I recently dined at 9 Barrios Restaurant located at 1174 Cll Principal, Cabo Rojo, 00623, Puerto Rico, and I feel compelled to share my experience.
I tried their wood-fired pizza with pomodoro sauce, which came highly recommended. Unfortunately, it was overrated and tasted quite bland. In all honesty, I've tasted better frozen pizza at home. Once the pizza gets cold, it turns into something resembling a cracker topped with ketchup and cheese. It's rather disappointing, especially considering the expectations that come with brick oven-baked pizza. This one, however, is the exception.
It's interesting how the assumption that anything brick oven-baked must be good doesn't hold true here. The pizza leaves a lot to be desired, and it's surprising to me that some might consider this good pizza.
On a positive note, the staff were nice and professional, which was the only redeeming aspect of my visit.
Overall, the pizza experience at 9 Barrios was not up to par, and I would not recommend it based on my visit. read more
