Looking back, I could not believe it had been 2 years since I'd visited Mariscos Vallarta. I remembered the first time I came the food was very good, so I was happy and excited to be back. The restaurant layout and seating hasn't changed, it is still small and mighty. It gets busy too, so when we arrived it was a good time, before noon because we were able to get a table and our order taken quickly. The location of the restaurant is in an old building, and they do fry some foods in Mariscos Vallarta, so it does have a fried food smell to it. It is nothing alarming, but I feel like when we left, we smelled a like oil. This particular day, we had a taco and some of their bacon wrapped shrimp, the camarones a la costa azul. I had the Campechana camaron y pulpo, a shrimp and octopus cocktel- and a preparada; a prepared drink with pacifico. Everything was as delicious as I remembered. It hit the spot, and it left me satisfied. The seafood tasted fresh, the bacon wrapped shrimp was hot and delicious, and the price they charge for the amount of food you get is worth it absolutely. The service was top notch, our server kept checking on us, she was prepared with everything we would need, and our food came out quickly. If you're in the area, or need/want to try a different Mariscos spot, Mariscos Vallarta is a must try!

Home made chips and salsa

This place is an East Side Vegas's gem. They specialize in sea food. I love this place. I've been coming here for years. I usually order fish tacos but today, I ordered A La Manteqila. They make the tortilla chips here too and salsa is home made and they are really good. Just go there. I recommend anyone who loves fish tacos. The service is friendly as well. Highly recommended.

Example of their beverage prices updated as of July 15 2024.

Amazing taste of a homemade seafood, Jalisco style flavor. No other seafood restaurant around has the prices so affordable. If you really like authentic Jalisco style Mexican seafood with very affordable prices and excellent service. This is the place to go.the the prices below. After 16 years since they open, they still continue with the same quality and affordable prices. Thank you Mariscos Vallarta!

Camarones Empanizados (Deep-fried shrimp)
Jay A.

A very simple place with decent food at a fair price. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to sneer at either. No decor to speak of - an open kitchen with diner-style seating. But the food is consistently tasty. I was concerned when my shrimp arrived looking like it might be dry and overcooked. Not to worry! It was perfect. The rice, beans, & tortillas were basic, but fine. The salad was unimpressive, but at least it was fresh and crisp. A 7-Shrimp dinner with a beer for $21 - not bad!! I'll have to get more adventurous with the flavors next time.

Fish Tacos

Great customer service. Greeted on arrival. Answered every question I had. And the food was fire. I got the fish tacos with no sour cream of course. The flavors really surprised me and filled me up. I couldn't finish all three. Will be back!

loaded oysters

It's a local hidden spot and the fully loaded oysters are 10/10 and reminds me of authentic mexican seafood from mexico. They have cheap drinks and it's a hole in a wall gem. The service is excellent. Ambiance is lit dive bar.

Kind of a hole in the wall but the service was good and the food was great. The horchata needed a bit more cinnamon and was very thin/watery but still tasted good.

The food was really good with a nice selection, so good for a bigger group. That sourdough bread was deeeelicious and I could have just eaten a whole plate of that. I can be a snob about cocktails and this one was on point. Service could not have been better. Everyone was really accommodating and our server was extremely patient with some of the more difficult members of our family. This alone would make me want to go back to this restaurant. From outside, it looks like an auto shop/warehouse building but once you go inside, it's a fun restaurant with a nice bar with TVs to watch sports. The service was wonderful. Everyone was very nice and caring. They really took care of my gf and I when we sat at the bar. We got 12 oysters with anchovy chili lime. It was incredible. After, we got the crispy rice and a few handrolls (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura). I highly recommend asking for their spicy habanero sauce. It's actually spicy! (Which I love). We ordered cocktails from a very limited menu. Our waiter wasn't sure how to make the lemon drop martini on the menu but said he'd try to follow the recipe. We asked for Grey Goose but watched him pour shelf vodka. Drinks were served after the appetizers arrived even though they were ordered first. We started with oysters. Waiter said they only had two kinds tonight so we ordered 6 of each. He set them down and left to get tobasco we requested. When he returned we asked which were which he said "we only had one kind so they're all the same." I feel he should have told us before serving them since they were $4 each! I ordered coippino which at $46 was expensive but I wanted a treat. Hubby ordered large clam chowder in bread bowl and Caesar salad. Cioppino lists first ingredient as crab. What I was served had no crab, 2 overcooked shrimp and rubbery calamari. The sauce was flavorful but so disappointing otherwise. I asked about the crab and was told "no crab" and I was offered additional scallops as compensation. He brought three small scallops on a plate. Hubby was served two small bread bowls of chowder with the explanation of "we are out of large bowls". Again, it should have been discussed prior to serving that there was a substitution. Who wants two big loaves of bread bowl??? The salad adequate-- a big bowl of romaine with croutons with a side of dressing. All in all not worth the over $150 it cost. Not in the least! And they charge an extra 3% if you use a credit card. We will not be back.

Service: excellent! The servers have worked here for years, so you know they have pacing down to a science. Drink orders were taken right away. Then warm bread is served. Apps are dropped with time to digest a little before the meal. Servers check in without being overbearing. The entertainment also makes for an unforgettable experience. They sing the classics and encourage the cowed to join. It feels like your home, or at least visiting Nona's Sunday dinner. What I love about supporting this place is that they explain why tiki culture is popular with Italians. I had no clue. When I saw a tiki bar attached to the restaurant, I just thought it was a gimmick, but after reading about it, I thought it was the coolest thing. I love how they preserve this unique collaboration and influence of Polynesian culture. Also, my hubby is a big fan of the Jersey Shore. We had to check it out since they filmed there several times. Since their recent opening, they have had some slow nights that warranted closing up earlier than their posted hours -- something to keep in mind. They also only seem to be serving "mocktails" at the moment (no alcohol). Dine in to enjoy live music on weekends! So how's the food? I really had high hopes because I enjoy some good Cajun-style seafood and their menu (especially during weekends) offers great variety from Frog Legs and Oysters "Rockafella" to Gumbo and Seafood Boil. They even offer several Vegan entrees and dessert. Unfortunately, the dishes I tried just didn't hit as expected. Surf & Turf Burger. Big, plump shrimp with no shortage of ooey gooey cheese but even with the plethora of sauces and seasonings, the flavors didn't quite pop. Just a standard burger with added shrimp. Good bun, though, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Grilled Salmon & Shrimp. Again, great presentation of seafood and creamy sauce filled with various goodies like crawfish, all WITH a generous helping of cheese grits. Sounds heavenly but not a dish for which I'd go out of my way. Shrimp was perfectly tender but salmon was dry and definitely needed the sauce. Good Sizzler/Texas style garlic toast on the side. Seafood Potato With Salad. Okay, this was the main event that drew me to this place but WOW, was I disappointed. It was literally a baked potato broiled with seafood and cheese. I expected much more flavor. For some reason, the cheese grits accompanying this dish had an unpleasantly pungent, foot-like aroma and taste that was not as noticeable in the Salmon dish, possibly attributed to the cheese blend? I really wanted to report back with glowing praises, especially since the owners and staff are so warm and welcoming! I hope my remarks help this business grow and improve with time. I would still return for the music and intimate, speakeasy atmosphere.
