Barb sent a long email to all of the patients, apologizing and displaying her entire personal life, blaming her personal problems for not compensating. We had no warning and it caused our kids emotional distress and to regress. We got lucky and found a stable place to take them. This place and the owner are not stable. To our disappointment both therapists quit abruptly and unexpectedly without notice. Our kids had a very hard time with this as there was no transition period, in fact it hindered and backtracked all the progress they had made. We received an e-mail from Sean that he would no longer be working there due to personal differences and not having been paid by the owner. A few days later I reached out to Autumn because I had a gut feeling something more was going on as she had cancelled her appointment with our son. She as well was leaving due to personal differences and not being paid. From what I gathered due to emails from both Occupational Therapists and the owner Barb, there was quite a bit of conflict with her business and its financial stability. She had sent out an e-mail to the client's apologizing but also displaying her personal life in an unprofessional manor, as to why she's been struggling with keeping Sprocket Therapy open. Thankfully we were able to get them into Cornerstone Pediatric Occupational Therapy in Pleasantview without a wait. As a parent you want the best for your child. To see your child struggle due to something that could have been prevented or fair warned is really frustrating.

Speech noticed that my son was having delays in fine motor skills, and was able to set up a referral to occupational therapy. Occupational therapy noticed my son was toe walking and w sitting, and got the referral to physical therapy. Everything has always been seamless and effortless. Everyone there knows my son and greets him with a smile (and sometimes stickers and lollipops LOL). My guy absolutely loves going there and has gone from being nonverbal to speaking in full sentences, his fine motor skills are almost up to where they need to be, and most of all he's happy! The assessment I received at the beginning was so thorough and informative compared to what I received previously; you can tell she really knows her stuff. Before Maureen, my son dreaded going to speech therapy sessions, I would have to drag him there crying. Now my son literally asks everyday if Maureen is coming over to play with him and he truly enjoys each session. I am always amazed at the fun games and ideas she comes up with to get him to start saying new words. Unfortunately, they are all basically the same: An evaluation is conducted by a recently graduated SLP, weekly therapy appointments are scheduled, and then each week the therapist sits with our son and plays for an hour; while they scribble notes feverishly. In the meantime, our son has shown absolutely NO Progress! I am not saying, we have never had a good therapist, we have; but the good ones shortly move on to a better opportunity. These providers remind me of a "puppy mill" that on the face, look like they are offering genuine quality; but in fact, have no substance, and like the "puppy mill" are only interested in making profit! Too bad it is at the expense, of families with special needs children. Even worse, is the fact that these children, will never get this wasted time back; and for them, this time of early intervention is priceless! KidPro is a breath of fresh air, because they provide an intelligent, unique, and in my mind, obvious approach to helping children with ASD. Since the founders have a background in both Speech Pathology and ABA, it allows them to incorporate both together, as a mechanism to provide more productive therapy services. For example, ABA is used as the vehicle to facilitate the lesson or skills being taught; while Speech Pathology offers the elements necessary for use of his AAC and communication skills. This location is really clean, well organized and have flexible schedules. My schedule at work changes often, and I never had any problem re-scheduling my daughter for another time.
