Tamales were a bit mushy for me from the banana leaves vs using corn husk but the flavor was okay, not your "typical" tamales since these are Salvadorians. I am a huge fan of pupusas and had Maritza's Pupusas on my list for over a year before I finally made a trip to Queen Creek. I visited on a weekday around 11am. They weren't busy, but customers started to arrive shortly after. I was greeted upon entering and the staff was patient with me as I asked questions and went through my options. The building is small and cozy, but offers ample seating indoor and out. I decided on the zucchini and cheese pupusa as well as a bean and cheese pupusa. They were $3.99 each and come with pickled cabbage salad and salsa. My order was ready and minutes and I couldn't wait to dig in. I took a bite of one of the pupusas in the car and decided I should probably wait to eat the rest at home. Both pupusas were stuffed with tasty fillings and were excellent! I would order them again. Mom and Pop shop/restaurant that's worth a visit! Great flavor and gives you that homemade taste (IYKYK). The pork and cheese papusa was delicious with the coleslaw they give on the side. If you need a pick me up, you can go across the lot to American Ammunition Coffee and grab yourself a cup of joe. Good service and will definitely be coming back. My husband brought back some Pupusa's one morning and I had no idea what it was! He also got an order of their tamales and their plantains. I think their pupusas were my favorite. They have different types of pupusas stuffed with different fillings. My husband ordered one each! My favorite is the shredded beef and bean and cheese! They come with a side of pickled cabbages and some kind of sauce to dip your pupusas in. Their plantains were my least favorite but I'm not a fan of fried? Bananas? We're a fan though and like to support our locals so we went back again and tried their breakfast burritos and really enjoyed those too! Had to try out this Salvadorean restaurant after finding out about it, and it did not disappoint! I had 2 pupusas - loroco and chicharron. I enjoyed both and could taste/see the loroco! The red sauce for the pupusas had a little spicy which was perfect. We also ordered pastelitos and those were incredible. It was crispy even after an hour of being in the takeout box! Complete disappointment I placed an order of pupusas and tamales. When I got home I opened my tamales and it was Complete mush. I called the restaurant and got the same older woman who took my order, I explained the situation and she got very defensive and rude and said I needed to let them sit, I then said ok I'll do that and if they do not firm up I'll take them back for a refund and she just hung up on me! At $3.50 a tamale she could have said sure bring back and we'll make it right as every other decent restaurant would and has done. If you visit this establishment I hope you do not have an issue because if you do be prepared to be treated with the utmost awful service, they need to remove that woman she's going to lose them alot of business with that behavior. read more

I dont recommend this place. The staff is very rude and go as far as blocking you. Their pupusas are not even done well. They mess orders and blame it on the costumer. I even speak spanish them ans still mess up. The restaurant smells moldy and you can smell the stank from the restroom. The moment you walk it smells like something has been rotten for days or weeks. They hold grudges when ask to please not be rude or even want to speak with the owner. They make sure to add you on their do not answer list. I love that there is a spot in the far east valley where I can get pupusas at any time. Go for the combo and get three different pupusas. Most unique is the loroco pupusa. The loroco is an edible flower that offers a very unique flavor experience. It's sort of grassy and floral while slightly earthy. Mixed with cheese and cooked in the dough it's a great match. As they might taste slightly dry make sure you use plenty of curtido with each bite. The restaurant is very small, with an equally small outside dining area, so plan accordingly read more

For my drink I got the special passion fruit agua fresca and I was going to get the flan for dessert, but I was so full from the pupusas. It also comes with pickled cabbage salad and salsa which is a must for the pupusas! There's a large indoor and outdoor seating area. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. We were visiting this side of town and knew I had to make a stop to try the pupusas. It is a small location on the side of the road, make sure you don't miss it driving by. Customer service was great. Ordered a couple of pupusas, yuca and they have a juice (agua) called fruit salad. The juice has little pieces of fruit in it and it's so refreshing. I recommend to try it. The pupusas are freshly made. Had queso, queso with beans, queso and jalapeño and zucchini and queso. They were all good! Good size too! I can say these are authentic pupusas! My personal favorites are the chorizo and mixed! We also got an order do the chicken tamale-wrapped in a banana leaf to lock in all the delicious flavors. The tamale had a little bit too much masa and not enough of the meat filling. I'd probably skip this next time and stick with the pupusas. Service is great! The few times we've eaten here, we always ordered ahead and picked up our food. Depending on how busy they are, it'll take about 15-29 minutes for your order to be ready.
