For those who may not wish to read the lengthy glowing review I'm about to post, I will summarize by saying: I could not be more pleased with our experiences with Lindsay Backus! She is very focused and demonstrates a passion for what she does and sincere care for the children she works with. We saw wonderful progress with both our daughters under her direction. Our first daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate and needed speech therapy for articulation. She saw Lindsay for approximately 18 months. During that time, I recall that Lindsay did additional classes and research on needs of cleft kids to ensure my child's success. My daughter is now 5 years old and I believe her articulation to be above average for her age. Our second daughter was diagnosed with autism at age 2 and began therapy for severe language delay under TEIS (the state program serving special needs children). During that time, we were juggled around to several different therapists until she aged out of that program and into the school system. I was thrilled to find out that Lindsay was available this past summer, as I was looking to bridge the summer gap between semesters so she wouldn't regress. We saw more progress in the few summer months we worked with Lindsay than we had with any of her prior therapists! My daughter just started school back up this week and her teacher is amazed at the language development she has acquired over the summer! Lastly, Lindsay has always been encouraging and supportive of me as a parent. She has equipped me to be able work with my children on our own- a huge part of any successful plan. I found Lindsay online through a google search when I was searching for speech therapists for my son. This was right after the pandemic hit and I was looking for someone to come and work with him before he started kindergarten. I cannot say enough good things about Lindsay. She is thoughtful, educated and resourceful. She always goes above and beyond to help my son. She texts and emails me regularly with feedback, ideas and gives me resources to help my son's progression. She has always celebrated my son's progress and has been a great support to me in this journey, as well. My son has made great progress with Lindsay and she's helped tremendously with his speech pronunciation. He was always excited to see her and we would be continuing if he wasn't starting kindergarten very soon.
