Hubby and I went to Honduras in January and found an Salvadoren papusas stand. They were amazing. We were so excited when we found this place. They are exactly the same. My favorite is cheese and bean. My husband ordered empanadas as well. One potato and one beef. I like the potato best. Everything we had was perfect. The sauce, the fresh cheese everything. Everything is made to order. The service was also great! She answered all of our questions. It is a small place but it wasn't full. The restaurant was clean. I've been craving Pupusas ever since we left North Carolina for Arizona and now I have found my spot. Hubs was very apprehensive at the start, but was a convert by the end of the meal. We took some leftovers home and my kids also said these were some delicious pupusas! I think my eyes got as round as dinner plates when the waitress brought the large lidded jar of pickled slaw with tongs to our table. Yummmm! Wow, Surprise is sleeping on this little restaurant! It's been on my list for awhile and I finally placed a lunch order online for pick up. Online ordering is really easy and I selected a time certain pick up. I was about 10 min early but I only had to wait a minute or two. Women at the counter was friendly and surprisingly no one was inside eating :-( I could see a few other orders waiting for pick up. I ordered the 3 pupusa's. Chicken, carne asada and frijoles. All 3 were amazing, I can't pick a favorite! Sides were beans & rice. The pupusa's were thick and no skimping on the insides. I ate a few bites of each one and was full, that's how filling they are! Papusa Please Today, was our first visit to Salvadoreno Restraunt but we are already looking forward to exploring their menu in the future. The restraunt has the most interesting colorful decor. The staff are extremely friendly, and the food is really good. On this vast we shared papusas, (1 asada, 1 cheese, 1 revueltas pork, beans, and cheese), and a tamale, everything was delicious. The papusas are really good, especially with the slaw and salsa toppings. The papusas were fresh, flavorful, served hot, perfectly crispy on the outside, stuffed with filling, some of the best papusas I've had in a while. My favorite has to be the revueltas, it had so much filling, no skimping at this place. I'd you're in the area give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

What a fabulous dinner. The pupusas are excellent (we had steak, pork,and mushroom). My sister's shrimp salad was also wonderful. Portions were large enough that we each have lunch for tomorrow. And we arrived half an hour before closing - all food choices were available and service was excellent. Do not hesitate to show up even if it's late. read more

Me and the kid decided to try the pupusa combo (steak, shrimp &chicken) with plantains and rice. I explained this was my 1st visit and I asked for easy cheese . Needless to say it was super cheesy and we couldn't tell the difference between the shrimp or the chicken. The Pupusa were thin and Very greasy with minimal protein or flavor. The food was decent. I was craving pupusas and decided to give them a shot. The pupusas were big and cheesy. Not what I expected. I was hoping for mostly meat like I've had in the past. So I was disappointed. HOWEVER... The fajitas, empanadas and nachos were tasty. We also tried the Jamaica Agua Fresca which was also yummy. My kiddos were apprehensive but liked these dishes too. The rice was fluffy. Beans just okay. They had one server who was very nice. The restaurant itself was quaint and clean. This was our first time trying pupusas and definitely will not be the last! Hubs and I wanted something different and we decided on heading to Salvedoreno Restaurant. We walked in and there were 2 ladies cleaning and they helped us right away. We got a 3 pupusa combo which came with rice, beans, a spicy pickled slaw and a sauce to dip in. We got mixed pupuasas and a potato and cheese. Everything is cooked to order and the wait was about 15 minutes. The food was fresh and hot and seriously tasted soooo good!! Tasted like a cross between a flour and corn tortilla stuffed with goodies. They were big and so good. The slaw was spicy but paired great the each bite. The beans were a black bean purée and tasted amazing. The hubs even loved them and he's pretty picky with trying new foods that are foreign to him. I am sad I have slept on pupusas for 34 years but I guess better late than never? We will definitely be back to grab food from here again!! read more

Second time riding take out from this little spot a block away from home. Second time being satisfied. The first go round I ordered the ceviche services salad style, different but very good and flavorful! Also plenty leftover for my lunch the next day! This time we tried the shrimp salad, the chicken salad and of course had to try some pupusa's. The salads were great, nice size and great flavor. The pupusa is not something that we would normally order, not a huge fan of carbs. I can explain them like a filled tamale with basically whatever you want, they have so many options!! Found this place on Yelp. My husband and I are very adventurous when it comes to food and this place DID NOT disappoint. About 15 tables, minimal decor and brightly painted walls. First impression... CLEAN!! Their is a lot of pride in ownership here. My husband and I shared the plantain chips served with pickled slaw and the combo appetizer (I forgot the name).
