Speech and Occupational and AbA have the most loving therapists we have found. My son loves his ladies and loves coming to therapy.

I can honestly say that this clinic should be closed. My son started coming here for therapy and it was obvious after the first few visits that its not a good place. Our therapists at the time warned me that they would be moving on cause of how they were being treated by the owner. It didn't take long until I got to witness this firsthand. I don't know what makes owners think they can call staff names and treat them like dirt and then act shocked that people quit. This place has a high turnover for a reason. If I could give a negative 5 start I would! I have never dealt with more unprofessional people in my life. My daughter's physical therapist put in a 3 week notice and was that she was going somewhere else to work and she was asked by office staff not to tell her patients because they did not want to lose business because of her leaving. Although they knew three weeks in advance, I was never informed by the scheduler or owner. On her therapists last day I went to the office and asked them what their plan of action was for my daughters care since they had known about this for 3 WEEKS that her therapist would no longer be available to work with her and they told me that they didn't have one and there was no longer room for my daughter at their clinic. It is very clear that they do not have my daughter's best interest in mind and all they want is money! Now we are left dealing with insurance and trying to find care as my daughter falls behind due to their negligence! read more

I gave them a one star for the simple fact their front desk secretary (male) and my kids' therapists were really wonderful. The owner Angie has a nasty mouth and attitude along with her office manager. As a business owner I expected more from her as a prefessional and self proclaimed Christian. Angie claimed to want to know what my concern was but while I was explaining she belittled me, interrupted me, and really had zero concern for assisting me and my concern. Angie came with her gloves on ready to throw low blows. I was accused of not liking Christians and was just all around treated like a second class citizen. I told them to take my children off their schedule and they will never get another dollar from us again. Before hanging up I told Angie she had a nasty attitude and I want you all to know too! Every other speech therapy business in the area has higher ratings than them for a reason. read more

I would give a 0 if I could. Extremely unprofessional, no one does their job correctly. A few of the speech therapists are sweet but the office itself and owner are god awful, extremely unprofessional, she will tell you that your kid will NEED every single therapy possible just to scam you out of money. Vanessa, the "billing" will never get back to you, they don't bill your insurance correctly. read more

Accused of Racism at More than Word Speech Therapy Exit 1 Office Today I was accused of making a racist comment to the receptionist at the Exit 1 More Than Words location. I have had a couple of incidents with the on-duty receptionist at this office and our co-payments. For two weeks the receptionist said he did not know how to use the payment system and asked me to wait on making our co-payment fees until he was sufficient with the system. This took over two weeks for him to become learn how to use the system. Once he knew how to use the system he asked if I wanted to make all my back co-payments; to which I said yes and asked how much? He mumbled and all I heard was something-something 82 something dollars. Apparently 8 am is too early to speak clearly. He charged us $482 and change. We had to have the charge reimbursed and re-worked and paid later on a different card. I was not expecting that amount all at once due to an increase in our co-pay. And since the employee was speaking down at his desk and not enunciating his words clearly, I did not hear the exact dollar amount expected. After that I didn't trust this person with my credit card. My wife made a complaint to the main office that we did not trust this employee with making payments. She made the next payments by phone to the main office. Today (24 MAY 18) during our appointment, I planned to make the payment by phone to the main Dunbar Cave office. I went to my car to make a personal phone call while my son was taken back with the therapist. The receptionist came to the door and asked out loud hanging out the door into the parking lot if I was going to make my co-payment to which I said I I'd take of it. This made me feel like a deadbeat avoiding my payment which I was not. The payment was taken care with the main office which should have shown in the system. I left the office after the appointment was over and was about to pull onto Tiny Town Road. My wife contacted me by phone and stated she received a call from the Exit 1 receptionist and made the payment again by phone - she did not know I made the payment to the main office. I turned around and went back to talk to the receptionist over the charges. We were told the second charge was reversed. It has not been reimbursed as of yet. I told him I didn't appreciate being called out from the front door in front of another parent that I needed to come in and make my co-payment. I told him due to his lack of competence over a few week period with the payment system that i considered him to be incompetent as was the case for at least two weeks when he didn't know how to use the payment system and I did not trust him with our credit card. Then he states as per policy, the payment must be made before the patient goes back to the therapy room. He said this is "policy". I asked for a copy this policy since he didn't practice this during the period he was learning how to use the payment system. He did not produce the policy. Now with the fact I called him incompetent that was later turned into me being informed afterwards that I called him a "little black boy" or "black boy" inferring racism. My wife told me that was the initial reason we were dropped from the program was due to a racist name or statement I made to him and being rude to their employee. I was direct with this receptionist person at the Exit 1 office over our issues we've had with him when speaking to him. We had also called to complain about him previously as well. My son was terminated from the speech therapy program which is perfectly fine. What is not fine is how freely a racism accusation was placed on me without proof and when i addressed this issue I am ignored. I called to speak with a More Than Words staff member at their request and she did not want to discuss this detail or our issues with this receptionist at Exit 1, which is her prerogative. When My wife spoke to the main office by phone and she was "threatened" to having the the footage pulled from the Exit 1 office to prove what happened between me and the receptionist which we welcomed. There is the proof, let's see it. My wife went to the Dunbar Cave office and requested in an incident report in writing showing I made a racist statement to the receptionist at Exit 1 along with the office footage. I wanted it in writing. If you believe your employee's statement it then back it up IN WRITING. My wife was told they did not have to provide a report or the footage of the discussion between myself and the employee. While my wife was standing there at the main office addressing this issue when she was then accused by another woman that stated she was the Administrator, that my wife has never seen or met at More Than Words, of making racist comments to the receptionist at the Exit 1 office as well. Apparently, the people at More Than Words can throw racist accusations onto people without providing proof and are perfectly OK with that. read more

I went to them for three weeks. The therapy's they were using on my child were for a much younger child (a 12 month child) then my son (an 18th month old). I don't feel he made any progress with them. I am now at another clinic in the area making huge improvements. read more
