Dr. Velez demeanor is very calm and gentle, he is honest, careful, and very trustworthy. I was diagnosed with cushings disease and had an adrenalectomy, one of the stitches didn't heal correctly because of my disease and he corrected the incision. I was terrified to be awake and have him cut out the irritated skin and restitch; he walked me through everything he was doing and gave me such peace during the process. Every time I have seen Dr. Velez he always asks how my cushings /cortisol levels are doing "he truly cares about his patients" it makes the world of difference!

From listening to my symptoms to asking the proper questions and giving me my options and the rationals. Even though I am a registered nurse, I was very anxious, nervous, and scared, but with his thorough explanations I was sure of the surgery and knew I was in good hands. During initial visit he takes your health history, symptoms, along with the actual physical exam. Afterwords he brought me to his office and showed me pictures and a video of what to expect with the surgery. This definitely helped me get a visual of what was going on and what to expect. I highly recommend Dr. Velez as he is professional, compassionate, patient in explaining your condition and options, and you can tell he has a passion for what he does. His medical assistant, Kori was friendly and great during every visit. I shared with her how I was feeling nervous and she shared a story with me which made me feel more comfortable. He was honest with me about the procedure I was inquiring about, and explained that he thought a surgical procedure was unnecessary at this point. He offered alternative methods, which were less invasive. I really appreciated Dr. Wald's honesty because he could've just suggested surgery to make a profit.
