All the food was fresh and tasty, with some surprise stand outs. Tuesday gulf oysters are $1 and wings are $1 during Rockets/Texans games. Luckily we got to take advantage of both specials! Good value otherwise also. Crawfish $8.99/lb *market, good size and flavor Crab chowder Oysters Edamame Fried mushrooms Bang bang shrimp Crab fingers - very meaty! Tater tots - super crispy! Salmon and garlic noodles Hot honey and buffalo wings Miso mussels A separate hand washing station would have been nice as there was only 1 male and 1 female restroom which led to some waiting around. The front door faces Memorial Hermann not I10. Parking is shared and can be limited.

I really wanted this to be a hit. Seafood, oysters, alcohol....vibes and a time right? It wasn't…read more I tried the bang bang shrimp, fried pickles, and chargrilled oysters. Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough. But at some point, you stop asking what's missing and just accept that it's not landing. I was still hungry so I went next door hoping for a better experience. I want to be clear: It's not bad. It's just not working.

Every time my parents come to visit they request to come here! I shop often at the bodega next door (see my review for Granel) and I was starving one day after grabbing all of my spices. I checked this place on Yelp and noticed it's been around for over 40 years. That was good enough for me! Imagine freshly fried fish (corn or flour available!) like you're at the family cookout served with a side of fried rice from your favorite Chinese restaurant! All for less than $15! I order the same combo every time, the two pieces of bass cornmeal battered, 5 shrimp and the fried rice. I'm not a fan of ceviche but my homegirl and her mom ordered it and said it was amazing! The three of us ate for less than $50! Left full and content. If you find yourself in this area and you like fresh fried fish, this place does not miss!!!

The service was great--the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything arrived hot and fresh. As for the food, the seafood is tasty and seasoned perfectly; the fried shrimp and fish had a great crunch, and the shrimp fried rice is a must-try. The best part is that everything is reasonably priced for the generous portions you get. It's a reliable, "no-frills" staple in Houston that stays true to its roots. I'll definitely go back!

This hole in the wall burger joint hits the spot. The bacon cheese burger was perfect, the meat…read morepatty was well cooked and savory. The vegetables like the lettuce and onions were fresh. The bacon was crispy just how I like it. The fish and fries were just made and were hot and crispy. I called in the order ahead of time, and when I arrived, the owners were preparing my order. Cons, not much of a sitting area only two bench tables available. This place is located in a rough area and there's lots of homeless people. Overall, by far one of the best burger joints I've been to.

Walk up to the window and the gentleman asked my order and I decided on the 3 fish, 6 shrimp, sub fried rice instead of fries. I then asked for my fish to be catfish, he stated "no". I asked my fish to be trout, he stated "no". I then asked what fish do you have? He answered "Tilapia". I asked again, so no other fish than tilapia? He answered "nope". So I went ahead with my order and 10 minutes later its out and I head back to the office. In route, I decide to try a shrimp and a piece of fish and immediately knew....I wasted $15. The shrimp, despite the medium/large tail size were small, rubbery and the lack of shrimp size made up for with extra batter. The fish filet were very egg-y although they seemed to be store bought battered frozen. I decided to wait until I got to the office to try to finish the rest. Upon arrival, took a few pics and tried the fish and shrimp again and just couldn't. I tossed it to the trash and ate the fried rice. The mom and pop were very nice (1 star) but the seafood was not. Maybe the burgers or chicken wings are why google maps reviewers have them at 4.5 stars???. FYI...as I sit here typing this review 30 mins later...I'm in need of gum due to this film/taste I have in my mouth from the fish/shrimp :(
