Called Midland…read moreAutomotive; called Friday morning; made an appointment for this coming Monday for evaluation of problems caused by JiffyLube and ( hopefully, repairs ). What problems? JiffyLube on 72nd messed up the transmission with a mere transmission fluid change. The transmission now won't shift through the gears when starting / stopping. I have to manually shift. A few weeks ago JL replace the battery; now the engine struggles over a couple of minutes to start. "Convenience" at JL is expensive in terms of time & money. : /

After 2-3 hours of testing, the report says no leak is detected, and they "suspect" that "EVAP pump module has failed internally", so they need to replace my entire EVAP canister assembly with pump module =))), how absurd. And the whole thing cost $2k for a minor issue with code P0456. I called in and took my car home, while paying them $200 for diagnostic just to receive an unsure result. If this is a service you would want for your car in 2026 where there are so many better out there, please go ahead.

Bitterling's auto has been doing their best to figure out why my car will not start as there seems to be an unknown internal issue. Ik Bitterling's team has been communicating with carhop the difficulties n have been doing their part. I recommend this shop due to their efforts, and soon to be, hopefully a return on my vehicle with no more issues.

I DROVE my car into Bitterlings, approved $500 worth of work, then got 2 more calls about an additional $200, then $150 worth of work needed. $850 total. When I was told I'd be able to pick my car up, I got another call that a part had FALLEN OFF my engine and it is NO LONGER RUNNING, requiring an additional $1050 worth of work to get it running again, a total of $1900. The car was older and almost at 100k miles so the estimated necessary work total had exceeded the value of the car. They still REQUIRED THAT I PAID the $850, even though this work did nothing to fix the vehicle because it NOW WON'T START. I also, went by the shop on a Saturday (not realizing they were closed for the entire weekend) to find my car parked on their lot with the DOORS UNLOCKED and my personal belongings inside. I was lucky nothing was stolen because they have signs all over their office saying they are not responsible for stolen property - so had anything been stolen, it would have been my responsibility, not theirs for leaving my vehicle unlocked on their unfenced, not secure property while they were closed with no one on site for 63 hours. ---- I am upset with the service here because I feel like I was taken advantage of and price gouged instead of hearing from an experienced mechanic about the extent of the work needed to repair my car. I was never given a full picture of the damage my car had sustained, instead I was told small estimates at separate times totaling to a lot of money that never actually fixed the car. Keep in mind, this car was running when I brought it to them so I basically paid for them to break my car and ask for even more money to fix that. I got multiple calls and estimates throughout the day while they were working on my car: 1st call- I was told I was lucky that I only needed $500 worth of work,  2nd call - thermometer needed to be replaced $200, 3rd call - small repair for oil leak $150. After approving all of this work and the 3rd time I had talked to them, they mentioned that the timing chain was stretched but I was told that it DIDN'T NEED TO BE FIXED and I could pick my car up by the end of the day. As the end of the day approached, I called to ask about picking up my car. She called back to tell me that while THE MECHANIC WAS DRIVING MY CAR OUT FOR PICKUP, THE TIMING CHAIN HAD FALLEN OFF AND NOW THE CAR WILL NOT START! To fix this they estimated an additional $1050 of work ($1,900 total). I said no to the work because I wanted to do some research, as now the total of all the work already approved and required, exceeded the value of the vehicle. Moneeba called me multiple times the day after my car broke asking for a decision on doing the additional work but when I asked for the estimates in writing she could not provide anything in writing. Moneeba said THEY DON'T PROVIDE ESTIMATES IN WRITING therefore, I must write it down myself (which is actually against the law in Washington to not provide written estimates for work over $100). She said she would try to put an invoice together with the work I had approved but it took 2 days to finally get the repairs they had done in writing. Still no written estimate for the work required to get the car running again. When I came in to speak to Moneeba and discuss options, she was defensive and demanding that they had done nothing wrong. The only thing that she did to right the wrongs of her shop (and I doubt she would have had I not requested it) was due to the fact that I could no longer drive my car off the property -  was she didn't charge me to store my car on the lot past the week mark while I tried to sell it. I'd also like to point out that the old owner, Don, no longer owns this auto shop and most of these reviews are for the business he ran. Bitterling's is not accredited by the BBB. Save yourself the hassle and stress I went through and go somewhere else!

I took my 2500 duramax in here a few months ago to have new tires and rims placed on it. I asked if…read morethey were compatible to which they said yes. I get the tires replaced, they do an alignment and they pull my truck out, nearly an hour and a half longer than they told me it would be. Before I leave, I tell them that my TPMS isn't showing any readings. The guy tells me to drive it a few times and the sensors should restore. So I take his word and leave. Of course the sensors never restore and NOW I have an ABS error and a trailer break error as well as a shaking wheel when going above 50mph. So I call and make another appointment. They tell me that the ABS error and trailer brake error had nothing to do with them, but to bring it in and have it realigned. These errors have NEVER shown up until the moment they pulled it out of their garage for the first time. They look at it again and tell me that they reset the sensors and everything should be working fine, and that they've redone the alignment. Again, I leave the store without tire sensors working with the promise it will work after a few drives. Of course, the sensors never return but the alignment is better. I call once again and make another appointment. This time they tell me that the TPMS needs to be replaced, after I was told that everything was compatible on the first tire change. They tell me it's going to cost me another couple hundred to have the TPMs done. They did end up giving me a discount, so I had them install the TPMS anyway. As well as fixing the alignment for the THIRD time. Again, another 1.5 hours longer than they said. Finally, my TPMS works, my alignment is good, BUT my trailer brake system and ABS are still showing errors. I took it to another shop and it turns out they did break my sensors during install of the new tires and rims. WHICH THEY DENIED HAVING ANY PART OF. AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. They don't respect your time, they charge more than any shop in the area, and they deny when things are caused by them. I went in for a tire and rim replacement and ended up going in 3-4 times to have things redone. Take it to someone else. If you're a woman who drives a truck they'll treat you like you're incompetent. I've been told by other shops that they've stopped recommending this place because of their frequent unnecessary repairs, overcharging, and damaging vehicles.

They talked my wife into redoing brakes on my daughter's car, Nissan frontier. (I had just replaced…read morethem) , this they falsified needed repairs. then 3 days later the brake caliper feel off of the rear rotor coming off of the pass at vantage at the Columbia river. luckily no one died. they haven't accepted any responsibility for the shoddy workmanship. also they changed the oil and it was a quart low. when I checked it. this was in 3 days of their service. the truck doesn't burn any oil. A MILLION OUT OF TEN, DO RECOMMEND!…read more We've been having some car issues for a few months, and unfortunately, we've been screwed over at other local shops that have a) lied to us about actual issues to try and get us to pay more, b) have had insane prices. Normally I take to Yelp for everything (duh), but I decided to post in a local Facebook mom's group about our recent issues in search of a mechanic that is tried, true, and reliable. River City Repair was suggested by another local mom, and from there it was less than a WEEK that we had our car up and running with no shady business done. Mark, the owner, actually owns two tow trucks and was able to come tow my vehicle for an incredibly affordable price to the shop. Not only that, but they called me their next business day before 9am with a diagnosis and price. From approving the fixes to the car being ready (and there was a laundry list) it took 48 hours.... 48 HOURS! They worked incredibly fast for the work that needed to be done. And for 8 total things that needed to be fixed (a couple that were major and made it so we couldn't drive the car), we were out the door for parts and labor for less than $2,500. My husband was dumbfounded at their honesty and affordability after a year of dealing with car issues/shady businesses between the two of us. We were ready to throw in the towel and scrap the car and just buy something new even though we reallllly didn't want to, so I am SO glad I posted on that page and was introduced to River City Repair. I met Mark's wife, Tana, over Facebook and she was the one who put all of the gears into motion to get us scheduled to even offering a one-time free diagnostic to help out a local fellow mom. Mark personally drove the truck to pick our car up and he was such a kind, personable guy - even down to showing our two year old truck-obsessed son a few things on the tow truck (and totally making his day). Mark made a comment about his clients becoming like family, and I can TOTALLY see why. They're such great, honest people and this is the epitome of a small local business being a pillar in their community. Hands down we have found our go-to shop. My husband and I are in a bad way financially right now, and Tana has already secured my business with reassurance, kindness, and payment plan options for whatever we might need done. I think we can actually handle this! I am breathing much easier, and my shoulders are dropping. I didn't know that regulating one's nervous system could be done by an auto shop! O_O We reached out to RCR because of these positive reviews. They really help - write reviews, people! We are looking for a mechanic we can truly get behind and be loyal to. We also want to be able to wholeheartedly recommend to friends, family, and clients (I'm a mental health counselor and my clients are almost all struggling, too!). It is SUCH a thing, the treasure of finding an upstanding and authentic mechanic (and wife)! Communication is poor as I had to call them to hear updates. it is likely parts were not replaced that I paid for, and also they kept my extra parts.
