Tesco Superstore

Tesco Superstore

Tesco is the UK equivalent of our Target Superstore or Walmart Super store. HUGE and with an…read moreAmazing selection. This particular store had an enormous parking lot, was super clean on the inside. When you entered, there were these scanners you could go ahead and choose to use, the reason? You could go ahead and scan your groceries ahead of time so that when you brought them up, they were already rang up and all the cashier had to do was bag them and take your money. Frankly, none of them were in use. Seems a bit like a lot of wasted money if you ask me, but that's just my opinion The stores carry fashions (Not a lot but some) House wares, grilling things and of course groceries and liquor. Yes, unlike Florida, they actually sell liquor in their stores. I know other states sell hard liquor but we only sell beer and wine. (le sigh) I really enjoy shopping in the UK because their selections were so different than ours. Bacon over here is not like bacon over there, we have "Streaky bacon" they have Rashers (Thin ham like slices which are salty and delicious), their meats are different but tasty and their produce come in different names for the same veggies (courgettes are zucchini) I loved the "Foreign" foods selections, which was tiny, and filled with mostly American foods. And of course the WALL of beans. Frankly I wish we'd get a Tesco here, and keep it filled with the UK selections.

Just lovely staff and excellent service. From in store to the amazing delivery service. Really a…read morepart of the community, and can't imagine life without Tesco.

Absolute disgrace of a shop. Not big enough for the town, the fruit and veg is rotten half the time…read moreand you better do your shopping at the right times otherwise half the shelves are empty. Because Dunoon is where it is we are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to looking after the customer. I'd give it zero stars if I could. The town has this shop or a seriously overpriced and limited Co.Op. essentially the attitude of the company is take it or leave it. Disgusting.

Awful. literally the worst place I've ever been to, and what's even worse, I need to go there every…read moreday. I hate everything about it, the cold floors, the ugly walls, the horrible car park which is so bad, you have to wait like ten minutes just to cross the road to get in the place, I'd definitely rather get hit by a car than stare at the Morrisons entrance from across the street, that's for sure. Quite recently, Morrisons have started moving all their overpriced products around everywhere, so that the baked beans are next to the deodorant and shampoo, the salad's next to the cat food and they hide potatoes around the shop as if it's an Easter egg hunt! I was buying some crackers the other day and noticed that the safety pins where next to the Haribo Gummies. What? They've moved the milk at least six times this week and they didn't even have any a fortnight ago! The illogical ordering is so stressful for us customers, but, it's even worse for the staff! I asked them where the chocolate milk was yesterday because it wasn't next to the normal milk like it used to be and they hadn't a clue! The prices of all the items are going up ridiculous amounts as well, let's use the Meal Deals as an example, The idea is that if you're hungry and on a lunch break and want a !cheap! lunch, you go into the meal deal section of Morrisons and pick up a main meal, a snack and a drink for only £2, sounds great, right? Not anymore. last year they increased the price to £3, a big increase, but it was gradual, raising the price 5, 10 pence or so, but in the last three weeks, they made the meal deal another 50p more expensive. what. the. hell. What's even more harrowing about this whole meal deal experience is that along with making it 150% more expensive than what it was pre-brexit (I hate you tories!) they are also giving us less food! Lets use the vegetarian sushi as an example for this, the vegan sushi is my personal favourite meal deal main, as it provides you with 16 delicious pieces of heavenly flavour, but last week, they took 7 pieces out of the container! I have done the maths and that is a harrowing 43.75% decrease in sushi! Unacceptable!! The meal deal is only one example of what this awful, dystopian supermarket is doing! At first, they where trying to hide the fact that they where robbing us, making things a couple pennies more expensive a month, but they've taken off the invisibility cloak and are killing us with their awful manipulation tactics. Somebody, Anybody, I am begging you, please save our town and take down this supermarket. I would do anything for this manipulative Morrisons to be replaced with an Aldi or Lidl. Thank you for listening.

Overton Farm Shop - Look how happy the big kid is that you can play in the tractors!

I'd been hearing lots of positive things about the Oven at Overton Farm. So when we were at a loose…read moreend with no desire to spend 30-45 minutes in the car with 2 hungry children we thought we'd give it a go. I'm so glad we were feeling lazy, this place is magnificent. It's a purpose built cafe/kitchen/place where waistlines come to die. It's big, light and airy and feels homey and farmhouse kitchen-y without any chintz or cockerel cliche crimes. The service was lovely; cooing over the kids, making sure we had drinks, checking everything was just the way we wanted it and generally making us feel that we were in fact sat in the farmhouse kitchen being spoiled rotten. The menu is straightforward and fuss free and the food is outstandingly good. I had the best cooked breakfast I have ever had, g was a little disappointed that his burger looked so basic but quickly got over it when he tasted it. Everything is made fresh, locally produced and in generous portions. There is a great area with toys for little people and plans afoot for an outside play area so its brilliant for kids. But even if you don't have rug rats, amazing home baking (yes it's made onsite by them I checked!), meat from Overton Farms own butchery, such warm service and beautiful views of the Clyde Valley it's well worth checking out and if anyone hates eating alone I'm happy to keep them company. I'm selfless like that!

I drop in here fairly often to pick up a few bits and pieces, usually when I'm going to the Farmers…read moreMarket which is held here on the first Saturday of the month. They stock a small range of regular grocery type items, some fruit, bread, workwear and an usually large selection of toy tractors. To me though the main attraction of the farm shop is the local produce: eggs, meat and fruit & veg. Please remember though that this is not a supermarket and you wont get some things out of season. The farm shop also takes orders for large quantities of meat and at this time of the year they take orders for turkeys and sell Christmas trees.
