I really love the food from here. The Culiacán style is my favorite mariscos. This place is cash only so make sure you plan accordingly or you can use the ATM inside. When searching for another Mariscos spot in the area, we found Maricos El Rafa. Mariscos El Rafa is located in a small strip mall near the 60 Freeway in Chino. The interior is clean but disjointed with half of the space having little lighting. You can tell the owner made an effort to make the interior as welcoming as possible. It should also be noted the business only accepts cash. Regarding the food, we had the crab salad, breaded shrimp, and tilapia. The latter two entrees came with rice and beans. The breaded shrimp was good, and the tilapia had little taste. On the topic of taste, the refried beans were very average, and the rice was hard and contained several clumps. This is the first time that we sat down and ate at this establishment. We have always picked up tubs of Mariscos to go for our family functions, the Mariscos were really delicious. Dinner tonight was good, Coctel Maleficio Aguachile, callo de hacha, this was made of Aguachile, shrimp, and scallops, and was delicious. There was a lot of seafood in it. The tacos de Camarón were also very good. The service was great. The young lady that waited on us was courteous, friendly and attentive. The structure is medium in size with plenty of tables and chairs and booths to sit down and enjoy your meal. The prices are fairly reasonable in line with other establishments of its kind. Was craving seafood, I saw this place closed at 8pm. I walked in at 7:14 and the girl said they were closed for dine in and are only handing out pick up orders. Seriously, you cant order to go? Then we were served with styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. We ordered an appetizer that was $30. It was super salty and wasn't worth the price for the small plate. I haven't done a review in a while as I usually don't have much time after having dinner and getting home late. This time I am going to just because I am a bit upset at the service. However, let me start saying the food was good and delicious. The ambience was ok although we sat next to some men that may have had a bit too many beers and were well a bit loud. I will say if you do visit take cash as they only take cash. They do have an ATM but you know they will charge you for taking money out. Another thing to be mindful and I should mention is to count your change as they were shorting me 10$z . The young lady simply gave me my change real quickly and said GRACIAS, I turned around and started walking out as I dropped the tip in the tip jar. I then proceeded to count my change and turned back and said hey you shorted me? She right away said what 5$! I said yes! And she handed me the 5$ and smirked. All I can say about this is it may have been an accident but be careful and count your change. I think it was not an accident. Just FYI. I will be going back but I guarantee I will be more careful on counting my change and hope I get better service. read more

I rarely leave reviews but due to the audacity of this place I just had to. Service overall was horrible. My order was spicy and when they remade it, the red headed waitress came back with my order and said they were going to charge it again. I refused and told them to just bring my other order back instead. She left and came back with the new order and said that my old order had been tossed and that I could have the new order but that I needed to make sure I said something because I had eaten half of it. I reiterated that the plate was actually pretty full!! When we got the bill there was an extra charge, well these shady ass people charged half of the order!! The one thing that is very disappointing is the service. The waitresses here seem to always be mad or frustrated, they don't smile and it seems like they want you to leave quickly. I went a few days ago and we were waiting for one of all the waitresses that where standing by the counter to come to our table since we wanted another drink. Well they never came , wouldn't even acknowledge us, they came and asked other tables around us if they needed anything and never came to ours, I was trying to call them to come and they would pass us by really quickly and look the other way. I had to finally go to the counter and ask the girl to bring me 2 drinks to my table. She was looking at me really ugly, I guess since I had walked up their to the counter. If they would have came and did their job I wouldn't have been up their asking for a drink. Well we drank our drink and again same story, no one ever came to ask if we needed anything, passed our table like 7 times and never stopped at ours. So we had to go get our check in the front and pay up their. It's sad , because the food and drinks are delicious but the service is so bad. It's a small restaurant they should be going to every table at least every 10 minutes to see if people need anything. But like I said it seems like they want us to eat and leave ASAP. Why ? (Who know.) Sometimes I want to ask them if they have a problem with us or what's the situation. Because stopping at every table and not ours was just rude and makes us wonder why. Oh before I forget, the whole time their when we were sitting down no one came over. Like the table was invisible even. But as soon as we got up to go pay up front one of the waitresses went to the table right away. It's like oh , now you see the table. We left a tip, because we are not rude.
