I had initially heard about Marked from a friend that was helping promote the veterans day tattoo event. First time in the doors everyone was extremely friendly and professional. Despite that day being extremely busy, from what I saw all of the artists were still focused on producing high quality work. Parker did my tattoo on veterans day, quick hand, very clean line work, and knows how to run his tattoo machine to get the perfect result and not bury the needles like I've experienced many times before. A company willing to give their time a resources to say thank you to vets automatically receives my gratitude. Two months later I just had my first session with Kenny to do a galaxy/universe half sleeve. I was late to my appointment due to car trouble and received numerous calls from Kenny and Jen to see if I was alright. That's more than customer service. That's treating someone as family. Kenny is an extremely talented artist! Didn't have the full 7.5 hours to sit because I was late. Yet he still made a great amount of progress and it's the cleanest tattoo I've personally ever seen. He's also a great person to talk to while sitting still for hours on end. I'm going to stop rambling about all the amazing positive experiences, there are too many to list. *I will absolutely tell anyone and everyone to come get their art done here! Rates are higher than average shops around Reno. Well guess what, you get what you pay for, and this studio is far more than average. I will never get inked anywhere else. Ever. Marked Studios is a one of a kind tattoo studio. Easily the best in the area. Mark, you had a huge spark of genius when designing the way Marked Studios should be presented and run. For those who want just the bottom line, there aren't enough stars to express how this place is just amazing. I don't know why you'd go anywhere else, I certainly won't. This was my first tattoo, at age 56, and didn't know what to expect. I had a design in my head that expressed my love for my son who had just passed away suddenly so there was a lot of emotion in this piece. From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted with a warm friendly smile from Natalie, I knew I had the right place. Mackenzie was the artist who took my thoughts and emotions and created something that went above and beyond. The first draft was amazing in itself and brought out ideas that I hadn't thought about but she picked up on during our conversations. After a few minor changes, I felt it expressed everything I felt inside and now beautifully expressed in a piece of art. I even use a copy of it as my computer desktop background! The design I described to them was largely about my last hike I did with my son. We hiked to the top of Peavine Mountain on a full moon and drank a Blue Moon beer for my birthday. Mackenzie even managed to put the towers on top of the mountain in the tattoo. When I arrived the day I got my tattoo, waiting for me was a six pack of Blue Moon. I broke down. Just got a tattoo done by Kenny on my left calf. This is not my first tattoo, and right now it is my best tattoo. Kenny did an outstanding job on the art work and in looking at the tattoo last night after following the detailed care instructions provided I was amazed at the fine detail work. Kenny also did an outstanding job in the coloring, shading and placement of the tattoo so as to get it to match up with an older tattoo on my right calf. I had to wait about 4 mos. for my appointment with Kenny, but the wait was worth it. My tattoos have symbolic meaning for my life. I like this last tattoo so much that I am trying to think of something else to get. The studio itself was also outstanding. Staff and other artists were genuinely friendly and helpful. The chatter among all of the artists and clients in the work area was relaxing. Safe, sterile conditions as well as after care were well handled and thought out. Tattoos are almost always a personal experience for a person wanting a tattoo. I strongly recommend checking out Marked Studios and it's artists, especially Kenny. As for the baby boomers and those in the 40 and 50 plus years, I am 60 plus retired, I would start here, especially if you are looking at a first tattoo, I started just after my 50th birthday. read more

Marked Studios is just plain Awesome!! Been 20+ years since my wife and I have had any artwork done. We'd been considering new work and were referred to Marked by an acquaintance. We stopped in to check it out and were immediately impressed with the place and the people!! We signed up for new art work with Moses and Noel made us feel at ease throughout the process. Two weeks later and we are there for our appointments. Noel made sure we were comfortable for the moment we got there and Moses met with us to go over our art work with us to make sure we liked what we wanted and the placement. First thing that impresses when you go back to the workshop area is how frigging clean it is....spotless and everything was sterilized. During the entire process we were constantly made to feel comfortable and at ease. In the end, the art work was completed amazingly and was exactly what we wanted. Sure it had the typical "annoyance" of being tattooed but when we decide to go forward with our next artwork session we will 1,000% be scheduling at Marked Studios with Moses!! Parker did my very first tattoo for me back in July. The pain was minimal, the conversation was great, and to this day I am still in awe over how fantastic a job he did. I get comments almost daily on how clean, steady, and dark the lines are; everyone loves it almost as much as I do! As for the studio itself, they place high priority on keeping things sterile, something I greatly appreciated. Prices were extremely reasonable, and they were more than happy to work with me when my friend and I called to ask if we could be squeezed in at the last minute. Their customer service is stellar - they kept in close contact and got us in with Parker after just two days! To say I was impressed by Marked Studios would be a massive understatement. Marked studios came recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad I checked them out. From the moment I walked in to enquire I knew I would be getting my work done here. The receptionist was courteous, explained how the studio operates and then introduced me to Mark Moots. Highly recommended artist. Mark made notes of my design ideas and helped me come up with a design. The day before my scheduled appointment he sent me a email with design, this is different and so awesome. Gave me time to make small changes and proof the design. Many reviews here talk about pricing but the thing to remember is that you only pay for actual needle time. Price is relative and if you want class work done by talented artists and at a shop that's top notch then marked studios is the place. Quick shout out to artist Mark again.. Marked studios deserves the highest compliment I can give. They offer free tattoos for military veterans on veterans day. I was one of those. They were so busy that a tattooist from Lake Tahoe came down to help. Sadly, the person from outside Marked Studios did not do a very good job. I waited two years and finally went back to see if they could do anything. Since the tattoo was free, I didn't feel right for asking. Moses looked at my tattoo and said that they would be glad to do some work on it, at no charge. He did a fabulous job and now the tattoo looks great and I am proud of it and like showing it. There is more to a business than just the skill set of their personnel. Marked Tattoos goes far beyond that. I will be having all my future tattoos done by Moses and I highly recommend Marked Studios to everyone. read more

I want to take a moment to recognize everyone at Marked studios. I went to their Veterans Day tattoo event and received my very first army tattoo. Not only were they super friendly, but their studio is modern and clean. I had the pleasure of being tattooed by the owner, Mark. He has a really awesome attitude and he's a talented artist. I could tell that they were doing this event out of the goodness of their hearts simply because they wouldn't accept any money I offered. I also tried to tip Mark, my artist, and he wouldn't accept. He said, "that's not necessary, this event is for you guys. Thank you for your service." He then gave me a hug, after care products, and sent me on my way with a smile and a bitchin tattoo. There are so many words to describe Marked Studios that I can't just pick one. Lets start with art, depth, multi-dimensional, everything you asked for and more. They shop is very high tech from their tattoo guns to their supplies. You only pay for the time that needle is on your skin, not some inflated price and smoke breaks that other shops do. Their customer service is beyond the norm, and they make sure we are doing good on the after care. Have you ever experienced that cranky, hungover tattoo artist who doesn't really want to do what you want? I have, and I won't go back there again. I've been to Marked twice now, the first time in 2016 with Mackenzie. I took my daughter for her first tattoo (mother and daughter commemorative pieces) and they were very welcoming and informative so her first experience was great; and our tattoos turned out great and still look amazing. I went in again yesterday with Maya and am just as pleased with the second visit. The studio is always clean and comfortable, Natalie at the front desk is always friendly and professional. I like the way that the pricing scale works, much easier to understand than other tattoo places I've been to over the years. I love this place. I think they are putting out arguably the best ink in the area. I worked with Moses and he is the man! He has done three pieces on me, and I am absolutely in love with his work. Amazing lines and wicked smooth shading. Moses is super creative, talented, accommodating, professional, and just a great guy to hang out with while getting tattooed. The price is more than fair for the artwork coming out of this shop. They charge based on needle time, which blows my mind because that pretty much means they do all the drawing and consultations for free. Fantastic deal if you ask me. This was a great experience! I first gave them my idea and was met with something different altogether. After some thought on my part and letting the artists be artists I really loved the idea that Mark landed on. Everyone was so rad! I've had so many compliments. I am not the artist and I have pointed everyone back to Marked Studios. It's just my arm that's all I contributed. I was in Reno for a reunion with my Navy buds in September of 2015. It had been 30+ years since we were together. Anyways my girlfriends and I decided to get anchor tattoos. We checked Yelp since we don't live there and found Marked Studios. Called them up and they were very accommodating in getting us three in. We were lucky to get Mark, the owner and Kenny. Now while we all three wanted anchor tattoos we each wanted them a little different. They couldn't have been more gracious in their service to us. GO TO THIS SHOP. There are not enough stars to give them. First off Natalie at the front desk is genuinely kind and actually wanted to know about me. Andy who did my tattoo made me feel so comfortable and even though my tattoo was small, he put the same amount of effort into it as if I was getting a large tattoo. I have multiple tattoos and I have never been treated this well. Normally tattoo artists look at you like a dollar sign and that's it but the artists here have pride in there craft and major respect in the tattoo you want. I will definitely go out of my way to drive from San Francisco to Reno just to go to Marked Studio again. Thank you! read more

Shaun was very excited during our consultation appointment about what I would like to have done and agreed on a date and time to begin working on my tribute tattoo for my father. These reviewers obviously have not been to Marked Studios. From the first day I entered their studio I felt comfortable. What a great experience today! We made appointments for 4 of us to get very different tattoos. I had Parker, who did an amazing job on a peace sign that was all flowers. His attention to detail was incredible and his eye for choosing complimentary colors for the many flowers was amazing! The shop was extremely clean with really interesting artwork. Everyone was friendly - Parker in particular had a great sense of humor considering he was tattooing an east coaster. I would highly recommend this studio - they are a cut above the rest!!! read more
