So this place is pretty incredible. Yet another repurposed pier on the west side, but great use of the space, with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some excellent food. I had lunch at Nom Wah (fan fried noodles with crispy chicken) and grabbed dessert at Zaab Zaab (mango sticky rice) for my walk home. There is an awesome food vendor here for every craving and taste. I can already tell I'll be inventing more reasons to hang out on the west side (when it's not overrun by cruise ships). The food hall is an impressive collection of local businesses, all of it really top notch. Great service and food quality. The space is massive with lots of seating and places to sit, linger and enjoy the scenery. The upstairs roof deck adds even more space. ANOTHER SHOPPING PIER. What do you do with all those piers? We don't need them for shipping anymore thanks to containers and you only need a couple of cruise ship docks uptown. Found this place while browsing Google Maps before our show at City Winery, and I'm so glad we stopped by -- great food options, an awesome rooftop view, and a fun vibe overall. It was pretty crowded, but we still managed to find seats at a tabletop. There were so many choices that it was hard to decide, but we went with a prosciutto sandwich from Due Madri, shrimp toast from Bessou, and a shrimp taco from Mijo. Everything was delicious! It even has a Hot Dog stand for kids but I'm sure it's for anyone who just wants a hot dog Lol It has a winery & beer restaurant & bar as u enter the market. Then a bistro, & it opens up to a venue of many small restaurant venues of different tastes. In the far rear of Market 57, is a quaint bar. Nice for meetups, especially if ur running late . Sit down have a drink mature atmosphere. However, if u don't drink there r lounges to sit in rear b4 the bar over looking the side of the water front. The Rooftop, is gorgeous on all angles. If I could pack this up and bring to TX I would! I thoroughly enjoyed the repurposed pier into a fun dining, hangout, shopping overall mixed use space. It was a great spot to catch a bite and sight see. There are many local food options and seating. We got rained in for a bit but not to worry because we popped into a wine bar and had a nice sit with drinks. Highly recommend visiting this unique space. We enjoyed our visit this food court that had a variety of food and dessert options. My friend and i had just finished enjoying the roof top views from Pier 57 and then headed down to enjoy lunch. We made sure we walked around to every vendor before we decided what to eat. lol. Initially we were going to eat outside and enjoy the views but sun and humidity was too high. My friend ate at Mijo- Mexican spot where she had three tacos. I ate at LoLo's, a seafood and Caribbean inspired spot. I ordered the jerk bbq ribs with plantains and fries and a side of Johnny cakes. My first time trying Johnny cakes which is like a sweet fried cornbread was in Anguilla and I fell in love. My friend enjoyed her light meal but I had a platter. lol. My food was delicious and very hearty. My meal could've fed two people but I simply had a to go plate and enjoyed the remainder of my meal the following day and it was as delicious. Not as many food vendors as I expected for the size of the building but, it's mixed use with meeting rooms and other things going on. We enjoyed the Italian deli and the brisket sandwich we had from them. There was still a variety of foods to satisfy most. Bathrooms were clean and properly stocked with appropriate supplies. This market was a pleasant place to stroll around, with all the stalls emitting enticing aromas, although we didn't end up trying any of the food. We walked through and took the elevator up to the rooftop park at the Pier. The building itself is quite large, and we didn't venture all the way back to the bar, which was located beyond the market and elevator area. Wow! What a fun multi-faceted located filled with a food court, community spaces, and the roof top garden??!! First off, I love this place because it is not as overrun as Chelsea Market as yet. But I see the ads going up all over the place, so the rush is coming. I love that the Hudson River Park-Healthy on the Hudson morning Yoga and HIIT classes are held indoors here in one of their community rooms. However, the food court leaves me underwhelmed. At first glance you feel excited to try the spots with long lines and the aroma enticing you to grab a bite but thus far, I have taken a bite from a few vendors and have not been impressed. Here are my first impressions: Bessou- Ordered the FRIED CHICKEN KARAAGE Japanese-style fried chicken HOT HONEY NANBAN. The order of 3 cost $13 including tax. The chicken had little flavor, and the meat did not look or taste fully cooked. Zaab Zaab- Orderd Thai iced tea with the wob beef and white rice were generous in portion but bland in flavor even with the medium spice request and fish oil The James Beard Foundation- Platform Guest restaurant Honey Bun had some enticing dish titles. We decided to have the chicken tenders with a biscuit and a side of mac and cheese. The sauce that came with the tenders helped the flavor. But the tenders were small. ( I thought of the chain restaurant Raising Canes because the sauce was similar) The mac and cheese should have just been called macaroni because the cheese was barely there and there was hardly any cohesion of between the two to truly call is Mac and Cheese. The food hall to end all food halls. Across from Little island, the market reminds me of an updated Industry City meets the seaport. Great indoor outdoor flow, not to mention a rooftop park - wow It's massive with a James Beard Test kitchen in the rear of the space. The vendors lean towards BIPOC and there's an array of options. I went with Mijo & tried Local Roots vegan noodles. Mijo is owned by Famy Gerson and it features paper as tacos & flautas. Ate: Mushrooms Carmitas 2 $4.75 The wild mushrooms and tortilla were so so perfect I had another. This was a dope experience! This place has something for everyone from authentic rolls, to curry, to ice cream. All the businesses are pretty much lunch oriented. The things sold here aren't the most filling but will definitely be a "pick me up" for your day. As for the businesses, they're alllllll good, I get why people come more than once to just try other things. There's MANY options. It looks like a huge warehouse where you can order, eat and hangout after because of the pier. Overall the location is great and peaceful, places to park your bike as well. Great for a solo day or a trip with friends. I will say, It's on the pricier scale for your typical lunch so be ready for that. I had "Lolos" chicken and jerk ribs. I WAS HIGHLY IMPRESSED. We tried out Bessou, their crispy rice and chicken karaage were delicious. Lots of places to sit but it can get a little crowded. Honey Bunny food kiosk is located inside Market 57. A recent visit just to eat this famous fried chicken was a few weekends ago. Chef Jared Howard was in residence and beaming away. That looked promising. I paid $18 and change for the Maryland Fried Chicken Tenders Meal. The description was of "2 Jumbo Chicken Tenders with Sweet Potato Salad and Biscuit." When I opened the box, I needed a magnifying glass to inspect the size of those tenders. Jumbo? Not by a long shot. What was "jumbo" was the potato salad which had a dressing that was acidic. The garlic biscuit was tasty but I wanted chicken! Another piece would have helped. After all I wasn't expecting half a bird. I don't plan to return anytime soon unless three jumbo pieces are in that box. No, make that four so that I don't have to whip out a magnifying glass and fully enjoy my meal. read more

I love the diversity of international dining options- should be something to suit every palate. I got dosa and my son had chicken biryani from the Indian stall Ammi- good portion and reasonably priced. My daughter got a sandwich from Due Madri- prosciutto and pecorino cream sandwiched between focaccia- really good but sticker shock at $26 for essentially a fancy ham and cheese. For as large as the space is, I think more seating would be nice. It's all around the perimeter- I'm sure as to not impede flow, but it was hard to find a table and 3 seats. The rooftop is the star in my mind- fantastic views (especially at sunset), grass, architectural elements...nice place to relax after a meal. read more

The food was good but not great. I got the Mac and cheese from Ras. It was good but had a bitter after taste. They had a small menue there as well. The server also told me they had a place in Brooklyn with more on the menu, I would give that a try. The jerky ribs from Lolo tasted good but they were not jerky. I didn't taste any jerk from it. I would probably order something different next time I go. The place was pretty spacious, and I love the rooftop park. It was just too cold that day for us to enjoy upstairs. Came for the food, stayed for the view... I biked down the Hudson River greenway on the west side to get to Market 57 food hall at Pier 57 in Manhattan, and the views were stunning from the moment I hopped on the bike and throughout my visit to the food hall. The food hall is located inside a large, beautifully aesthetic modern building with open windows and a spacious floor plan. I went on a Sunday around 4:30pm and aside from a few specific, more narrow aisles, despite the slight crowd of people, it wasn't too hard to navigate around. I had to do an entire figure eight walk around before deciding what to do order, because there were a good amount of different vendors to check out. They're all centralized in the same area, which made it a quick walkthrough. After some debating, I started off with an Orange Creamsicle flavored milk tea at Local Roots. The flavor was on point and was absolutely DELICIOUS, I only wish I got more bang for my buck for the price I paid ($8 and some change before tip, for a small size with sub oat milk). I felt like it should have cost maybe $5 or $6 for that amount. But otherwise, I enjoyed it. For my main course, I decided to get a taco from Mijo. I went with the pollo with mole. The mole sauce was decently tasty, but nothing special. They did give a good amount of meat which I appreciated, and for the price of $4 or $5 something plus change for their tacos, I thought it was well priced. Unfortunately, the taco itself was rather plain in both toppings and taste. They did offer four different sauces, and as someone who usually goes for a mild, mild-medium, or medium sauce, I personally found all of them to be too spicy, even their one with the least amount of spice. My friend also ordered a taco there, as well as a Japanese style 3pc Fried Chicken Karaage ($12) with added sauce (+ $0.50 each) at Bessou. He felt the same way as I did about the taco. As for the chicken, he thought it was crispy and overall decent, but he didn't get much bang for his buck size wise and also wasn't much of a presentation. Overall, we weren't too impressed with what we ordered unfortunately. However, there are so many more options to try at these food stands and others that it would be worth a second chance when I'm around, but nothing I'm going to go out of the way for as of now. Hot tip: once you order, walk past the food hall and there are a good amount of standing tables and seating areas inside, or take it on the patio or the rooftop park outside! What captivated us the most was the view from Pier 57's multi-level Rooftop Park. With a beautiful, panoramic skyline view, including a view of Little Island, it's perfect for taking pictures and just relaxing. We were there at sunset, which made for an even more picturesque moment. If you're looking for a great photo op, this is a spot I'd recommend! read more

Market 57 is a food hall with lots of great options tucked away inside the pier. I live in Chelsea and never would have known this was here, but it was bustling with people so I may be in the minority. The food options are a bit more exotic and elevated than those at Chelsea Market, which is what I expected given James Beard's involvement. You can take your food up to the roof which has a lovely view but not a lot of seating. In fact, there's a lack of seating overall. There are more standing than seated tables here, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend coming here to "hang out". It's more of an eat and go type of place. We did discover some tables outside on the ground level on our way out, but there are only a few of them. I'll definitely be back to try all of their interesting food concepts, but just probably not with a group ;p read more

The fried chicken from Bessou and ice cream from Malai are must gets! This food hall is still a hidden gem, making it a great alternative to Chelsea Market during prime lunch/dinner hours. So much money left on the table, because most kiosks--at 7pm on a beautiful Saturday--had zero staff and no food. It's like a business trying NOT to make money.
