere. Definitely would not choose the out side for that reason. And finally. The food. 5/5 of us didn't like our food. 2/5 didn't eat any of it after tasting. One of us had a few bites. The meats (burger and steak) looked and tasted funky. The baked potatoes were gray and kind of seemed like they had been refrigerated for days and reheated. They were hard also. The breading on the fish was mushy; not crispy at all. The stuffed shrimp wasn't stuffed but rather just sat with some stuffing that tasted boxed, as did the rice pilaf. The very kind waitress removed a steak dinner from the bill without our requesting it. I hate to leave a bad review for a local place, but if nothing else, the accessibility issue must be remedied! read more

Blonde waitress with braces gave attitude from start to finish of service. Snarling at us. We were extra polite and said thank you for everything she handed us. We had a table of six. Sighing after giving refills For my very polite children. About fifty flies buzzing our faces heads and food upstairs. Not to even mention our jumbo chicken wings had blood dripping from them. Great view! Huge place. Lots of seating. Food and drinks are pretty good! Very affordable! Great service! But it doesn't look like anyone has cleaned or sprayed for a year. I wish I could leave a review but we never got any service! We were staying at the state park across the lake and we're looking forward to trying this restaurant. When we walked in we didn't know if we had to wait to be seated. There were 3 girls standing at the register. They just looked at us and continued talking to one another. We had to walk up to them and ask. One girl just looked at us and answer "Just seat yourself' no other response. We sat ourselves . The restaurant hardly had anyone inside. We sat there watching the waitresses who was still at the register. We sat there for 20 minutes before one of the girls came over and handed us menus and said our waitress was busy with another customer. Again the place pretty empty. Not even water offered. Don't even know if you could give a zero on this restaurant. Staying at the park across the lake and was told they were really great. The restaurant and the ambiance was really cute while we walked to it. Stood inside not sure how to proceed and no help was seen. Walked up to two young ladies and was told immediately to seat ourselves. We sat in the dining area and no one came to see us. Finally a young gal gave us menus and that was the last we seen anyone to assist us! We sat there for at least 20 minutes without any acknowledgement by the waitresses that kept passing us. This was my first visit to Mark's Landing. As I climbed the steps and entered the restaurant, my immediate reaction was positive. I noticed that there was seating both on the main floor and also in a loft area. One could also choose to eat in a outdoor patio. My server was prompt and courteous. I just ordered a sandwich and coke so I really did not sample the main menu. It was around 2:00 pm and I was just looking for a light lunch. The wide view out the front booth windows was excellent which sets Mark's Landing apart from most restaurants. Even for a weekday afternoon, there were more customers in the restaurant than I would have imagined. The eating area was well lit, very roomy and both the eating area and men's restroom very clean. If you are tired of city restaurants, Mark's Landing looks like a good change of pace. read more

I have gone here a few times over the course of ten years or so. Which means, several owners. Different menus. Changed staff. And I have enjoyed it every time. Most recently was on the way to Salem OHIO to eat at a place I like, but the weather was so nice, figured, why not. Change plans. Ho to Marks Landing. I was not disappointed at all. Me, the wife, and a couple of friends of ours. We all got something different, and we all enjoyed the dinners and appetizers. Now, to be honest, I did not like the clam chowder. Tasted like it had vinegar. And my wings were not the greatest. But I rolled the dice, and got the meal I deserved. Everyone else LOVED their food. And I am willing to let this one meal slip. The service is great. The prices are reasonable, meaning inexpensive. I just wish I hadn't gotten the clam chowder. Tasted like someone who just graduated from a cooking course who decided to take a chance, but it was a MAJOR fail. Everything else we all got was excellent. And every time I have eaten here, the food has been really good. So, one fail out of s half dozen visits. Pretty good. And the view overlooking the lake is great. I rev commend it for that alone. Amazingly close to Boardman and CANFIELD. If you have never been to Mark's Landing, then hit it up. Good food, friendly service, great prices. I strongly recommend it. We have been going here for several years. We usually end our Sunday motorcycle rides here. The food is pretty good but the service has been awful. This is not a one time thing. It had pretty much been the whole summer. The last time, we sat for about 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged. The server went to refill my water and didn't bring it back. When our food came, my fries were not cooked and the server never came by or even looked at us so I could tell her. On the plus side, they carry the wine coolers I like and they have really cold beer. Their fried provolone is excellent and their wings are big. read more

My husband and I stopped here midway on our motorcycle ride. It was a beautiful summer day, we sat outside, and watch the water and boats. All of the "help" were courteous, attentive and very nice. Megan was a dream with our table and their needs. And, our food was delivered FAST and DELICIOUS.
