I've been to every brand of supermarket and there's just something nicer about this particular shop. I've been to other Sainsbury's as well, and they don't even feel as nice as this one. The only fault that I DO come across some weeks, is that the same staff that cover the deli' counter have to cover the hot chicken counter at the end of the shop, and, because there is a large egg shelf between, they don't see you if you're waiting to be served. You are stuck with the dilema of moving from your position at the front of the queue and walking up to the deli counter to tell the staff that you're wanting. They might come down and serve the person who was waiting behind me first. I toss and turn in bed at night worrying about the thought of it sometimes. I think I like this shop because the staff are relaxed and friendly

Based in Kingsgate retail park in East Kilbride this is my favourite supermarket and has been since…read moreI started shopping here back in 2000. It has a good range of fresh produce clearly marked in regards to origin, I prefer to buy 'local' where I can and Sainsbury's are very good at plastering a saltire on anything even remotely Scottish. Unlike some supermarkets I've been to in recent times this Sainsbury's does a really good job of marking down the end of shelf life produce which saves me lots of cash and is also virtually the only way I can afford to eat meat. More generally the store isn't too big, but still manages to stock a variety of non-food items including clothing, electrical equipment, dvd's, cd's and so on. It has good lavatory facilities, although they are a tad small at times when you've got a small child in tow. They also have a really good cafe where we often stop off for a bite to eat if we're pushed for time ... oh yeah, the staff are really friendly too and there are one or two characters who really make the place feel like somewhere you belong.

For that wee special delicacy it's always worth popping into Waitrose. I wouldn't use it as a…read moreregular supermarket though, it's just too pricey for that. Morrisons is more in my budget range for the weekly shop, but there's always something in Waitrose to tempt you into spending more than you intended when you came in. Of course, all supermarkets want to do just that, but Waitrose seem to manage it more easily than most. This branch isn't huge, but it's somewhere larger than a 'metro' size and has more in it than you would think. They've even opened up a wee coffee bar at the front now, which seems to attract a few thirsty shoppers. The upstairs car park gives them a big advantage over Tesco and M&S farther down the road for bulk shoppers with deep pockets, but for me it's always a hand basket '5 items or less' style of visit.

The whole of the G12 postcode seemed to have a collective orgasm when Waitrose opened…read more Conversations in coffee shops shifted from bandwagon-jumping politics to whether or not Waitrose sold quaill's eggs, and it's arrival was exactly what the West End needed. Not only did it provide reassurance to it's residents that they were just as middle class as those from the nice parts of Edinburgh, but it allowed the West Enders to finally ditch their transparent bohemian pretence and concentrate on what's really important in life, like eating pheasant. When people talk about Waitrose it's position as a status symbol never seems far off their lips, but the quality is there too. If you're after something a bit special for dinner they sell countless brands you won't find elsewhere, and things like veal and venison that are often unavailable in other supermarkets. Well laid out, well stocked, and with a token nod to the fairtrade ethos if you feel guilty about spending a tenner on a loaf of bread. I'm glad they've arrived.

This particular store had an enormous parking lot, was super clean on the inside. When you entered, there were these scanners you could go ahead and choose to use, the reason? You could go ahead and scan your groceries ahead of time so that when you brought them up, they were already rang up and all the cashier had to do was bag them and take your money. Frankly, none of them were in use. Seems a bit like a lot of wasted money if you ask me, but that's just my opinion The stores carry fashions (Not a lot but some) House wares, grilling things and of course groceries and liquor. Yes, unlike Florida, they actually sell liquor in their stores. I know other states sell hard liquor but we only sell beer and wine. (le sigh) I really enjoy shopping in the UK because their selections were so different than ours. Bacon over here is not like bacon over there, we have "Streaky bacon" they have Rashers (Thin ham like slices which are salty and delicious), their meats are different but tasty and their produce come in different names for the same veggies (courgettes are zucchini) I loved the "Foreign" foods selections, which was tiny, and filled with mostly American foods. And of course the WALL of beans. Frankly I wish we'd get a Tesco here, and keep it filled with the UK selections.
