Shrimp toast from Bessou
Masumi T.

Found this place while browsing Google Maps before our show at City Winery, and I'm so glad we stopped by -- great food options, an awesome rooftop view, and a fun vibe overall. It was pretty crowded, but we still managed to find seats at a tabletop. There were so many choices that it was hard to decide, but we went with a prosciutto sandwich from Due Madri, shrimp toast from Bessou, and a shrimp taco from Mijo. Everything was delicious! We also had a cup of wine, which we enjoyed while wandering around and checking out the shops. I'd definitely come back for both the food and the views.

Pretty decent food hall with a variety of options. Nothing seemed over the top nor bad. Restrooms and ample seating. Some with nice views. They had a nice rooftop though. That was 5/5.

Bessou restaurant venue

It's scenic, it's spacious & has lots of cuisines venues. It even has a Hot Dog stand for kids but I'm sure it's for anyone who just wants a hot dog Lol It has a winery & beer restaurant & bar as u enter the market. Then a bistro, & it opens up to a venue of many small restaurant venues of different tastes. In the far rear of Market 57, is a quaint bar. Nice for meetups, especially if ur running late . Sit down have a drink mature atmosphere. However, if u don't drink there r lounges to sit in rear b4 the bar over looking the side of the water front. The Rooftop, is gorgeous on all angles. I'm sure this Spring & Summer will be lit The only problem I have is the amount of ppl allowed to walk through the eatery's with dogs . Dog hair flys in the hair & settles on food. I'm allergic as well, so I'm not interested in a dog licking my leg & having an allergic reaction. Who wants to take Benadryl or an Epi-Pen injection while out to eat?

If I could pack this up and bring to TX I would! I thoroughly enjoyed the repurposed pier into a fun dining, hangout, shopping overall mixed use space. It was a great spot to catch a bite and sight see. There are many local food options and seating. We got rained in for a bit but not to worry because we popped into a wine bar and had a nice sit with drinks. Highly recommend visiting this unique space. I saw people eating, shopping, jogging, sight seeing, and overall enjoying themselves.

We enjoyed our visit this food court that had a variety of food and dessert options. My friend and i had just finished enjoying the roof top views from Pier 57 and then headed down to enjoy lunch. We made sure we walked around to every vendor before we decided what to eat. lol. Initially we were going to eat outside and enjoy the views but sun and humidity was too high. My friend ate at Mijo- Mexican spot where she had three tacos. I ate at LoLo's, a seafood and Caribbean inspired spot. I ordered the jerk bbq ribs with plantains and fries and a side of Johnny cakes. My first time trying Johnny cakes which is like a sweet fried cornbread was in Anguilla and I fell in love. My friend enjoyed her light meal but I had a platter. lol. My food was delicious and very hearty. My meal could've fed two people but I simply had a to go plate and enjoyed the remainder of my meal the following day and it was as delicious. I will definitely check this place out again and try some other food options.

Fab location with lots of space, eateries and good service. Attended a work event during the day in the middle of the week. The space was clean, spacious, lovely views and had numerous dining opting including a fabulous coffee spot!! Would definitely return.

Had a delicious brisket sandwich here

Not as many food vendors as I expected for the size of the building but, it's mixed use with meeting rooms and other things going on. We enjoyed the Italian deli and the brisket sandwich we had from them. There was still a variety of foods to satisfy most. Bathrooms were clean and properly stocked with appropriate supplies. The area over all was very clean.

This market was a pleasant place to stroll around, with all the stalls emitting enticing aromas, although we didn't end up trying any of the food. We walked through and took the elevator up to the rooftop park at the Pier. The building itself is quite large, and we didn't venture all the way back to the bar, which was located beyond the market and elevator area. On a Friday afternoon, there was a moderate crowd, including a charming dog, and the staff were helpful and strategically positioned throughout the market to assist with any questions visitors might have.

Stopped by for a quick bite post Little Island visit; must say, very impressed. I'm always disappointed when I visit markets in Europe and come back to NY and ask the same question "Why can't NY have a market as great as La Boqueria or Naschmarket?" Well my friends, we almost do at Market 57. Not only do you have a variety of food options, Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Indian to name a few, it's a great place to dine solo or with friends, people watch and take in stunning views of Little Island and Pier 57. Highly recommend!

Wow! What a fun multi-faceted located filled with a food court, community spaces, and the roof top garden??!! First off, I love this place because it is not as overrun as Chelsea Market as yet. But I see the ads going up all over the place, so the rush is coming. I love that the Hudson River Park-Healthy on the Hudson morning Yoga and HIIT classes are held indoors here in one of their community rooms. However, the food court leaves me underwhelmed. At first glance you feel excited to try the spots with long lines and the aroma enticing you to grab a bite but thus far, I have taken a bite from a few vendors and have not been impressed. Here are my first impressions: Bessou- Ordered the FRIED CHICKEN KARAAGE Japanese-style fried chicken HOT HONEY NANBAN. The order of 3 cost $13 including tax. The chicken had little flavor, and the meat did not look or taste fully cooked. Zaab Zaab- Orderd Thai iced tea with the wob beef and white rice were generous in portion but bland in flavor even with the medium spice request and fish oil The James Beard Foundation- Platform Guest restaurant Honey Bun had some enticing dish titles. We decided to have the chicken tenders with a biscuit and a side of mac and cheese. The sauce that came with the tenders helped the flavor. But the tenders were small. ( I thought of the chain restaurant Raising Canes because the sauce was similar) The mac and cheese should have just been called macaroni because the cheese was barely there and there was hardly any cohesion of between the two to truly call is Mac and Cheese. The bisquit tasted, ok.

Live coming here ! It was the best place to grab something to eat while walking around the city ! There's so many options for food and everything it's made to order ! The Korean restaurant noodles were amazing ' just be ready to place your order with time since it's gets a busy in the weekends.

Humongous

The food hall to end all food halls. Across from Little island, the market reminds me of an updated Industry City meets the seaport. Great indoor outdoor flow, not to mention a rooftop park - wow It's massive with a James Beard Test kitchen in the rear of the space. The vendors lean towards BIPOC and there's an array of options. I went with Mijo & tried Local Roots vegan noodles. Mijo is owned by Famy Gerson and it features paper as tacos & flautas. Ate: Mushrooms Carmitas 2 $4.75 The wild mushrooms and tortilla were so so perfect I had another. The rooftop park is insane and this place should prove to be wildly popular in warmer months. One caveat we're bathrooms were dirty Tuesday at 3:30 which I don't get???

This was a dope experience! This place has something for everyone from authentic rolls, to curry, to ice cream. All the businesses are pretty much lunch oriented. The things sold here aren't the most filling but will definitely be a "pick me up" for your day. As for the businesses, they're alllllll good, I get why people come more than once to just try other things. There's MANY options. It looks like a huge warehouse where you can order, eat and hangout after because of the pier. Overall the location is great and peaceful, places to park your bike as well. Great for a solo day or a trip with friends. I will say, It's on the pricier scale for your typical lunch so be ready for that. I had "Lolos" chicken and jerk ribs. I WAS HIGHLY IMPRESSED. Even though I waited a while for them (20+ mins) I was debating actually buying another order of wings. The staff was super sweet and patient. Thank you for everything!

He was very communicative--even with the 13 hour time difference, I was able to coordinate with him easily. I had my husband be taken out of the house three hours before the party to set up... the balloon arch was delivered right on time. The photographer showed up half an hour earlier than the party. The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. The photographer David was also really so helpful, friendly, and on it! He came early and helped with some of the set up... he was attentive and also very nice to talk to. Very natural (sometimes it's awkward when a photographer's in your face taking pictures but it wasn't awkward at all). We got a USB full of pictures right after the party! Really, what a great experience. My husband had a really great time. Thank you Mark and company!

I can't say enough good things about working with Jen and ICE Events as our day of wedding…read morecoordinator. I enlisted Jen's services because we had many different moving parts for our wedding day. Jen went above and beyond to ensure that we stayed on schedule and that all of the events ran smoothly on the day of our wedding. Leading up to our wedding, Jen leveraged her experience planning large scale corporate event to help set the schedule for our wedding day. Jen was instrumental in coordinating the timing and transportation from the hotel, to the ceremony and finally to the reception. On our wedding day Jen served as the point of contact for our vendors including the florist, photographer, hair stylist and makeup artist, among others. As the bride it was so nice to put away my phone and enjoy my wedding day as each event unfolded. Jen arrived early and helped out behind the scenes from distributing tips and payments to the hair stylist and makeup artist in the bridal suite to making sure lunch arrived on time and that our bridal party was fed before we left for the ceremony. Once the reception began she worked seamlessly with the Maître D at the Maritime Parc. Jen was especially helpful in keeping our bridal party of 20 adults and 2 children organized, so everyone knew where they had to be at different times during the day. Jen is very professional and an all-around lovely person, she got the job done without having to be bossy. I would highly recommend working with Jen and ICE Events for a stress free wedding day.

However, the way the billing was handled was extremely disappointing and honestly very misleading. I was told that adding two additional guests would not be a problem, and at no point was I informed there would be an extra $150 charge. To only bring this up after the event is unacceptable. That kind of information should be clearly communicated at the time the request is made so customers can make an informed decision. What made matters worse was receiving a final email stating that my deposit would be kept because of those additional guests. That is completely unprofessional. I paid $2,772.20 for a pizza-making class for 17 kids and 16 adults, and in reality, only 15 kids and 15 adults attended--and only about 8 adults even participated in making pizza. There were no additional materials or accommodations that would justify keeping the deposit. While the event itself was a success, the lack of transparency and the decision to keep the deposit left a very bad impression. Customers should not have to deal with surprise charges after the fact.

The format is basically like the show Chopped - two chefs (with the help of a sous chef) must prepare 3 different courses (app/entrée/dessert) using the ingredients from a mystery basket and are judged by the group. They have a certain amount of time for each round/course, and each mystery basket ingredient must only be used once over the 3 dishes. Each event is capped at 20 people - 12 seats at the counter and 8 seated at two tables behind the counter. Counter seats are only $10 more, however if the counter is sold out, it's totally fine to have a table seat. They encourage you to stand up and walk around, engaging with the chefs as they are preparing each dish. They have tasting sticks and allow you to taste sauces as they are being prepared. It's an intimate setting and it's a great way to learn about their techniques and the various ingredients. Watching them plate 20 dishes is incredible. All the food they prepared was delicious - there wasn't a bad dish. It's basically like having two full 3-course meals however you can take home any leftovers if you can't finish it all. You don't know the mystery ingredients ahead of time and they can't accommodate any allergies/preferences so that's something to keep in mind if you have allergies or are a picky eater. Our main proteins were chicken and steak so no issues there. At the end of each course, you have a score card where you rate each dish on presentation, creativity, and taste. At the end of the final round, we went around the room and told the chefs who we think should be crowned the night's winner. No getting out of telling them to their faces who was your favorite! It was a really fun night. The hostess was great and kept everyone pumped up and made sure our carafe of water was full. Both chef Ed and Guillermo were really cool and friendly - it was great to chat with them. They are amazing chefs. Some tips: don't be late! Don't dress too warmly especially if you are seated at the counter - it gets warm if you are near the stove burners. Bring wine - they have ice buckets for white/rosé. Book as soon as the calendar goes live if you want a counter seat. You are going to smell like oil/fried food when you leave... so ladies, don't get a fresh blowout ahead of time!
