Overall, our experience landed somewhere in the middle, there were definite highlights along with a few areas that could use some improvement. We started with the calamari, which unfortunately seemed a bit overcooked and had a slightly rubbery texture. The chips and salsa, however, were a strong start, the salsa tasted fresh and flavorful. The shrimp tacos were well prepared, juicy, and nicely seasoned. The rice also stood out with really good flavor. On the other hand, the crab in the siete mares soup didn't taste as fresh as expected and had a slightly off note to it. The aguas frescas were refreshing and enjoyable. One small surprise was that refills are not offered (unlike many similar spots), which we only realized when the bill arrived. Service was a highlight of the visit. Our waitress was warm, attentive, and consistently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. She offered helpful suggestions and created a welcoming experience from the moment we walked in. The classic cultural décor and overall ambiance gave the space a pleasant, comfortable vibe. While the food experience was mixed for us this visit, the excellent service and inviting atmosphere made the experience enjoyable overall, and we hope to see some refinements in the future.

All we got was, "I'm sorry. Come here". I followed him and he walked so fast that I did lose sight of him for a second as he rounded a corner. After about 2 minutes of looking at the menu, he comes up to ask if we are ready to order. Umm, no, I haven't even gotten to the back page of the menu yet.... He came up 2 more times all within 5 minutes to see if we were ready. Being our first time here, we still needed some time to decide, but it felt a little rushed. The food was fine. Nothing phenomenal, nothing bad. The portion was a little small for me. This place also does not give complementary chips & salsa when you are seated. I was looking for that salsa when my entree came. Funny how he hovered til we placed our order, but then disappeared when I was looking for straws and salsa. I had to flag a different lady down to get straws. I'm glad I checked this off my list, as I had been curious about it for a while. I wouldn't make this my destination again unless it was someone else's invite. PS. They don't even have a waiting area, so the people waiting for a table end up playing "doorman" (that included us opening for the departing patrons). By the time we finished eating and left, there were about 4 people blocking the door and had to shuffle around whenever someone needed to come through.

But the quality of the meat made up for it. The menudo was absolutely delicious as well. The restaurant is small, but it has a very warm, family-oriented atmosphere. Service was great definitely a team effort from the cashier/hostess to the waitress. Jazmine was my waitress and she was the sweetest. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back.
