2 Pupusa Combo

Sunday brunch tings - freshly prepared and grilled papusas as large as a plate served up with their delicious Red Sauce and Curtido (Pickled Slaw) @salvadorenoazelmirage @salvadorenoaz , Salvadoreño Restaurant #5- Pupusas, located at 12550 W Thunderbird Rd Suite 102, El Mirage, AZ 85335. I found this spot based on five-star Yelp recommendations and reviews! I don't think I would've found it otherwise as it is tucked into a little street mall shopping area. There are seven spots for this restaurant chain throughout California and Arizona, six of them being here in the valley and one being in Riverside, California. I've been craving Pupusas ever since we left North Carolina for Arizona and now I have found my spot. Hubs was very apprehensive at the start, but was a convert by the end of the meal. We took some leftovers home and my kids also said these were some delicious pupusas! I think my eyes got as round as dinner plates when the waitress brought the large lidded jar of pickled slaw with tongs to our table. Yummmm! We ordered: - 2 PUPUSAS COMBO with side of beans and fried plantain slices (squash blossom & cheese papusa, Papa (Potato) & cheese papusa) - 3 PUPUSAS COMBO with side of beans and rice (Revuelta - mixed pork, cheese & beans papusa, Chicharron (Pork) & cheese papusa, Pollo (Chicken) and cheese papusa) - Mexican Fanta Orange Soda @fanta - Unsweetened Iced Tea - Combo de (3) Tamales: Pollo (Chicken), Pisques (Frijoles Negros (Black Beans)), Chipilin con Queso (Leafy Green Vegetable with Cheese) To-Go There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options here. Men's and women's restroom available inside for customers.

Wow, Surprise is sleeping on this little restaurant! It's been on my list for awhile and I finally placed a lunch order online for pick up. Online ordering is really easy and I selected a time certain pick up. I was about 10 min early but I only had to wait a minute or two. Women at the counter was friendly and surprisingly no one was inside eating :-( I could see a few other orders waiting for pick up. I ordered the 3 pupusa's. Chicken, carne asada and frijoles. All 3 were amazing, I can't pick a favorite! Sides were beans & rice. The pupusa's were thick and no skimping on the insides. I ate a few bites of each one and was full, that's how filling they are! Plus, the red sauce/salsa is strangely addicting, couldn't stop dipping my pupusa in it. Definitely check out this place out!

Papusa Please Today, was our first visit to Salvadoreno Restraunt but we are already looking forward to exploring their menu in the future. The restraunt has the most interesting colorful decor. The staff are extremely friendly, and the food is really good. On this vast we shared papusas, (1 asada, 1 cheese, 1 revueltas pork, beans, and cheese), and a tamale, everything was delicious. The papusas are really good, especially with the slaw and salsa toppings. The papusas were fresh, flavorful, served hot, perfectly crispy on the outside, stuffed with filling, some of the best papusas I've had in a while. My favorite has to be the revueltas, it had so much filling, no skimping at this place. I'd you're in the area give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

$5 dólares por unas pupusas mal elaboradas que por que no las hacen de la forma que es, nose si son ovaladas o quisieron hacer un Mickey mouse horribles las compré para los maestros de mi hija pero me da vergüenza. Overpriced!

Delicious papupas combo. Comes with slaw and sauce and two sides. Highly recommended. Service was awesome. Lots of take away traffic with the tables full. I will be back.

Pupusa's

Great food best pupusa's. I've had in a long time full of flavor and the staff was really nice.

Me and the kid decided to try the pupusa combo (steak, shrimp &chicken) with plantains and rice. I explained this was my 1st visit and I asked for easy cheese . Needless to say it was super cheesy and we couldn't tell the difference between the shrimp or the chicken. The Pupusa were thin and Very greasy with minimal protein or flavor. Plantain and rice was cold . Im not sure if it's worth trying them again.

The food was decent. I was craving pupusas and decided to give them a shot. The pupusas were big and cheesy. Not what I expected. I was hoping for mostly meat like I've had in the past. So I was disappointed. HOWEVER... The fajitas, empanadas and nachos were tasty. We also tried the Jamaica Agua Fresca which was also yummy. My kiddos were apprehensive but liked these dishes too. The rice was fluffy. Beans just okay. They had one server who was very nice. The restaurant itself was quaint and clean. Definitely willing to go back for the fajitas and appetizers, which didn't disappoint.

Food was delicious although some items had a bit too much grease / oil …read more Sadly, the empanadas absorbed too much oil and all you could taste was the oil which was unfortunate. It lacked a crisp crust. Filling was tasty. The horchata was sooo good I wanted free refills ! The pupusas were large and had a good amount of filling and they should be at $5.00 per pupusa. They were 45 cents in El Salvador 22 years ago for comparison. The loroco and cheese was really good ! Revuelta también! The tamale was stuffed but it was too soggy for my liking. Like some water got into the inside of the banana leaf during the cook . Overall it was a great little rincón guanaco ! Try it out. Service was all smiles and fast considering they were busy. Ambience is rustic nice and clean. Wish they played more Salvador music. Hello cumbias ! They were playing a great deal of "fuerza regida" which is good listening too.

Was craving pupusas and found this place on Yelp. The reviews did not lie. The pupusas are made…read morefresh, which meant a bit of a wait (about 35 minutes of sitting and waiting), but they were absolutely worth it. We ordered the 3-pupusa combo with 2 sides for $17.40, which was totally worth the price. We tried the pork and cheese, squash and cheese, edible flower with cheese, and grilled steak with cheese. Every single one was so good. It was my first time trying edible flower with cheese, and it ended up being my favorite. Super flavorful and generously packed with filling. For the two sides, I got yuca frita and rice and beans. I liked how hot n crispy the yuca frita was and the rice and beans were delish. The Salvadoran horchata was HUGE and cost $5.90, which felt very reasonable for the size. Overall, everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm craving pupusas.
