Mark's Feed Store is my 'go to' place for ribs and bbq. My ribs were cooked perfectly and the deep fried corn I had as my side was fantastic. My server was very friendly and efficient. I never had to ask for a refill on my drink and she checked back with me to make sure all was well. Lisa, the manager stopped by to say hi and make sure all was good. That was much appreciated. June 1, 2025 Today was our Lunch Bunch day from Good Shepherd Church to go to Mark's Feed Store in Fern Creek. I was so excited that we had 19 people eating together. I looked down the row and saw so many happy faces. Alicia was our Server and Lexi was her Trainee. The Manager at this location is Lisa. While we were waiting for everyone to arrive, Alicia and Lexi took our beverage orders. Their iced tea is so delicious! Then Alicia came back and started taking our lunch orders. There were so many items on their rather large menu. They have Pulled Pork, Brisket, Turkey, Chicken, Fish, and Wings. Most entrees included 1-2 sides. The prices on the entrees were pretty reasonably priced. It didn't take long before the food was coming out to the table. Everyone's orders were pretty much all brought out at the same time and it smelled so good! The food was fantastic , the wonderful servers were so nice to chat with, and there was no problem with the noise level in the restaurant. It's a very family oriented place. The food was very middle of the road. The pork was dry as shown in the photo. The loaded potato had more potato than toppings but was alright. The Mac and cheese was thick and it was cheddary which was a plus. Toast was really good and came with the meal. Also included some onions and pickles. The workers were really nice and polite. Just a quick update. This restaurant location is on Bardstown Road, in Fern Creek. Their long time manager, Lisa, does an outstanding job of dropping by tables and making all customers feel welcome. Today, for lunch, I tried the lemon pepper fish. A huge portion, very lightly coated and absolutely delicious as many others have recommended. Others in my party got the pulled chicken, grilled chicken salad, and turkey. Everyone loved what they got... The turkey sandwich had three huge slices of turkey, moist and tender as could be. We really like that this barbecue restaurant offers so many choices of sides. The loaded baked potato was very loaded. The sweet potato has all the ingredients to make it delicious, and if you don't like that they also have the cinnamon sugar and sweet potato fries. Heads up to all the yelpers!!! You have a code for a free slice of buttermilk pie. The best I have tasted. Great service, great food, and a super manager, Lisa!! Just finished my food. Literally the worst meal I have had in as long as I can remember. Feast was out of chicken so I decided to try Marks since I hadn't been there in a few years. Now I remember why. Ordered online and promptly picked up my food as I live close. Sides were literally cold. Not like room temp but actually chilly to the touch. The chicken was only edible when slathered in sauce because it was so dry. The muffin was dry and cold as well. I got onion straws and Mac n cheese. The onion straws, although cold, were decent but I only got a very small portion. Like a laughable amount to be considered one of my two sides dishes. The Mac n cheese was disgusting. Like Golden Corral levels of flavor. I'll never eat Marks again. Seriously. How these places stay in business are a mystery to me. Shameful. read more

I have been coming to this location since it opened and I absolutely love the food and staff. Everyone has always been so helpful and nice. Also if you come enough they will get to know you by name. My favorites are the ribs, sweet potato fries, corn on the Cobb, pulled chicken, potato salad and the brisket. You can't go wrong here and if you love ribs they have the absolute best in town! They have ample seating for big groups or quiet booths for a more intimate feel. Parking is around 3/4ths of the building and there are a lot of spots available. I love BBQ and there are so few choices in Louisville, I wanted this to be a good place when I moved here 18 months ago 1st visit the food was cold and service wasn't great but not horrible. Several months later we gave it a try again and service was great and food was hot and actually tasted pretty good so we gave it another go the other night and while service was ok, the food was lackluster. Ribs were warm but seemed "warmed up". Fries were hot and actually very good but other sides were room temp and just ok We left and literally before we got to the Snyder overpass headed home we were both having severe stomach cramps. We barely made it home before having an immediate need to be in the bathroom with explosive D. It put us down for the next day and a half and stomach still aren't 100%. The only thing we both had was ribs and corn on the cob - the Mexican street corn version. This place is inconsistent at best and after an episode of obvious food poisoning, we will not be back and Sad because as one of the few options for BBQ it could be a hit if managed properly read more

We had an amazing first time experience here! The food was great, the service was fast and the staff were super friendly. My 2 year old daughter doesn't sit in a lot of restaurants and behaves anymore, but this was the first time in a long time that she did! Although this Mark's Feed Store is completely out of my way, I do like how much bigger it is than the other locations. Also, it is a lot easier to park here. Mark's Feed Store is always a great place to grab some good wings/southern comfort food. I've been to this location multiple times and the service and food are always good. Although I wish they had an option for boneless, their honey wings are mouthwatering! The onion straws are a great appetizer, and it's pretty easy to get a coupon for a free basket of them (Can't remember if there's one through Yelp but I'm sure you can Google it.) Their BBQ sauce is another reason to come. They have different kinds like traditional and a Carolina gold-type, which is wonderful to slather over just about anything. We've eaten at this location several times, tried almost everything over time and have always had great experiences each and every time. My wife, my son and I have determined they have one of the best cheese burgers around. Infact my son, the cheese burger lover, only wants to get them here at Mark's. And that kid has ate them just about evey where. He gets the sweet potato fries with his while I opt for the season fries. Sunday offers a nice brunch with several items to choose from. No cheese burgers then, but hey, the fish and BBQ along with all the sides takes your mind off that burger real quick!! At each table you will find 3 different BBQ bottles that are exclusive to the Mark's chain. Also a roll of paper towels which comes in handy with the juicy burgers and BBQ every where!! For some reason I mistakenly thought this was just a BBQ restaurant. That have many options on the menu, including a black bean burger, which I ordered. The prices are affordable. The burger had a little kick at the end, which I like. It wasn't spicy. It was just a kick. I wasn't sure what to expect from the fried corn. It tasted just like sweet corn to me. Wow is all I can say! We don't normally go to Marks to eat. Burger week 2019 changed all that. Multiple people stated how good the burger was, so of course we caved in and gave them a try. They were stamp 4 for us I believe. Dinner is a busy time but there were several spaces open on the patio. I got the impression we were being swayed to not eat out there due to wait times. We enjoy the outside seating even in summer! Found a spot and actually had someone taking care of us in no time. We tried the pickles - they were ok nothing fabulous, kind of thin. But that's ok we weren't there to fill up on pickles. Our burgers came out and they were amazing! They were so delicious we were blown away. My husband had beer but I can't remember anything about it cause the burger was so damn good! We did get a free piece of pie - Yelp Special! - and it was sweet and ok. We don't normally eat pie so I can't really judge how it was. It was fine just not our thing. But we will be back for burgers! Really takes me a lot to leave a bad review...I've worked in kitchens my whole life and try my best to give places the benefit of the doubt. Things happen and I'm understanding, but this was completely avoidable. My order was placed incorrectly and when politely confronted about it they charged me $3 for the correct order when this was their mistake to begin with. When you sense during telephoning an order to someone named Amanda that she has had a bad day before she finishes taking your order.... it's not a good sign. When I arrived the cashier was pleasant but the register wasn't working and he had to make change with others pitching in their coins. When I got to the car I counted the change and chalked up the shortage as their tip! When I got the order home the baked potato must have been baked 24 hours early and was so bad and deep brown inside that it met a garbage quickly. We ate at this location after dropping my son off at Fern Creek High School before his Football Scrimmage game. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. The server took our orders and the food came out not too long after. All the food was wonderful!!! The service was great!! The portions were huge and we all had leftovers to take home with us. PS ...
