    Coctél campechana
    Alan G.

Solid, delicious and refreshing coctel campechana. For the size, it's priced reasonably. They put more shrimp, abalone, scallop than I thought they would. Took mine to go so they gave me tostadas, saltines, I think it was Brujeria salsa, Tapatio, and limes. Fix it up as you please. Overall, very solid! I'll be back if I'm ever in the area. Plenty of parking.

When we arrived, there was live music playing, the restaurant was packed with customers, and the atmosphere felt lively and welcoming. We waited about 15 minutes before being seated, which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. To start, we ordered drinks. Since a few of us planned on having beers, we asked our waitress if ordering a bucket of beer would be cheaper than ordering them individually, and she said yes. However, after doing the math later, we realized it actually came out to the same price as ordering single beers. Not a huge deal, but something worth noting. My wife ordered a piña colada, which was absolutely delicious and definitely had a nice kick to it. I also tried the mango margarita, which was refreshing, flavorful, and perfect for the warm weather. For my meal, I ordered the Surf and Turf Burrito Mojado, and it was fantastic from start to finish. The flavors were spot on, and it's definitely something I would order again on a future visit. My wife ordered the Tacos Gobernador, which were both tasty and filling. I also got to try some of the ceviche that my family members ordered, and it was incredibly fresh and delicious as well. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back whenever we're in the area. The live mariachi music made the experience even more enjoyable, the food was excellent, and the service was friendly throughout our visit. Highly recommended!

Yesterday I had one of their seafood salads, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and you could tell it was made with care. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you're looking for authentic, fresh, and delicious seafood, this is definitely a place worth visiting. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from their menu!

This is one of those places that really needs your Yelp help. It is located in an eclectic…read moreneighborhood, a very rural area called Mira Loma, but on a well-known, main thoroughfare. Google Maps turns you into a dusty asphalt driveway where, in the front is one stucco building that might have been someone's house at one time, and in the back is one very worn, almost sleazy, one-story building where three tiny Mom & Pop businesses compete for space. There is nothing fancy to see here, with the exception of the tiny, covered patio at the entry and a claustrophobic ordering counter on the other side of a sliding glass door. The patio walls are lined with bamboo, a couple taxidermied blue marlin, and some seaside-themed, tropical decor. There are maybe 4 tables and a cluster of chairs. I imagine, in the heat of the summer, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in here. And yet, reading the food reviews will make your heart go pitter-patter. Their specialty is mariscos with a Baja spin. Ceviche, shrimp cocktails, fish soup, fish tacos and burritos, to name a few. They also have swordfish and salmon on their menu. We came for the fish tacos and were we in store for a surprise! The chunk of fried fish in each taco was as big as a huge chicken tender. Our tacos were filled with moist, great tasting white fish (not tilapia)! The tortillas, hence, had to be the larger size, not street taco sized. The batter was crispy and exceptional, with a light, herbal flavor. The finishing touch was a pile of toppings, including shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, finely chopped cucumber, and an insanely delicious white crema-mayo sauce. I think the unexpected cucumber added a unique, refreshing element to an already excellent taco. The only downfall was that the corn tortilla fell apart before I could get it into my mouth. Heh, I can live with that...just give me a fork. If you thought the price of 1 taco ($4.50) was too expensive, you are wrong. One taco here is the equivalent of two tacos elsewhere. That's a great deal! This is not fast food. The fish is cooked to order. Plan on a wait. Although this is essentially a covered, outdoor dining enclosure with a dutch door style gate, please note. Pets are not allowed. There is no pet-friendly section, nor shady areas to park in their bleak parking lot. The irony of this was the number of off-leash dogs we saw wandering around the parking lot. We saw three small to medium sized dogs, and no owner. We ended up bringing our food and personna-non-grata pup home. They did a nice job with the fish tacos, and one of their customers assured me the fried and/or grilled shrimp tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp were excellent. This means only one thing...we shall return, but without the chihuahua fur baby.

The Wait: It took forever just to place our order. Once we finally did, my boyfriend's drink took 10 minutes to arrive. and mine took another 10 minutes after that. The Food: We ordered guacamole as an appetizer, which was brought to the table without chips. By the time the server finally prought the chips out, the "appetizer" was pointless. The Attitude: When our breakfast finally arrived, I politely asked for a side of salsa. As she walked away, the waitress(Janet) literally rolled her eyes and threw her head back in frustration. At that point, I told her to forget it. She then kept insisting, "What did you want?" but the vibe was so hostile I didn't even want to engage. Consistency: It wasn't just us; she did the exact same thing to the table next to us when they tried to get her attention. Between the glacial pace and the nasty attitude, this waitress (Janet) is clearly in the wrong industry. Save your money and go somewhere where they actually want your business.

I do think the consomé could use a little more flavor, maybe some lemon or something to give it a little more taste. One thing I did notice during my last visit that really bothered me was the hygiene. I was sitting at the bar when a group of men came in and ordered beers. One of the beers was a little overfilled, so the employee poured some of it into the sink. What bothered me was that instead of using a clean towel or napkin to wipe the outside/rim of the glass, she wiped it with her bare hand and then served it. Considering the employees behind the counter are handling cash, plates, food, and other items, I personally found that very unhygienic. People are drinking directly from those glasses, so seeing someone wipe a customer's glass with their bare hand was honestly pretty gross and made me uncomfortable. I think they could definitely be more careful about sanitation, especially when handling anything customers are going to eat or drink from.

Also, loved that they have handmade corn tortillas. Now, keep in mind for the negatives. I know everybody's taste buds are a little bit different than mine but this is just my opinions. For me the carne asada tacos were very bland as far as the meat but the tortillas were great. I was not a fan of the red or green salsas. The beans lacked a little flavor and missing something. The rice was just okay. As far as the prices, well I felt they were a bit higher for the portions. However, I would definitely like toy return to try something new ie, menudo or mariscos.
