Went into the Phelan Blvd location to get items for Tacos. Got to the taco section and picked up a box of shells which was both hard & soft. I didn't read the label but I remember the price was under $2 & there was another box of the same item there as well. There was also another purple tag hanging there but moving quickly I assumed it was a sale item. Got to check out & when the cashier wrong it up it came up $5.99. I mentioned to her about the price & she went with me to show her where I got it from. She confirmed what I told her. She got the manager "Devin" & explained & he seen it too. She asked if it could be honored & he said NO! I asked why not because there's more than 1 of that item in that spot & he said cause a customer could've put it there how do we know. I responded & said, "Well I didn't put it there & you can roll your camera to see". I stated that was poor customer
service cause it should be honored. I could understand if it was the ONLY box of that 1 particular item there but it wasn't. He said, "We're not honoring it" & walked away. I live 3 minutes from this location & shop there regularly & never had any issues. MB claims to cater to their customers but on this day Devin showed me differently. The cashier was really nice & she's the reason for the 2 stars but I will not shop at this location again. The $4 difference of honoring that product would not have hurt their sales but made a regular customer satisfied. I'm a manager on my job & sometimes while stocking a person can actually put things in there wrong location as well so we honor it to keep the customer coming back. I left everything I was purchasing and went to a different retailer that's farther from my home due to dissatisfaction from my friendly neighborhood MB store. It wasn't so much the $4 it was more of how he handled the situation but the cashier apologized several times & I explained it wasn't her fault. read more
