Called in order and it was ready when I arrived 15 minutes later. Cashier, order lady was so very nice! Took home and enjoyed the cachetadas, similar to soft beef taco. Delicious! Highly recommend the pastelitos. Small but plump beef filled croquette like pastries. Crunchy on the outside, savory and tasty on the inside. For dessert, the fried plantains. Not too sweet and served with table crema. This food is solid, delicious, fresh made, and they appreciate your business. Highly recommend. read more

This was a to go order. Food was nice and hot. Tamales were a bit mushy for me from the banana leaves vs using corn husk but the flavor was okay, not your "typical" tamales since these are Salvadorians. Pupusas- the mixed were the best ones, we got pork & beef which were both good but the mixed pupusas just had more flavor. Overall, it was okay and something new. read more

The hubby went to pick up bacon breakfast burritos and a couple of pupusas to try. We ate it so fast, we forgot to take photos! The burritos were tasty and not dry at all. We got the cheese, chorizo, and pork pupusas. They were tasty! Even my 5 year old enjoyed the cheese pupusa. We ordered it and picked it up and it was quick. We will definitely order from here again! read more

I am a huge fan of pupusas and had Maritza's Pupusas on my list for over a year before I finally made a trip to Queen Creek. I visited on a weekday around 11am. They weren't busy, but customers started to arrive shortly after. I was greeted upon entering and the staff was patient with me as I asked questions and went through my options. The building is small and cozy, but offers ample seating indoor and out. I decided on the zucchini and cheese pupusa as well as a bean and cheese pupusa. They were $3.99 each and come with pickled cabbage salad and salsa. My order was ready and minutes and I couldn't wait to dig in. I took a bite of one of the pupusas in the car and decided I should probably wait to eat the rest at home. Both pupusas were stuffed with tasty fillings and were excellent! I would order them again. I look forward to returning and trying more items on the menu! read more

Mom and Pop shop/restaurant that's worth a visit! Great flavor and gives you that homemade taste (IYKYK). The pork and cheese papusa was delicious with the coleslaw they give on the side. If you need a pick me up, you can go across the lot to American Ammunition Coffee and grab yourself a cup of joe. Good service and will definitely be coming back. The parking lot is shared with the coffee shop but I had no trouble finding parking. Very low key vibes/ casual atmosphere. There's seating outside too for the cooler days. read more

My husband brought back some Pupusa's one morning and I had no idea what it was! He also got an order of their tamales and their plantains. I think their pupusas were my favorite. They have different types of pupusas stuffed with different fillings. My husband ordered one each! My favorite is the shredded beef and bean and cheese! They come with a side of pickled cabbages and some kind of sauce to dip your pupusas in. Their plantains were my least favorite but I'm not a fan of fried? Bananas? We're a fan though and like to support our locals so we went back again and tried their breakfast burritos and really enjoyed those too! I actually came back one morning after a coffee date with a friend that's next to this place and went inside for the first time and ordered more pupusas! Inside was small but they have plenty if seatings outside too. Service was great! I'm a fan! :) read more

I was somewhat skeptical, given the low health score but the reviews had me trying this place anyway! Yum! This is a casual restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered at the counter and sat down, waiting for take-out. They do allow Grubhub orders here. I had a meh pork tamale - the maza was too wet for my liking and didn't have great texture. The pupusas were delicious! Definitely order these over tamales. read more

Ran to this place on my lunch break, forgot to take pics cause I was in a rush but definitely worth checking out. So many options, got two papusas and the breakfast burrito plate, was really good. Check them out. Service was great too! Nice little quaint place, hidden gem if you ask me. read more

Amazing customer service and the food was amazing .. They had a few did choices and I recommend all of them.

Loved the pupusas - great introduction into Salvadorian cuisine. Service was great too - truly a hidden gem. Didn't love the pork from the yucca platter but you should run to get some agua fresca. read more

As a Salvadoreon these are good, not the best I've ever had but definitely worth getting. Great for if you want a genuine taste of what Salvadoran food is. Have been getting tamales, breakfast burritos, and pupusas weekly now and I'm very happy with each order. Don't have any complaints. read more

Had to try out this Salvadorean restaurant after finding out about it, and it did not disappoint! I had 2 pupusas - loroco and chicharron. I enjoyed both and could taste/see the loroco! The red sauce for the pupusas had a little spicy which was perfect. We also ordered pastelitos and those were incredible. It was crispy even after an hour of being in the takeout box! Would definitely return if in the area! read more

Complete disappointment I placed an order of pupusas and tamales. When I got home I opened my tamales and it was Complete mush. I called the restaurant and got the same older woman who took my order, I explained the situation and she got very defensive and rude and said I needed to let them sit, I then said ok I'll do that and if they do not firm up I'll take them back for a refund and she just hung up on me! At $3.50 a tamale she could have said sure bring back and we'll make it right as every other decent restaurant would and has done. If you visit this establishment I hope you do not have an issue because if you do be prepared to be treated with the utmost awful service, they need to remove that woman she's going to lose them alot of business with that behavior. read more

Maritza's Pupusas - This is suppose to be a pork tamale. - Salvadoran Near Me - Queen Creek, Arizona

I dont recommend this place. The staff is very rude and go as far as blocking you. Their pupusas are not even done well. They mess orders and blame it on the costumer. I even speak spanish them ans still mess up. The restaurant smells moldy and you can smell the stank from the restroom. The moment you walk it smells like something has been rotten for days or weeks. They hold grudges when ask to please not be rude or even want to speak with the owner. They make sure to add you on their do not answer list. Ive called mulitple times and they have caller id and each time I call they pick up just to hang up on me and the moment I use another person phone they pick up. Dont recommend! read more

Came here for the first time with a friend. We were both craving pupusas and it was both our first time here. I got the 2 pupusas that were combination. It comes with pork, beans, and cheese. For my drink I got the special passion fruit agua fresca and I was going to get the flan for dessert, but I was so full from the pupusas. It also comes with pickled cabbage salad and salsa which is a must for the pupusas! There's a large indoor and outdoor seating area. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. This place is in a dirt lot kind of hidden right next to a house and a warehouse. I highly recommend going here if you're ever in the craving for pupusas. read more

I love that there is a spot in the far east valley where I can get pupusas at any time. Go for the combo and get three different pupusas. Most unique is the loroco pupusa. The loroco is an edible flower that offers a very unique flavor experience. It's sort of grassy and floral while slightly earthy. Mixed with cheese and cooked in the dough it's a great match. As they might taste slightly dry make sure you use plenty of curtido with each bite. The restaurant is very small, with an equally small outside dining area, so plan accordingly read more

Had the bean and cheese and cheese and jalapeño pupusas which were delicious. The ones with meat were the best to us , but it's a cute place and the sauce and Cole slaw were delicious. As for the meat pupusas it's just a matter of what you like and those weren't for us . But they get a lot of service read more

The staff is friendly and gave excellent service, the prices are terrific for the quality of food you get, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. I cannot recommend the food enough though, these are some of the best pupusas I've ever eaten! If you enjoy authentic, quality food you should not skip Maritza's! read more

Drove 35 minutes to support this small business. Arrived 25 minutes prior to closing and they told us dine-in area was closed. They should update their establishment's operating hours to 6:30PM. Lost a potential customer(s) and word of mouth. read more

We were visiting this side of town and knew I had to make a stop to try the pupusas. It is a small location on the side of the road, make sure you don't miss it driving by. Customer service was great. Ordered a couple of pupusas, yuca and they have a juice (agua) called fruit salad. The juice has little pieces of fruit in it and it's so refreshing. I recommend to try it. The pupusas are freshly made. Had queso, queso with beans, queso and jalapeño and zucchini and queso. They were all good! Good size too! I can say these are authentic pupusas! So glad to have stopped by, for sure make sure to try them out! read more

RUN TO THIS PLACE WHILE YOU CAN. I've heard this place is closing and a gas station is going in and I'm devastated because not only was the food phenomenal, but the service matched as well. We were guided on the best deal for our big group. We came in with two families--7 kids under 7. And the covered patio was perfect to accommodate all that big energy. Please go and enjoy. Support a small and local business. We just went tonight and I knew I had to leave a review since I'm going to bed and still thinking about those pupusas. read more

Live in the area for the past few years, but never tried this place. Got a burrito for $12 and now I'm shitting for the 12th time today. I guess I should think twice before eating from a restaurant built into a dilapidated house. Didn't see the other posters talking about low health scores either. If you want to pupusa all day then eat here. read more

First time trying their breakfast burritos, papusas & passion fruit agua Fresca . It was delicious!!

Very unique, but similar flavors across the three pupusas I ordered. I got three different ones: bean and cheese, pork and mixed. Definitely made fresh to order and came out piping hot! I'll be honest, if it weren't for the sauce I would probably have given a two rating. The restaurant is very clean and there is ample parking. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Might try something else on the menu if I return. read more

Hands down the best pupusas in east valley area! Don't know what to order? No worries, everything tastes great! We ordered the mixed, chorizo, pork, and zucchini/cheese pupusas. My personal favorites are the chorizo and mixed! We also got an order do the chicken tamale-wrapped in a banana leaf to lock in all the delicious flavors. The tamale had a little bit too much masa and not enough of the meat filling. I'd probably skip this next time and stick with the pupusas. Service is great! The few times we've eaten here, we always ordered ahead and picked up our food. Depending on how busy they are, it'll take about 15-29 minutes for your order to be ready. The location is right at the corner so you can't miss it. I'll always come back when craving papusas! read more

Fantastic hidden gem in Queen Creek!!!!!! Saw it a few times driving past and we decided to stop and try it out for lunch. Super glad we did. It was AMAZING! Pricing is super reasonable for what you get. The staff is friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have about their food. We tried a few different pupusas and they were all fantastic. Do not skip over the fried plantains- they were perfectly cooked. Our pupusas came with large side of salsa and the cabbage topping- both had a fantastic and fresh flavor. We got a boatload of food for about $30 and couldn't even finish it all. We will definitely be returning to Maritza's! In an area that is overrun with fast food and chain restaurants, this is breath of fresh air. Highly, highly recommend. read more

Today was my first time eating here with my father and daughter. I ordered my favorite pupusas de queso and of course platanos! The customer service was excellent! Elizabeth made sure that we were taken care of! Offering water for my baby, to wiping down the high chair, to asking if we wanted the TV on. I love me a place to eat that has great energy and that is exactly what Elizabeth has! Can't wait to come back to eat here. :) read more

This is the second time we've had Maritza's, one was a catered event but this time we stopped in for a to go order. The pupusas and sides are delicious! They came out piping hot out of the kitchen where we watched them make it. It's so common to eat out and the food isn't prepared in house, it's all brought in premade or out of a package. The passion fruit refresher was also yummy! A bonus for me was that most of their food is gluten free! read more
