Let's go to Market Basket in Concord! Which one? The good one or bad one? There are 2 Market Basket stores in Concord less than a mile from each other, Storrs St and Fort Eddy Road, which are small and old school. There is now a third Market Basket in Concord just like in Salem and Nashua with 3 stores each, a brand new, bigger, and much nicer Market Basket located off I-93 Exit 17 next to the New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet.
This new Market Basket is larger than the other stores in Concord and Tilton, which has 21 aisles here including standard grocery items, Markets Cafe (pizza, burgers, hot foods, subs, salads, ready to heat foods, sushi), bakery, deli counter, seafood counter, meats, dairy, fresh produce, frozen foods, beer & wine, soda, bottle water, candy snacks, and more. This store is well stocked and the prices here are very good. They have plenty of my favorite frozen pastas including cheese raviolis, cavatelli, tortellini, and manicotti. They also carry the Tuscan Brands fresh pastas and sauces too.
The main reason I come here other than grocery shopping is to grab some prepared foods when I don't feel like cooking. The cheeseburger with choice of toppings & fries is $2.99 plus tax. The self serve soup bar was open with 5 choices including North Atlantic Haddock Chowder, New England Clam Chowder, Butternut Squash Soup, Chunky Beef Chili with Beans. I got a Large 24 oz Beef Chili with Beans ($5.99 plus tax), a Shrimp Penne ala Vodka ($4.99 plus tax), and a Medium Greek Salad ($4.29 plus tax). Checking out here is great with plenty of cashiers on duty (no self checkouts!). I enjoyed some of my dinner in the Markets Cafe seating area which also has a microwave oven to heat up the heat & serve items like my pasta dish. The chili was hot and very filling to eat, going well with the pasta dish and salad. read more
