I came here for a quick grab before I hop on the freeway to go back to Houston. I found this H-E-B super convenient. Just right off of Highway I-10 and College Street where connects to Highway 90. Customers were pretty cordial. Employees were friendly but only amongst themselves. I'm not used to this weird hospitality. Fruits were fresh enough. Although I found a half rotten pear after I got home. Boohoo. Can't return it. Hahaha. Just be careful next time. read more

Don't use the pickup service you get the nearly expired meat and the oldest bread. They do a great job of rotation their old stuff out the back through the delivery service! Then when you complain they ask you to return the item. Making the whole connivence incredibly inconvenient. So if you have the time to go through all your groceries at the store before u leave or have the time to return to the store twice. I wouldn't use their service read more

Pretty substandard grocery experience. Store is pretty dirty. Lots of out of stocks. Check out took forever as checker and bagger were engaged in conversation that was their priority. Prices were reasonable but not attractive enough to compensate for suboptimal experience. Would look elsewhere for groceries. read more

Need food, but don't want to shell out a lot of money for it? Here's a good option. I was encouraged to visit HEB at a small group Bible study I'm doing, "check out their version of Fritos." I'm in Beaumont several times a week, so I checked it out. I was impressed. HEB, for some reason, is marked on Yelp as being two dollar signs. I found it to be more like one. Prices are similar to Market Basket, some items are lower. Hill Country is their label, and these items are lower. And this is a BIG grocery store. They have just about everything you need, lots of it, and be prepared to do a lot of walking. It's not fancied up, it's a step above bare-bones. Just the kind of place I like. The big boom: five pounds of beef for $4 LESS than I could find anywhere else. I got the off-brand Fritos, haven't eaten them yet, but I did get other HEB tortilla chips, and they are fresh, tasty, hot when they are expected to be, and low priced. Catfish nuggets for $3/pound. I've ended up doing at least one food trip per week at HEB. It's not much out of the way for me, and it's half a mile east of the freeway at the busy intersection of College & 11th. So it's a place to stop on by. As a side note, my first big job studied marketing trends at grocery stores, including this one. But at that time, it was called H. E. Butt. Having a teenage daughter, I love mentioning this store, calling it by its old name -- with the emphasis on "BUTT!" ("Daaaad...") I guess that's why they shortened their name . . . read more

Can't use the express lane unless you have 10 or less items even when the store literally just opened and there is no other customers in line . They are always ruff with your grocery's and damage your fruits and bag poorly . read more

Been here twice. Live in Galveston but my parent live here. This store (to me) doesn't have enough choices-options so, I prefer the one on the west end. HEB...get you some more groceries!!! read more

I love HEB- I was able to get supplies to stay at my hotel to stock the fridge with snacks and drinks as to not pay hotel prices and a great bottle of wine. everything seemed great I was just in and out very fast working in town. read more

I love the employees here. Their attitude is top notch. They are so quick, effecient and friendly!

I shop here very often because I love HEB stores, low prices and it is close to my home. That's it. This store is the worst. I gave 2 stars because they do have some great people working here, but a vast majority have left me frustrated an many visits. I wish they would hire more friendly, customer focused staff, who enjoy their job, and don't carry on whole conversations with coworkers, while ignoring customers. (Happens way too often.) This does not reflect the awesome people, who are always there, doing their part. You are very appreciated! read more

Worst experience ever from a carry out of my grocery purchase from a young gentleman named Zachariah on 9/22 22 at 3:13 p.m. which I am disabled and recently had rotator cuff surgery. When you exit out the door my car was the second car facing the front entrance in handicap. He was begging grocery store cashier k i y a n n a H. So I know some of my items was heavy so I looked at the guys named Ted and I said Zachariah do you mind bringing this out putting it in my car for me he didn't respond with it yes or no he slowly? If he didn't want to walk. I had to keep stopping for him to catch up with me and I have peripheral neuropathy and both legs. Once I got to my car and unlocked it I opened my back door which he stopped the court 5 ft from my vehicle I ignore that part and I said okay do you mind just putting everything on my back seat I was there specific because I haven't a very expensive piece of luggage overnight luggage right on the floor on a very expensive towel so he reached one item out of the Court walked it to the vehicle and put it in and I said okay let me grab my bread and pies one second which I did and I put them on the front seat when I turn back around I literally picked up something else out the cart and grab the card and pulled it closer to the park for his convenience and said that on my other side in the front as I was generously getting his tip because I always do chip very graciously all of the people that work there know me and know how I feel as I went to get something else out of the court that I could live I noticed he had put a 15 lb bag of potatoes on top of my luggage a bag that had three big cans of hunts pasta sauce a bag of apples on top of my luggage and then I indicated to him I said baby wait a minute I asked you to please put the things on the seat I said this is some expensive luggage that my daughter just gave me for Christmas at that moment I started with pushing the stuff off of my luggage his response was after I repeated again after I push the items off of my luggage on to the other side of my floor I said I asked you if you didn't mind to just put everything on the seat this response was whether you wanted to put in there a certain way you should have put it in there yourself at that moment if I could have would have probably been I had to calm myself down cuz I didn't realize what did he actually just say this had he lost his mind or what was I being pumped and I asked him I said you really must don't like this job working here he mumbled something to me I didn't understand it and basically something to the bank afterwards and I see you forget it and I grabbed my soda that I had left in my cart put it in my car and I told him he can go ahead he made some little comment as to a good day I said no baby you don't have a good day you have a blessed day cuz you need one I'm pawned it on that in my car I start getting more and more upset cuz I've never been talked to like that in my life of all my years of shopping finally I just said no I'm not putting leaving this store I didn't care if all my mother popsicles melted or not I went got 30 requested they manage your or whoever I don't remember her name I know it starts with the letters c I explained to her first I explained it to the two gentlemen that was working there at the door and they immediately once I told them what he said they immediately I informed her that I would like to go back in the store and confront him when she speak with him just in case he trying to say something different at the same token I was so upset I think it probably was best I didn't go back in there I shop it that store all the time never had a bad experience ever was shopping at it before it was over there when it was on Lucas and to this day never in my life have I had a child look like he just got off of Similac speak to me and that man and trust me I had the whole time to keep from saying what I would have said to his child I wouldn't care 40 years ago I wouldn't have cared if he was 17 18 or 3 but from his response I wanted to take his head off and the rest of his body from that response and treat him like he was a step-grandchild beat the living s*** out of him he would have learned respect that day and I can't see you all having people working for you guys with that kind of mannerism. read more

Smaller size store. Not in the best area of town but a good centralized location that needed a sizable grocery store. It's a newer store but lacks the size of the HEB Plus and the other amenities that most of us are used to. It's convenient for those of us who buy for a local office. read more

This is our favorite grocery store! Easy to get in and out of, very friendly staff, and they have everything!

I'm always frustrated when I go in this store. They have no healthy food section, no gluten free food, and the selection is very limited. The folks I've asked to help me find healthy things before have no clue where that might be. They also have less meal prep options than other stores. I'll stick with the HEB plus in town. read more
