I've finally found a decent dental practice in Hoboken. After bad experiences at two different dental provider groups in town, I decided to bite the bullet and go to an out of network provider this year. My fiancé and coworker recommended Dr. Farag's practice to me and I'm so glad they did. The practice is clean, the front desk staff are kind and accommodating, and the hygienist and dentist were thorough in the cleaning and exam. They were very transparent with me about what my out of pocket costs would be based on my insurance's out of network benefits. I had to reschedule a couple times and they kept me on a cancellation list so I ended up getting in sooner than originally expected. I'm very happy I made the switch to this practice. read more

Unprofessional billing practices. Dr. Farag and the dental hygienist' were WONDERFUL, but unfortunately accountability by the team when it comes to billing practices is lacking. The reception team confirms prior to the appointment that they 'verify' your insurance to make sure things are covered, but in reality, they only look at their internal records (i.e., your prior visits with them) rather than verifying details with the insurance directly. Hence, this doesn't account for any other visits you may have had with other dentist offices when Farag's practice is unable to accommodate due to lack of appointments on their end (even if you verbally tell them you went to another dentist!) It could have been a one-off instance, but the lack of professionalism in handling the situation and taking ownership for the mistake, when verbally telling the patient 'everything will be covered for this visit', is unfortunate. Then slapping a 'final notice' stamp and threatening to send to collections when it's the FIRST instance of an adjusted bill that was actually sent to the patient? I've honestly never dealt with a healthcare office that operates in such an unprofesssional manner like this. When you're running a business, your staff are a reflection of you as well. The experience completely soured the entire practice for me. Moral of the story: ask them to verify DIRECTLY with the insurance and have things IN WRITING from them. I have nothing but positive things to say about the team at Farag Dentistry. They are professional, do a great job, and don't take forever. Going to the dentist is never fun, but they do a great job ensuring you are comfortable and that you are pleased with the results when you leave. I have seen some other reviews stating they are shady, and I couldn't disagree more. Today I tried to book a teeth whitening treatment. The hygenist talked me out of it because they said it was a waste of money. If they were truly trying to make as much money as possible from their patients, they would have taken an easy sale. Started going maybe about 15 years ago, and the dentists are wonderful and so are the assistants. They are thorough & work efficiently. I have no complaints. Rather than repeat a failed root canal procedure within a few years, as recommended by the Farag office, I researched and identified another technique that attacked the problem from above rather than up through the previous root path. It went brilliantly. When I discussed this at the Farag office, they dismissed the procedure. Even more significant they did not discuss the option with me before their particular suggestion. I believe that they should have provided me with more information and choice and not keep process as a secret professional discretion. I am pleased I searched for alternatives. Never had a more pain-free and pleasant experience going to the dentist than I have since I started going to Dr. Farag's office years ago. Everything in the office, from the furniture to the floors to the dental tools is immaculate. It's obvious that Dr. Farag takes great pride in her work, staff and office space. Everyones really friendly. I particularly love the ambient lighting in the exam room so I don't feel like I'm going in for surgery. One of the worst doctors I've been to. Still suffering from her shoddy work. Dr. Farag smiles to your face and you think she's great but her dental work is pretty subpar and I have been suffering for it. She also fraudulently over bills the insurance companies and even though the insurance will pay her the contracted price, she will still send bills to your home to cover the remaining balance of how much she requested (which is not allowed) If you try to call her office to discuss the issue you will get her very rude staff who is not helpful, will threaten you to pay and hang up on you. And next thing you know your account is in collections and your credit report is messed up over something that wasn't allowed to be billed to you in the first place. Also when I told them I would report them for insurance fraud they accused me of stealing from my insurance company. Makes no sense. Stay away! Plenty of excellent dentists in our Hoboken neighborhood! read more

Hands down the best dentist around!!! I have hated going to the dentist since being a young child, but thanks to Dr Farag and her staff, now i just don't like it. The office is immaculate and modern unlike many dentist offices that just seem dingy and dated. The staff are all professional, personable, and well-trained. Everyone seems to be happy to work at the office, unlike some doctors you visit where the staff acts like you are lucky they are seeing you. As for Dr. Farag, she is incredibly talented. I have been to her office about 10 times over the last 2 years and have left incredibly happy with her work, every time. She takes extra special care to ensure you are not feeling any pain, even if the job takes longer, and requires additional novocaine. Additionally, this is the only dentist that I have visited in the last 10 years who has not attempted to sell me on additional needed services. Lastly, she is an extremely warm, funny, and friendly person who remembers her patients. My wife and I moved away last year and we still drive 40 minutes back for our appointments because neither of us is willing to even try someone else. read more
