Stopped by Terramar for quick lunch after walking around the area. Our waitress was very friendly and super helpful. She gave us a lot of suggestions on where to go while on our trip. We ordered a pizza and some sides to share. The cheese balls and cod fritters weren't that good and was lacking in flavor. The sauce helped. I enjoyed the sweet plantains. Pizza was ok, not very saucy but very cheesy. My husband wanted a drink that wasn't on the menu but the staff was able to whip it up for him. I know this is a pizzeria but they do sell other foods. I've been here twice on two different trips and as crazy as it sounds we ordered the shrimp mofongo and despite the bad reviews the shrimp mofongo was to die for and tasted excellent. My friends and I came here b/c we needed to be near the area for snorkeling the next day, and came across this restaurant b/c we were also craving some American food. We walked in and the restaurant was spacious, which I really appreciated as it was pretty refreshing. Our waitress was really friendly and got our order right away, but everything took awhile to come out. We were quite disappointed with all the food b/c it was all so very salty... None of us were able to finish our dishes and did not even take them home b/c we didn't think we would finish them. My experience here was at best .. mediocre. We came in about 7:40 pm latest and found a nice seat for my dad and i. We waited about 15 to 20 minutes for someone to come by and get our order. We ordered a medalla, sprite, pepperoni calzone & personal pizza of cheese. No lie .. We waited 45 min for our food. I had to get up and tell our waiter " hey by any chance how long is the food coming out bc we are hungry" obviously, i asked nicely. He did tell us that there is only one chef tonite so that is why the wait time was a little longer. I wish he checked up on us the whole night or even tell us that situation bc then we would've been more understanding. The location is great and the air conditioning is a great touch. Rolled into town for a long weekend and arrived a little on the late side. Found this listed in the "Local's Favorites" and thought "why not!?" SO happy we did. Yes, we could say we just ordered a pizza but that would be a grave understatement. It was EXCELLENT. Living near Boston and having access to our Little Italy, I'm not easily impressed. really good pizza, like weirdly good crust and sauces, this isn't some Ellios bullshit for drunks. Quick walk from where we were staying at Aquarius, super cold medalla, a good chicken mofongo which seemed made to order and not sitting there all day to turn into a rock. Friendly service, a little quieter than some of the joints around there, not a party spot like most of the places around, if you are looking to just chill a bit. And on that line, the air conditioning and ventilation was outstanding, also open on Mondays and Tuesdays unlike a lot of places. Not super expensive and you won't be dissapointed. One person in our group had hair and plastic in their burger half way through (she didnt want to tell the waitress) and the service and the bathrooms are horrible. The toilet doesn't flush, there was used toilet paper. Our waitress ate while we sat to wait for basic items like soda and water, after our food arrived... An amazing find in this town. The food is so delicious that I would come here again for certain! We had a skirt steak that was stuffed with sausage and plantains and wrapped in bacon with a delicate white sauce. It was absolutely delicious. We had the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and they were the best I've ever had in my life light, creamy, spicy perfect mouthful with each bite it came with a guava dipping sauce that's made directly from guava and water reduced to a suave nothing added. The place I am only giving one star because of the proximity of the hotel I was staying. We went there on July 15 for dinner since the Poblado restaurants around were closed down. Our order took around 90 minutes to prepare and we were waiting inside for take-out. The employees care more of the dine in customers than us. We had 3 children under the age of 10 hungry and they were not moved by that. Our ticket was over a hundred dollars. Food horrible. We order pasta for the kids and was not fresh. The skirt steak old and overcooked reheated with charred french fries. The BBQ wings were plain with only a little side of sauce to dip in. The only good thing was the breadsticks with cheese. I had the garlic steak mofongo and it was terrific. The garlic combined with the steak made a perfect combination. The service was good and the server knew the menu well. The only reason i don't give this restaurant a higher grade was the patio where I sat. Garbage was right across from the patio and it had garbage falling out of it with stray cats eating the garbage. We arrived in Boqueron on St. Patrick's day 2013 (a Sunday), and the whole town was packed! Streets were full, every business was open and very busy. The next day, it was like a ghost town. There was only one restaurant in the whole town that was open for dinner! Happily, it happened to be right across the street from the Wildflowers guest house that we were staying at, so we headed over. As you head toward the water on 101, take a left at the WIldflowers Guest House, and Terramar will be on your right. Terramar was totally empty when we arrived. One extremely nice woman was working and showed us to our table. She offered to close up the windows and doors and turn on the A/C. It was a beautiful night, so we declined. This place was one of the few that had actual windows, rather than hurricane shutters, which made it feel very inviting. Cool art on the walls helped as well. A really comfortable setting. We ordered a local beer - Medalla (only $1.25!!), and a Bacardi Rock Coconut rum and coke ($4) as we perused the large menu. We asked about the conch, and she apologized saying that they just opened 3 days earlier and are not yet fully stocked. No conch, nor lobster. No problem, there was plenty of other options to choose from. The hubby ordered the Churrasco Relleno - a steak rolled up and stuffed with cheese, plantains and Spanish chorizo, and then wrapped with bacon. Ridiculous, and he loved every bite of it. Steak was done perfectly. For his side he chose arroz provenzal, which was rice mixed with chimchurri to make a delicious green concoction of yum. I went with the traditional Puerto Rican dish Chillo Entero. A whole red snapper. Much to my delight, the server let me know (without me asking), that I could get it grilled instead of fried (which is the traditional method of prep). I opted for grilled, with a side of tostones (fried, then smashed plantains). I also ordered a side salad. The fish was absolutely amazing. You can order the fillet only if you can't handle staring your fish in the face while you are eating it, but I wanted to experience the real thing, teeth and all! From what I could tell, it was simply seasoned with salt, grilled, then served with cilantro and lime wedges. It was so fresh, and sooooo good! Oh yeah, it's eye socket was garnished with a green olive, which the hubby happily ate. Prior to our meals being served, we were presented with very yummy garlic knots, which we quickly devoured. This was followed by bowls of pumpkin soup, which we had not been expecting. No indication of it in the menu. It was one of the tastiest soups we had ever had! I was kind of scared when she said it was pumpkin, expecting a really sweet soup. I could not have been more wrong. It was not sweet at all, but perfectly savory, and seasoned with I have no idea what. I could have eaten a gallon of it. The only negative I can say about the meal was the lame salad. Iceberg lettuce plus sad looking tomatoes. This seems to be the typical salad throughout Puerto Rico cuz I that I encountered similar salads several times during my trip - iceberg lettuce everywhere, so I couldn't really blame them (but this is the only reason we decreased the rating to 4 stars). One other table was sat as we ate. I sure hope Terramar can survive the slow weekdays, because they are off to a stellar start! Everything was delicious, and our total bill was only $55, which included the soup, salad, a beer and four rum & cokes! Hey, they were pretty small, and we were on vacation, don't judge. :) If you find yourself in Boqueron, DEFINITELY give Terramar a try. Delicioso!!!! read more

Over cooked and takes very long to come out. The adult portions are very under courteous.The service is delayed. We waited over a hour for sincerely terrible food. Like that's not even a exaggeration. We were skeptical about this place so we ordered food we can share in a group of 6 and I STILL felt cheated. I know people have bad experiences and write the worst about restaurants but seriously this place is robbery. We were courteous and respectful to the servers and place eating calmly quietly and neatly. This was probably my worst Puerto Rico experience. Definitely a tourist trap. Don't waste your time. We went on New Year's Day and this place was really packed so service wasn't as good as it usually is but the pizza was great. We ordered a deep-fried meat pizza which is their specialty with garlic sauce and a pepperoni pizza. The crust, cheese and meats were all great. I ordered a side of red sauce and it tasted very authentic and had plenty of olive oil flavor in it. We also ordered the rolled up steak that is covered in cheese and has other stuff inside of it and that was one of the best steaks even though it was just a flank steak that I've had in quite some time. That is a must try. Sodas were only one dollar and the family enjoyed. Overall this is a very Nice area and I recommend anybody that's close come to this area. They call it the key west of Puerto Rico and it is really worth the drive. We drove from Rincon about 40 minutes. The strip is very lively with locals and tourists. read more

The service is non existent and the food isn't worth it. After taking our the waitress didn't bring our drinks. We had to ask her half an hour later. She never asked us if we wanted our drinks after taking the order. When she brought the appetizer she didn't bring any napkins and plates, once again we had to tell her. The food took forever and to top it off they got my brother's order wrong with something he can't eat. Needless to say he ate somewhere else. Prices are reasonable when plate sizes are taken into consideration. Taste is great ( 5 stars ) .. All the noise about Jalapeño poppers is true; they are great! Mofongo is amazing, I do recommend to get it as a side because the flavors get too overwhelming when ordered filled with some kind of protein. Came here after a trip to Boqueron Beach. Drink selection was vast and they weren't stingy with the Liquor. Beer selection was great. Many different craft brews in bottles. Great selection. Pizza was the best I've had in PR so far. I wouldn't say Pizza is a specialty here on the island but this place made a pretty good pie. My usually picky son worked through a personal pan pizza himself. I had the Tierra Y Mar. steak was very good and the lobster was marinated with garlic butter sauce. Very good entrees as well. I would probably eat here 3 days in a row without question. Service here is solid and atmosphere is legit as well. read more
