After 25 plus years in the garage, my beloved 1952 MG TD was in serious need of help. I had…read moreexpected it to be my retirement project but the restoration was beyond my ability. The issues were numerous and required a wide range of expertise to address. Just a few examples include the engine, which had seized, the upholstery, which had been completely destroyed by mice, the convertible top, which needed replacement, and the gas tank, which had rotted out. Enfield Auto Restoration is nearby and conveniently located for me. They were, therefore, an obvious first choice when searching for a restoration shop. I initially met with Ray, the owner, to discuss my car and get a tour. I was very impressed and actually amazed at some of the work they were doing. It was a complete shop that included separate areas for for such things as upholstery, paint, metal fabrication, and wood. One of the first things that they worked on was the gas tank, which on my car is on the exterior. They were able to cut out the bad area and weld in new metal that they had shaped to the original curved contour. In the end, it was a perfect job. My car remained there for the rest of the winter while they addressed the other issues, typically moving around in various sections of the shop. My MG is now back on the road and I'm very happy with the results, especially after all the years it spent in my garage. With regard to the billing, the bills typically came once a month by mail. Each bill included an itemized list of parts and materials, work performed, man hours and labor cost. In some cases, they also included photographs of the work. The billed hours always seemed reasonable for the work preformed. I also know that they keep careful track of the time spent on the job. Each technician clocks in and out on a computer when working on a particular car. I would recommend Enfield Auto Restoration. This is a friendly and honest shop. It is owned and operated by real car people. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention Rick, the shop manager. On more than one occasion, Rick exceeded my expectations when it came to customer service. Thanks Rick!

Can't say enough good things about this place and the people who own and work there. We were stranded with a tiny house atop a trailer that was in major disrepair and unroad-worthy. They could have taken advantage of that but no, not these people. They walked us through all our options, gave us accurate quotes, and got us safe and road worthy again at a fair price. If you are traveling through and get stranded too, trust me this is the place to go. Visiting with locals during our stay they too had nothing but wonderful things to say about this business.

I love my mechanic friends who are trying to make ends meet, but are without some of the aforementioned. All past services are greatly appreciated. To start, I did a Google Search for auto service establishments in my area. Baldwin happened to be closest (1/2 mile away) which is a great feature as going back and forth to drop off and pick up was always a past issue. The majority of the Google reviews were favorable, as so were the Yelp reviews. I sent a message to Baldwin via both of theses sights, and within minutes Anthony Baldwin responded. Next step was to visit without being in need. Just wanted to see the place and meet this mechanic. In doing so, I met the staff and also within minutes a regular customer arrived for an oil change. At this point I will express my satisfaction that transportation is available to your home or job. Since my "exploratory visit" ( less than 1 month) my 99 GMC Sonoma PU has been to Baldwin Auto for three jobs. All were completed in a very reasonable time frame, and at reasonable cost, each visit required transportation between my home and the shop. FYI, my truck is considered in good overall condition, but based on its age and the current weather conditions ran into need of TLC. I went there for two parts for my 2008 Saab. One was on back order in the Northeast (Saab dealers were unable to obtain the part). Guess what? They had it! I'm actually happy that my car broke down or I wouldn't have discovered this gem. This is now my goto store for used Saab parts, even though they're 40 miles away. They're new and definitely off the beaten path, but easy to find. Their prices are fantastic. They also have a small inventory of used cars.

Bob is a stand out guy who has nothing but passion for the service he provides for his customers…read more My car is old with high miles and typically when something goes wrong with it I bring it to Harvey Auto which is walking distance from me. The car got to the point from rust where Jim didn't feel comfortable putting it on a lift. Long story short my car came here because the gas tank needed to be replaced before other services could be done by Jake Luzi (like I said, car is old with many problems). It took Bob little to no time to provide his service and get the car to Jake and back on the road to me. There was a hiccup though. When the gas tank was replaced the float that reads how much gas is in the tank was not set correctly and yes you guessed it I ran out of gas. Only problem was I did not know that was the problem seeing how my gauge read that I had 3/4 full. Car was towed to Harvey Auto and took Jim pulling out the pump to tell me that the tank was not set correctly and I had no gas. After finding this out and my car was put back together I came and talked to Bob about what happened and he was very apologetic about what happened, which you could clearly see in his facial expressions he was disappointed. During our conversation he mentioned that I should have brought it to him first and would have honored his services, certainly had I known that the gas tank was the issue I would have had it towed here. But, we made up and went on with our day. Overall despite what had happened I am still pleased with his quick service and his gratitude for the work he had provided on short notice.
