Marisolio Tasting Bar is AMAZING!!! What a wonderful find. As a person in recovery I do not visit wineries. Being able to taste a huge variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars was a great treat. My favorites were the porcini olive oil and the pomegranate vinegar. And I can't forget to mention the staff. What a great bunch of people. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Roberta and her team provide a very pleasant shopping experience in their great little shop in Murphys. I cook with a variety of oils, so their extensive selection gives me the convenience of one stop shopping for very tasty and well made products. For the last two years, I've been adding the Black Truffle Oil to various dishes. It always pleases and elicits comment of the unique flavor truffles provide. This is an easy way to have the truffle flavor without the expense of buying the delicate fungi. They don't keep very long, so using the oils make it very easy. Take a look at their delicacy oils. It's enough to stock even the best five star kitchens. So far, two of our favorite infused olive oils are the Tuscan Herb and the Whole Lemon selections. We have just about all of their oils, but these two drain quicker than most. The nice thing is if you don't have the opportunity to visit their shop, order some by mail. You will be pleased. The labels say exactly what you get. No surprises. This shop was a unique addition to an otherwise wine oriented town. Amazing selection! Delicious combos of oil and vinegar! And fun! This is a new concept to me (maybe that it is common place elsewhere, but not that I have seen). It is a tasting room for oils and vinegar, just like a wine tasting, but yummier! The selection is seemingly endless! Amazing flavors like organic tuscan herb olive oil and their traditional 18yr aged balsamic vinegar is to die for! This is now my go to place for quick gifts, you don't have to be a "foodie" to enjoy the yumminess that is Marisolio. And if you are entertaining out of town folks a great break from just wine tasting. As mentioned by someone else on here, they can get kind of busy on weekends so be aware, you can taste all by yourself and always order online if you don't want to wait in line to pay. That said during the week when they are slower and you can get more personal attention it is really fun! read more

Was with my friend who was returning a bottle that didn't taste the way it did at tasting. After previously spending over $100 the manager said she felt it tasted fine and maybe she could just buy a balsamic to mask the flavor!!! I was so shocked that they didn't want a happy customer!! They then responded to her point that she really didn't like the taste and wasn't what she'd anticipated by saying she shouldn't have opened it!!! Wow...how do you find out the taste isn't good without opening it!! They must know something I don't. I know I would never want a disappointed customer, never mind one that will never return nor will their friends! Not ideal for a small local business??? read more

The ladies working here are so friendly and they are knowledgeable with the products and which balsamic vinegars and oils pair well together. I definitely I took the opportunity to try different oils and balsamic vinegars. The oil tastes so fresh and pure and light, that I can use it in dressings or even for regular cooking. read more

Stopped here while in town with some friends this last weekend. I'm not a huge oil person, but I love balsamic vinegars. I was very excited to see a huge wall with tons of flavors to try. Everything is try-able here and they also give bread to help with sampling. I didn't find one that I didn't like. I finally was able to decide on two flavors. The gravenstein apple balsamic and the raspberry balsamic. I am quite excited to finish these bottles so I can go get some more! I highly recommend if you're in town! read more

My husband and I walked in to Marisolio in August and we tried just about every oil and vinegar they had out to taste. We went home with two vinegars and two olive oils. The next weekend I took them to my daughter's house with a loaf of bread, some tomatoes and basil and some fresh Mozzerella cheese. Everybody went crazy for them. I bought Blood Orange Olive Oil, Tangerine Balsamic, Peach White Balsamic and Tuscan Herb Olive Oil. I have since order (online) two more Blood Orange Olive Oils and another White Peach, plus Raspberry and Pomegrante. The Blood Orange oil and White Peach Balsamic with a little raw honey and some seasoning make the perfect summer salad dressing. And last week I tossed some cubed Butternut squash in it and roasted then made a glaze of the White Peach, Honey (a dash of the Blood Orange Oil) and some seasoning with a little butter at the end. My husband can't stop talking about it! I am SO glad I can buy this stuff online! I need more Blood Orange and White Peach! I think I will give my best friend some for Christmas! read more

I heard about this shop from the Spice Tin in Murphy's. The staff at the shop were so helpful and very patient. I tasted so many different flavors of balsamic vinegar that I had never even heard of. They were wonderful, all of them. The tangerine was light and exploded in my mouth along with the Juniper blueberry. The olive oils were light and beautiful. I have to go back because I now know that I can no longer settle for they everyday olive oil and balsamic vinegars. I'm an adict now. read more

What an amazing experience! This little store on Main Street Murphys has more olive oils and vinegars than I ever expected. The flavors are so diverse. I had a great time trying and pairing everything from a garlic herb olive oil and an aged balsamic to a lime olive oil and a dark chocolate vinegar. Don't come to Murphys without stopping at Marisolio! You can easily spend an hour here tasting all of the oils and vinegar. I'm lucky enough to live locally, but any time I stop in here... I leave with at least 2-4 new flavors. The Italian Herb Olive Oil is amazing to cook with EVERYTHING. It has become my new regular olive oil. The maple vinegar is delicious on fried sweet potatoes and the lemon white balsamic & white peach balsamic are delicious on any salad. read more

It took me a while to finally make it to Marisolio but now that I have I don't buy olive oil anywhere else ! I love the variety that they offer and that they have quite a few organic olive oils. It's great that you can sample different oils and vinegars before you purchase, although I don't think I'll ever get used to "drinking" straight olive oil! What I really love, though, is that I can bring my empty bottles back for refill and get a discount for doing so. Also, they give you a stamp card to keep track of your purchases and you will eventually earn a free bottle of your choice. The service is incredibly friendly, though it can be a bit slow when they are busy...that just gives you more time to browse and sample new things. read more

Tasty olive oils and balsamic vinegars, we always would re-stock when we were in the area. We brought in one of their bottles to re-use and it apparently was not clean enough. I asked if they had a sink where I could wash it out better. The woman said no and rolled her eyes at us. She said was very rude and even said, "We have signs all over I don't know why people don't read them." It is a good place if you don't mind horrible customer service where the staff cannot explain something simple in a friendly manner. We won't be making that stop anymore! read more

There is an amazing variety of oils and vinegars. We tried countless blends and ate a rather large amount of bread chunks. The manager was wonderful and "made" us her favorite blends. Great concept but turned out to be a big waste of time. On a busy passport weekend, there were only 2 people working there with a crowd of of people needing help. So after spending time tasting and picking out what I wanted the wait to have my order bottled was ridiculously long and then I was told to wait on another ridiculously long line to pay. The prices were very reasonable and they had an awesome selection! My favorite vinegars were the peach and white grapefruit. You can either drink the olive oil/vinegar straight up, or dip it in sourdough bread. It's located in a cute little shop, with wine tasting in the back. Not only do you have a huge selection of olive oils (my favs are blood orange and garlic, had to have a bottle!) and balsamic vinegars but there is also a corner of the shop where La Folia pours wine tastings. A really fun foodie place to visit. By trying a vast array of olive oils, you can really nail down what traits appeal to you. Go when you have plenty of time, and try to taste the oils bare (without bread), if you can. Don't like olive oil? Try some of the vinegars like Dark Chocolate or Espresso Balsamic - yummy! This is definitely a place worth visiting. They had samples of the best olive spread I've ever had. Unfortunately, they ran out of it, so I could not purchase a jar! I'd like to order it on line, but their website is not up yet. You can sample pretty much everything. They have all things olive, olives, olive oils,( olive shampoo, and olive conditioner made in Italy), olive spreads, and wonderful balsamic vinegar. Nice folks work there. Plus there is a spice and salt shop around the corner called The Spice Tin. Murphys CA is a wonderful place to visit. There's also a good bakery/cafe a couple doors down, Aria , I think, and a good pet shop, and much more. I live in 6 hrs south! Check out the town of Columbia too, if you are in the area. read more

My experience with this vendor was not first hand. It was the experience of a co-worker. Work place is in San Andreas. She called Marisolio to find out what their closing time was and was told it was 5pm on this particular day. She left in plenty of time to make the drive to Murphys well before 5pm but found the sign on the door said closed. Since she saw employees still present, she knocked and pointed out that it was not yet 5pm. She was told the "last tasting" was at 4:45. My co-worker explained she did not want to taste, she knew what she wanted to buy, but alas "the register" was closed for the day. She explained she called and the employee acknowleged that yes, she remembered talking to her. The employee sighed and reluctantly offered to "re-open" the register. My co-workder declined the offer. She did however trek on up to Alchemy who gladly took her money. Because of this, there are several potential customers of this person and their friends and family who will not be visiting Marisolio. Not the way to do business in a small community dependent on word of mouth for a great portion of their sales. read more
