We were in Rosarito for a quick little birthday getaway and found this place. I love fish tacos & they had great reviews. We parked on the street(plenty of parking) we walked in and were greeted right away. We ordered fish tacos and shrimp tacos. They make them right in front of you and ask you how you want them prepared. I ordered 3 fish tacos and my boyfriend ordered 2 fish tacos & 2 shrimp. The tacos are HUGE FRESH & DELICIOUS ! I was full after 2 but couldn't bare to waste the 3rd one so I stuffed myself. We will definitely be back. Also there was a guy walking around letting people try the fresh cheeses he made. They were delicious. We will now add this to our rotation everytime we are out here. So good. Also if you don't speak Spanish they do speak english so you don't have to worry. This place is walking distance from my bestfriend's mom house. The service is fast and efficient. The mariscos are fresh. I had the tostada ceviche de pescado which had a lot fresh fish seasoned to perfection mixed with the right amount veggies. A nice cold cerveza with the ceviche hit the spot. read more

Incredible seafood tacos in Rosarito. Shout out to my friend for bringing me here and showing me the ropes. Here's how it works: you order at the counter and receive these tiles with symbols on them to represent each taco you ordered. Then bring them over to the counter where employees are preparing the food and trade them in for you order. Each time I've been here, the food has been amazing - I'm half joking/half serious when I say you could randomly pick anything on the menu and it'd be tasty. All the different variations of fish and shrimp, combined with extremely flavorful sauces. Neat open-air seating. And of course this being Baja, prices are beyond reasonable. Went for a motorcycle ride in Mexico, rode all the way down to Ensenada. On the way back, I stopped in Rosarito, and found this place via Yelp.I don't speak a whole lot of Spanish, so I was pretty confused when I first walked into the place. Luckily a fellow American saw my confusion, came over and told me how to order food. He recommended the Cabo taco, which is the first thing on the menu. Damn good recommendation! The Cabo taco is a delicious example of a taco done right with seafood and avocado. It had shrimp, beef, and avocado, with a very nice sauce of some sort. I sat down at a table, spooned on some onions and cilantro. Then I devoured it. Delicioso! Not sure if I'll go to this place next time I visit Rosarito but it's not a bad place to start. I was brought here once by a local many years ago. Thankfully, navigating Rosarito wasn't that hard so once I returned I trusted my gut, turned a corner and found it! I'm still flabbergasted that I managed to remember where this place was and how to get there. I've since brought friends and family to check it out. Every now and then I look to see if it's still there via google maps. Anyway, these are my favorite fish tacos in the whole world! I dream of them. In fact, if the wait to cross the border wasn't increasingly ridiculous I'd make the trip more often. This is a local spot, a hidden gem, Spanish is required. The whole operation can be kind of confusing because you order what you want, are handed some chips, and then you have to hand the chips to the cooks. When in rosarito and in need for some delicious seafood tacos you got to try this place! I went early morning to avoid the long lines it can hold in the afternoon. I went ahead and order a pulpo taco, a shrimp taco and a cabo taco which is their specialty taco they offer. I also order a caldo de camaron! Their seafood tacos are big, Im a heavy eater and three tacos got me super full! Every bite was tasty and the the cooks were amazing. My husband says these are the best fish tacos he has ever had. It was my first time eating tacos in Mexico but I was not disappointed. I recommend you stick with their traditional fish taco: taco con pescado. We tried the Cabo Monster which had fish, steak, avocado, and cheese. It was ok, very difficult to eat as a taco as the meat was so heavy and hot you couldn't lift the little soft tacos without them ripping. I wasn't a fan of the globs of cheese that did taste great but the tons of calories did make me feel a bit guilty. I'm sure the taco was also fairly unhealthy as the fish was deep-fried and there was a good amount of dressing on the taco but you just need a couple to keep you full for the day! It is quite big for a taco stand and there is plenty of covered seating so no need to worry about that! We went for a little walk after the tacos but the surrounding town doesn't have much to offer. There is a nice beach a couple blocks away but as it was wintertime when we went it was too cold to enjoy it much. Maybe next time we will go in the summer! read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would, i was eating my shrimp taco when I bit into something that couldn't be chewed upon further inspection I see it is a wet piece of paper towel or toilet paper. BOMB! Love this place. It's simple. You order, get a little card thing, give it to the cook and they make your food in front of you. Can get a bit busy but they're streamlined so you'll get your food! You can see them making it, dipping the fresh fish/shrimp and creating your dish! Would come again! read more

Great family restaurant. We celebrated my father in laws birthday here. They were able to comfortably accommodate a big party which included a few kids, on very short notice. The tacos are a good size but plain tasting even after I've put the mayo, lime, and hot sauce on top. It tasted bland and a bit bitter. So damn good! Walk up place your order and get you tiles to take them over to the food prep area. They bring you Fish tacos that have so much fish you can't wrap your lips around. Aqua frescas so delicious to compliment! Shrimp tacos are to die for along with ceviche tostadas! Go get some! read more

Great fish tacos and everything else! This place is a little "off the beaten path" but still convenient to down town and worth finding. Love the assembly line set up for all your fish taco, ceviche, shrimp cocktail and caldos de mariscos needs. They're clean, efficient and delicious. What else could you ask for? Just stop going to any other spot for fried fish and shrimp tacos, and go over to Mariscos los Cabos! We tried several other spots for fish tacos and none were as good as Mariscos los Cabos. So many taco shops don't season their shrimp and fish before they fry, but our tacos were perfectly seasoned and crispy. read more

Amazing tacos... from Marlín (fried marlin in a small flour tortilla so crispy and delicious), the Gobenador and the NY taco (shrimp and carne asada) as well as the classic pescado. They use cole slaw on all of their tacos... Oh, and the mixed cocktail isn't bad either! The guys in here are super helpful and friendly too. Highly recommended, especially if you stop at the Oxxo and bring your own beer to drink with those tacos makes a tasty treat. Definitely worth stopping in! read more

This place has the best seafood consume soup. Too bad they didn't have similar restaurants in Cali. I would pay for this recipe. It's amazing! Broth is delish and flavorful. Every time we head to Ensenada we stop at Los Cabos to satisfy our hunger needs! You can even request free refills of broth...yum! Fish tacos are pretty good! Parking could be a little hard to find. Went there on a Monday and the public market was open so we had to park a little far. But it was worth it. The price is great. Some items on the menu are better than others. I would not recommend the fried fish and shrimp tacos (you can find good ones in San Diego). I really loved a tacos they called Gobernator (not sure what it was but it came with melted cheese, shrimp and some other seafood chopped small, it also tasted like saffron). I will order that again. The Ceviche tostada was great as well. read more

Best looking forward to our trip to Rosarito for months. The first night my uncle brought us here but it was closed, it was kinda late. We wound up doing to a restaurant and my bill came out to over $70 for my family of four. The next day we came here for lunch and it was open, never tried this place but my uncle insisted. You go to the counter and tell them what u want, with every taco u order u get a token that says the name of the taco. After ur done paying u just walk to the to the other counter and show the guys ur tokens and it's made on the fly. Plenty of room their so my whole family was ok sitting down with all the seating available. So now on to the food, it was the best I've ever had! The fish tacos are just flat out amazing and a must try if your in the area. I also tried the shrimp tacos and cannot stop talking about them...they're amazing! The first day their I ordered the Cabo taco, it had great flavors but this place is special because of the delicious fish and shrimp tacos. I will go back and you all need to go too. read more

Yelp lead to to this place. It's kinda off the beaten path off of a small street in the middle of Rosarito (use yelp maps for directions). We had the seafood soup. OMG, amazing. It is jam packed with seafood meat. Hardly any veggies (which I liked). I also had the campechana and my girl had the grilled fish tacos. All was delish and tasted fresh..... and to top it off, super cheap! Will def go back every time we are there. read more

The taco Cabo has Carne asada, shrimp and avocado and cheese. Then there is the killer taco the Cabo Monster!!!! Carne asada, squid, shrimp, cheese avocado, it is huge and delicious! Besides being in the news for drugs and human smuggling, Popotla is known for their fresh, daily caught seafood. Mariscos La Guerita is a restaurant here. Made from leftover lumber and the blue vinyl tarp, this ghetto- fabulous eatery was visited by Anthony Bourdain. To find this place, just look for a banner that says "Antoni Bourdan visits Rosarito Popotla". It's a bit intimidating if you do not speak Spanish. First, purchase your seafood from the countless vendors on the beach. (Fish range from 20-50 pesos per kilo) Once you purchase the fish, take it to the fish cleaning station. They will clean your fish for a tip. ($1 a fish) Take the cleaned fish to La Guerita and they will cook it up to your liking for about 30 pesos a fish. They will provide you with rice, beans, tortillas and an assortment of hot sauces. While you wait, make sure to check out the other stalls for their Cóctel de Mariscos or have a few beers. There must be crack sauce in the oil. Pescado Frito and the fish tacos are among the best I've had. (My wife has tried many times to duplicate the flavor but never can.) Spider crab and the sea urchin not so much. In the winter months, look for the brown box crab. It is better than the Alaskan variety. If you are in Rosarito, Mariscos La Guerita and Popotla is a great alternative to Puerto Nuevo. (Lobster Village) Just make sure you don't need to go to the banos. (bathroom) If you do, it's 5 pesos and a tetanus shot.
