For over a year, I've sent Reid Property Management complaints and 60+ photos of a neighbor's cat…read morerepeatedly getting on and damaging my vehicle. I now have scratches across my trunk, roof, window area, and hood, and the cat has even gotten inside my car. Their own property rules explicitly address pets causing damage to other residents' property and provide for enforcement and fines. Yet after more than a year of documented complaints and repeated damage, nothing has stopped it. When I called after the most recent damage, the receptionist actually asked whether I had filed a small claims case. It is ridiculous that I should have to take someone to court over an ongoing problem that management has known about for over a year and already has rules specifically designed to address. I previously met with a supervisor, Matt, and was told the owner would be fined. The problem has continued, and after contacting him again about the latest damage, I never received a call back. This is basic property management. Enforce your own rules and address documented problems before residents are left with damaged property and court proceedings. The level of incompetence and lack of follow-through has been unbelievable. Meanwhile, I moved a trash bag outside my door for 30 seconds during a fire alarm inspection, and management immediately photographed it and mailed me a warning. When I started parking closer to the line because this same neighbor routinely double-parked, within two weeks Nellie and the pompous HOA president were outside measuring our spaces, only to discover hers was two feet wider than mine. I even caught this neighbor on camera meddling with my vehicle, and Nellie's response was that my camera needed to come down. Yet 60+ photos and repeated vehicle damage somehow get nowhere. According to HOA President Mary Fredrickson's own legal filing, Reid even considered action against me for "harassing" them with my reviews. Strip away all the noise and the pattern is obvious: legitimate complaints are ignored while the person documenting them is scrutinized and demonized. Selective enforcement, bias, and blatant incompetence. If Reid and I ever end up across from each other in a courtroom, they will have to answer for an extensive, documented history of selective enforcement, ignored complaints, and mistreatment.

Update: I believe the owner has handled this situation with arrogance and intimidation. Yes, we…read moresigned the papers--It doesn't surprise me that he would try to rehash everything publicly rather than take some constructive criticism. I only intended to leave an honest review of our experience with IBA. I stand by my one-star review. As our broker, their job was to represent us and get us the best deal possible--not just push a deal through. The buyers already had their own agent. It became clear that closing the transaction quickly was the priority--not our best interests. That's not just poor service--it's unethical. Mortgage lenders need to know whether they're financing a home or a business. Blurring those lines to push a deal through isn't just questionable--it's potentially harmful. We were not properly represented, and we paid the price for it. I recently posted an honest review about my experience with IBA and noticed they still have a 5-star rating. I probably wouldn't have checked back--except I received a letter from an attorney representing IBA. Here's what it said: "They are chagrined that you posted an online review of IBA suggesting otherwise, and we demand that you remove the review you recently made of IBA NW Business Brokers on Google." To be clear, I shared a truthful account of my own personal experience. I did not name the broker involved, nor did I exaggerate any details. It was a simple, honest, one-star review summarizing what was, for me, a very disappointing experience. I don't appreciate being pressured to remove it. A company that can't accept fair criticism without resorting to legal threats raises serious concerns. There are many business brokers in the Northwest--I'd encourage others to do their research and choose one who values transparency and accountability. Original review: I recently worked with a broker from IBA to sell our business and home together, as the business operated on our property. My daughter and I had one chance to sell the small business we built and dedicated ourselves to for ten years, and unfortunately, we were met with disregard and a lack of respect throughout the entire process. The very first interested buyers ended up purchasing it. While it turned out to be a great deal for them, it was not in our best interest. We felt misled and unsupported from start to finish. If you're a small business owner, I would strongly caution against using this firm. In our experience, their practices were misleading and did not prioritize our needs as sellers.
