Went on a Friday afternoon, was pretty dead which was great for me! Food was overall good, the ceviche mixto botana had a really good flavor, nothing tasted off! We had a mixed ceviche platter to share, not only was it incredibly delicious, but it was also well served & at the perfect point in terms of flavor. Coming from San Diego only 1 mile from the Mexican border I didn't expect much from this place. WOW i was wrong. The aqua chile was better then any i have ever had from San Diego or Tijuana beaten only by one i ate in Mazatlan Mexico. The molcajete plate was also amazing. I just coming here hands down. Vegas Mexican food? Let's do it, coming from California I had to give it a shot. Got me 2 shrimp tacos and a Gobernador, along with rice and beans. The shrimp tacos had good flavors to them, overall nothing stood out that crazy but they weren't bad, especially with the green salsa. The Gobernador taco had too much cheese to be honest. It didn't really need all those bell peppers either, wasn't a big fan, the cheese overpowered everything. My friend had the shrimp in a chipotle sauce. SO good, both of them. I kept stealing his sauce. House made beans, house made rice, hand made tortillas, & GOOD house made salsa with at least 6 different bottled chile sauces on the table. And the Tres Marias margarita sampler was da bomb!!! All the sides complimented the main dishes beautifully. And service was warm & friendly even as we practiced our broken Spanish with the server. Loved the decor & ambiance. First thing I would like to say is that we have been visiting this restaurant since 2021 and every visit has been in May after attending a 3 day music festival. This last visit we brought all of our friends with us and let me tell you I have some picky friends! Everybody in my group had something they could order and each and every one of them absolutely loved it! We always get agua chiles verdes and a molcajete! The shrimp was fresh and beautifully marinated and the molcajete was flavorful. We had the option to change the sauce and had it drowned in garlic instead of chile sauce and it was delicious! The micheladas there are also savory and spicy. I am always eager to order one! Every time we visit Las Vegas we're sure to come and visit this place. We hope it stays open forever because we are always bragging about this restaurant to our friends! 4.5/5 Just wish there weren't crackheads in the parking lot. lol read more

I've been coming to vegas once a month since the beginning of 2025, i'm from LA but i travel all around the place for work. being mexican and also having eaten mariscos from Sinaloa, Nayarit etc. I'm very picky with mariscos. So far this has been the best aguachiles, tacos de marlin & ceviche i've had in town. this place doesn't say there from Sinaloa but their sauces are amazing and the quality is there. My second time coming here, the other places i found on yelp are over rated in my opinion. service is great and it's a small hole in the wall which makes perfect sense why it's a hidden gem. i'll definitely continue coming back. i think they deserve more acknowledgement! give it a shot. won't be disappointed especially if you love spicy aguachiles read more

Oh my goodness, Mariscos Playa Escondida was delicious! Although people flock to the Strip in Vegas, this downtown Mexican restaurant was one of the more memorable meals we had during our trip. Get out and about! We had plans to eat at a different restaurant, but figured that since good Mexican food is hard to come by in the Seattle area, we should get our grub on while in Vegas. So we looked on Yelp and found Mariscos Playa Escondida, which specializes in seafood. We quickly called to see if we could make reservations and the employee said if we arrived soon there would be a table for us. Done and done. Located in the downtown area of Vegas in a small business strip, it really is a hidden gem for those visiting the area. There was outdoor seating, in addition to the small dining room we sat in. While there, we were the only patrons who didn't speak Spanish, so we knew this place was the real deal. If you check-in on Yelp, you get a free hibiscus drink. Sweet! After drinks, we started with a shrimp ceviche and ordered a seafood platter, which was sooo bomb! The seafood platter for two persons or more came with shrimp, scallops, crab legs, fish, fried fish, squid and sautéed veggies, with housemade corn tortillas, a side of rice, beans, lime and lettuce to make tacos. The different flavors of the fresh seafood with the chilis, peppers and veggies were incredible. You bet my fat ass we ate every bit of it, even if it was a struggle towards the end. I'm really glad we found this restaurant, as there was an abundance of seafood with all the flavors that you love from Mexico.
