We went to Macy's and Nordstrom's to see if I could buy anything off the shelf.......nothing. I found Ole mason Jar Clothier online and walked the few blocks to their wonderful store. We were greeting by Brad and Filipe and explained my dilemma. Now think about this for a moment........I asked them at 11:00 am if there was any chance that I could buy a suit and just have the pants altered or pinned up for a wedding that was happening that day at 5:00 pm. The answer was "Yes, we can make that happen." I was shocked. Filipe asked what size I was and I answered a 46 regular........Brad looked at me and said put him in a 44 reg. It fit better than any suit I have ever owned. All of their clothes are their own brand and designed by them. Their material, stitching, and cut, were beautiful. I was measured and handed the suit back to Filipe. He bolted to the seamstress. My wife and I had lunch and the suit was ready in less that 2.5 hours. As one of my first experiences purchasing products from a business reopening during Covid I must tell you that it was such a grand experience. These guys represent EVERYTHING GREAT about business ownership. They cared about my situation, produce a fantastic product, and delivered with a huge smile. I am an OMJ lifer. Thanks Guys

After hesitation (because my hubster hates spending money) he agreed and we couldn't figure out where to go. We asked around and we were pointed in the direction of Abbeydale by two different people. And they were absolutely right. Their location is connected to the parking deck off of 4th street. It's by appointment only so make sure you set that up prior which we did. (Sidenote: they are moving locations so not sure how much longer they'll be on 4th street) We were blown away ..(again let me be I honest..I was blown away) at the options that David had. He took the time to ask what we were looking for, our story behind the vow renewal, where we were going and even asked what I envisioned for Hubs! He made the entire process easy and gave recommendations when we got stumped on style. We picked out everything from color and fabric to even the design that goes on the inside of the vest? Whaaaa?? So classy. I can't WAIT to see the finished product. My hubs is gonna kill it in his new digs. Such great customer service!!!

It's a custom clothing company with a focus on customer service and quality, but with all things in life you get what you pay for. I can't sit here and say that I've had everyone measure me up, but I thought Joe, the tailor that fitted me for my suit, did a stand up job. I was measured places I had never once considered; it wasn't your typical arms, shoulders, wrist, legs BS. He came to my house and fitted me right in my living room while having a beer, which I provided of course.... It was a special occasion!! I was getting married and I didn't want to cut any corners in the GQ department. My suit was ready for an initial fitting after a few weeks and I stopped by their office to see how it fit. The building was clean and modern, just what I would expect. Walked in, accepted a well appreciated water and coffee and got down to business. I had to have some small adjustments to "take it in" a bit and the pants hemmed a tad, but it fit great otherwise. The adjustments were made and I picked it up at the office shortly there after. I even ended up grabbing a pair of sick cuff links when I was in the back room chatting with him, while he was ironing everything out of course (got a nice shirt as well). Impulse buys get the best of us sometimes and I've accepted that. This definitely wasn't the cheapest option, but I've never experienced a better customer experience, fitting, or quality suit in my life. ***** stars.

I have been looking at getting custom clothing for a while due to my build (6'3 and 180lbs) nothing ever fits off the rack. To say the least I was skeptical to give them my business after reading reviews online, but I am glad that I went against my initial instinct. Working with the people at Tom James has been one of the best decisions I have made -- it has revolutionized the way that I buy clothing. When shopping now it is as simple as giving them a call to set up an appointment at the office and have a clothier come to visit me with ideas and suggestions to add to my wardrobe. The initial waiting period was a little lengthier than I anticipated, which was right at 8 weeks. It took them about 6 weeks to custom make the suit and two shirts that I ordered and then upon the initial fitting additional adjustments had to be made taking another two weeks for a tailor to make the adjustments. My patience paid off though, I have never had clothing that has fit so perfectly (and the wife loves it too!). I was so pleased with the results that I ordered another two suits and four shirts a few months later. I have been doing business with Tom James for about a year now and will continue as long as they continue to follow through with the amazing service and products that they have delivered so far.

I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon when they opened at 12n and was greeted by Leon, a very friendly and professional young man from Va Beach who now claims CLT as his new home. I was looking for a specific style of T-Shirt and/or gold shirt. He explained they get new styles and merchandise every Friday at 11am. He recommend registering on their web site to get advance notice of new products.
