I usually don't make positive yelp reviews, but this place is so great I had to share! My dentist is Dr. Huerta, and he is a great guy. He always takes your comfort into consideration and is very helpful in answering any questions. He is personable and very friendly. The staff themselves are also incredibly nice. I have been going here for a few months but I plan to continue going here for the as long as I live in NYC. These guys completely deserve the 5 stars, and complimentary beverages and alcohol isnt a bad touch either. read more

Dr. Joseph Marini is in the wrong industry. He deals with people all day and is responsible for the aesthetic of someone's face and he seems to miss that concept. In my time there, I had to undergo an implant procedure and 4 crown replacements. Throughout this almost year long process, he was verbally abusive, I left his office in tears many times, he was rough, he was patronizing and flat out mean. He is rude to patients, he is rude to his staff and he rushes you in and out. For what I was paying and the cosmetic work that needed to be done and the complexity of the procedure I would not expect this from any professional. In the end, he placed my implant incorrectly, my gum line completely recessed and I am now having to undergo reconstructive work. While he did help me out in some way to let me go get it fixed elsewhere, he refused to acknowledge the remainder of the work gone wrong and professionally refused return money for services paid for. This guy told me to "move on with my life and it was just my smile". For someone who works in cosmetic dentistry, he is in the wrong field. He was overall unprofessional and I hope nobody ever has to go through what I did. There are so many dentist in NYC, therefore nobody should have to settle for this. It is truly unfortunate he thinks it is OK to treat people and his staff the way he does. All in all, he will never realize how much his actions and words impacted me. Love this place! I book appointments according to my schedule and see whichever doctor is available. They are all wonderful! The doctors take late appointments which is helpful if you have a crazy work schedule like me. I usually book a 7:15 time slot! They are always quick and efficient AND there is wine in the waiting room. I have been to other dentists in the city and have been turned off by the unkempt offices and unorganized staff members. When I lived in NJ, I saw Dr. Marini for several years, in the Union City office, and was always satisfied. He's like your Italian uncle, warm and personable. When I moved to Brooklyn a year and a half ago, I got my records transferred to the Spring Street office, and have been seeing Dr. Buchholz ever since. I was really dreading today's visit, because I have sensitive teeth and gum recession I caused from years of brushing too hard. Even a cleaning would hurt. Dr. Buchholz is really terrific. I feel so comfortable with her, because she's a real person who takes my feelings into account. That's a quality so hard to find in a medical professional. She listened to me and went out of her way to make me more comfortable. I never realized that applying a topical anesthesia before the cleaning was an option. Can't rave about her enough. read more

Dr. Marino is a wonderful dentist. I visited his office last week to correct a chipped tooth. What a great job he did.The tooth was an obvious one in the front, so he wanted to do a composite. The tooth looks beautiful now, and you would never know it had been chipped. He also cleaned up my teeth to remove coffee stains, and suggested a sonic toothbrush so that I could do better upkeep of my teeth. Dr. Marini is a caring dentist, does excellent work, and is artistic in his approach to dentistry. I went to Drs. Marini, Manci, and Huerta for about ten years, and I was very satisfied with all of the cleanings and fillings that I received. It's a nice office and they and their staff are really friendly. They serve pop, wine, and coffee in the waiting area, which I thought was a little odd for a dentist, but also a nice touch -- especially as it's easy to be kept waiting 20-30 minutes, as another reviewer said. HOWEVER: If you need endodontic work -- root canals or crowns -- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They did two root canals and three crowns for me through the years, and every one of those crowns popped off at some point and had to be reinstalled or remade entirely. To their credit, they did this replacement work for free, but every dentist I've spoken to since said that crowns should never come off. (I think they try to go fast to get through their patient load, and they perhaps get a little sloppy.) Additionally, after they reinstalled one of the crowns over a tooth that had received a root canal, I discovered that the root canal was improperly done, and it's now infected . . . So I have to get a second root canal and a third crown on that tooth, which THRILLS me, I tell you. I'm going to another dentist and endodontist for that work. In short: Nice people, but don't trust them with anything complicated that takes a lot of time. read more

THE BEST DENTIST DOWNTOWN i've intended to write many yelp reviews in the past (good and bad) but this is the first time i've felt compelled to actually sit down and do it. i have only been going to Dr. Manci for a few years but in my 50+ years, i've had many dentists. Dr. Manci is absolutely the best dentist i've ever had. My experience with most dentists rivals my experience with most mechanics. the diagnosis is always much worse than i think it will be and cost several times more than i hoped. Dr. Manci is the complete opposite. I've gone in twice in the last 2 weeks with cracked teeth (both circumstantial - one signicant). Merlin got me an emergency same day appt both times Again, I was prepared for the worse: ("extraction, root canal, implant, crown, $4K, boom.) However, both times i was told with confidence, "we can build this up and save it". Both visits included x-ray, numbing, antiobotic treatment, porcelain filling and clean up and each bill was under $300. Amazing! I've lived in 4 cities and been to dozens of dentists in my adult life and i am convinced that Dr. Manci is the only one that would have not up-sold me on an unnecessary implant. I have been going to this office on and off for about 7 years. While in the past I have found the dentists to be very good at teeth cleanings with excellent demeanor, I have decided to stop going to this office due to customer service issues I have experienced more recently. 1) I routinely have to wait 30-90 minutes for my scheduled visit. 2) At one visit, the scheduled dentist never came and I literally had to beg to see another dentist. 3) Reception is routinely rude or at least unhelpful when I have questions for them. They frequently make administrative errors as well. 4) I have been to them twice for services other than routine cleanings. Both were very negative experiences. In one instance, they made me a retainer and proceeded to charge me double the quoted price and now my teeth have moved in an undesirable way as a result of the retainer the dentist made for me. Not to mention it took them twice as long to produce the retainer than they originally projected. On the positive side, they have Saturday hours. So, if you have all the time and patience in the world, you should go here. read more

WORST DENTAL OFFICE EVER. I went in to get a cleaning and have a retainer made since mine broke. Not only did the dentist screw up the impressions twice (and it's horrible clay that they have to put in your mouth) but then I paid $250 only to be called two weeks later to be told that they had to re-do it because it still wasn't right. I asked for my money to be refunded. They said ok. They said they can't refund credit cards and that I'd have to be issued a check. They mailed it to the wrong address. Three weeks passed and I called to find out where it was when we realized this. Then they made it out to the wrong last name. Then I was told Dr. Marini only keeps his "checks" at home and was leaving from the office to go on vacation for 2 weeks so wouldn't be able to take care of it until he returned. The receptionist said "hopefully" he'll be able to send you a check then. Nice. read more

This review is only regarding their scheduling services as I cannot remark on the dental care they provide. I originally scheduled my teeth cleaning with them in November 2013 for a date in December. They called me the day of to inform me the dentist would not be in that day so they had to cancel. Ok it happens, so I rebooked for the next available date which was not until January 2014. Again they called me the day of to cancel. Since I was not particularly in a hurry, I foolishly rescheduled with them again for today, 2/5/2014, only to receive a call this morning that the dentist was sick so they had to cancel my appointment. Frustrated I ask them if it would be possible to book me an appointment next week due to my circumstances. They put me on hold and never came back on the line. End of story, finding new dentist. read more
