This was the only restaurant we encountered discourteous service on the island while inquiring about our child's severe allergy. Unfortunately the hidden high, online only menu (difficult to translate for a large group or kids), topped with an argumentative staff, makes this one a skip for us. Erica was our server, did a very good job advising us of wait times. She suggested fried cheese balls would be a good appetizer segway to our main dishes. They were! The food was out of this world. The pulpo appetizer with the tostones was delicious. My buddy got the mahi-mahi in a garlic sauce with their house rice. I had the kan kan boy was it cooked perfectly! We also had the 10 ounce lobster tail with a guava sauce. She kept saying we needed to try their house specialty rice and man she was not wrong. We could've just ate rice by the pound. You shouldn't run out of coconut in PR but whatever. They gave me a strawberry mojito which I didn't order. You'd think they would comp the drink but not so. I sent it back. Just don't order drinks. We came to Bamboleio with a few friends and were seated on the patio outside, which offered a great view of the ocean. I ordered the rabo de langosta with garlic sauce. The lobster was well-cooked; pieces were tender without being rubbery at all. I also tried my friend's salmon fresco. The dill and garlic sauce was delicious. The food takes a little bit of time to get to your table, but well worth the freshly cooked food. Our group of 6 loved everything about this restaurant. First, the restaurant has about 8 parking spaces directly outside and the has overflow parking across the street with plenty of space. The restaurant is directly on the water with a beautiful western facing view (aka amazing sunsets). There is limited patio seating but you can have wonderful views from inside as well. Our group started with the bolitas de queso (fried cheese balls) with ginger guava sauce, the coconut shrimp, and pico de gallo con mango. For the bolitas de queso, imagine a fried macaroni ball without the macaroni and that is what this is, so it's delicious but heavy. Coconut shrimp was well breaded but keep in mind they leave tails on. And the pico is extremely fresh. Now, the entrees. I had the vegetarian mofongo (best I've had on the island) and my group had the mofongo camarones, the churrasco, and the dorado. Both the vegetarian mofongo and camarones mofongo were well sauced and had plenty of toppings. The churrasco was perfectly cooked and the dorado was perfectly light. In all, the food here is excellent. We had plenty of drinks as well but I highly recommend the mojitos or the ginger lavender cocktails. read more

They delivered a beautifully prepared, wonderfully tasty plate of fish tacos, and amazing nachos with red pico and mango salsa. It is obvious that care and pride are a part of the Bomboleio's team product. The space delivers a laid back, relaxing, welcoming environment. Great for watching absolutely stunning sunsets. I came to visit my parents in Cabo Rojo this month when I was introduced to this amazing restaurant!The food was DELICIOUS, the service was absolutely wonderful, and the view was stunning! Myself and my family were promptly greeted with big smiles at the door and the whole staff was very friendly and cheerful. I have been to many restaurants in Puerto Rico and I can honestly say I have never experienced such amazing customer service as I have here. We had such a lovely experience that we ended up returning a few days later and we were lucky enough to be served by the same waitress who attended us on our first visit.
