When visiting my family during the holidays, I told my mom I wanted to have lobster. She recommended Tino's and said that even though they were not great in the past, they had recently changed administration and might be better now. We were a group of ten (10) and we were seated promptly but they did not provide a high chair for my 1 year old nephew. I had to go and get one myself and carry it myself. They took a while to take our order and when they did, the server didn't write any of it down. We were not sure whether to be impressed or worried. Long story short, worried was the way to go. They forgot my stepdad's dish. Every other table got served before us even though we had ordered first. They would bring dishes and ask if we had ordered that or if they had already brought that dish to us. There was no rhyme or reason on the way the plates were coming out. It was extremely frustrating and the food was mediocre. Only thing I enjoyed was their beans mostly because they had pumpkin in them. There are so many options in Joyuda that i would avoid Tino's at all costs. El Bohio is always consistent and service is exceptional. Don't waste your time.

Stopped in late last night at about closing time but they let us in. They did advise us that they were out of several food items but since just about every other place was closed we decided to take our chance. I must admit I was disappointed because they things they were out of were the things I would have ordered but oh well. The owner was very gracious and took care of us quickly. Drinks came out quickly which was a plus. For my entree I had the churrasco with fries. My girlfriend had the octopus salad and our guests had a fish dish and the other had the fried shrimp. Although I was initially disappointed once the meal came I was very impressed with the flavors and the taste. So delicious. The food was so good. The restaurant was very nice the decor was simple but appropriate. The only reason I gave them a 4 star review was because they were out of several food items which in my opinion should never happen. A Puerto Rican restaurant should never run out of rice and beans and plátanos. Just can't happen.

Fried snapper, Mofongo and Surullitos. Yummy!!

Tino's is always a safe bet in Joyuda. My mom and I ordered the fried snapper with tostones, and it was delicious! The garlic bread was very nice, and the server did a good job in helping me select a wine for my meal. My dad had the lobster mofongo, which he said was very good. He also gave us very accurate information on what fish was fresh and local. The manager came by our table a few times to make sure we were doing well. They deserve a 5 star rating for both their service and the quality of their food.

Overall the meal was just okay and slightly disappointing, perhaps we ordered the wrong things? . We started with the grilled octopus which was neither good nor bad. We also tried a mofongo which was a little bland for our tastes. For the main courses we ordered the fried red snapper and the lobster. The red snapper was fresh, but the batter and method of frying was unremarkable. Both dishes came with a side of defrosted steamed veggies. We also got a side of beans and rice as well as sweet plantains which were good. Service was excellent. The place was not very busy, but neither was Cabo Rojo. It kind of felt like off season, perhaps it is? Anyways, there aren't a lot of food options in the area. I"m sure you could do worse, maybe you could do better. Maybe we didn't know what to order, but at the same time the waiter seemed to highly endorse our selections so I just don't know.

Tino's is a wonderful traditional Puerto Rican restaurant with amazing mofongo. The service is spectacular and they put nice extra touches on things. Mofongo comes with salad and bread (usually doesn't) and I was even able to order a completely vegetarian authentic version of the dish. Coming here whenever I'm in Cabo Rojo!!

Not good. Sorry. Ordered camerones al aljilllo. Oily and clearly not real butter. After seeing the seafood, my husband decided to order the fried chicken which was actually not bad at all. Side veggies (green beans and carrots) were super mushy and over cooked. Never again.

    Mofongo With seafood mixto. Yes!!

We had a nice meal here. That staff was friendly and the mofongo and asopao was tasty. Nothing too spectacular, but it was a good meal!

Drinks: Half of our group went for The Corazon de Melon a refreshing drink, not too sweet but delicious. I had the "I don't give a cucumber"! My husband commented that his beer was perfectly cold. My hubby had the lobster and he loved it!! It was served with the mushroom. risotto. Two members of our party had the chicken and the other two the steak. They chicken was delicious. I opted for the salad with chicken because the night before I had visited another highly rated restaurant in San German and I was so disappointed by what it passed for a salad there. Roberto's salad had fresh greens and subtle flavors. Chicken cooked and flavored to perfection. It was delicious! We ended with two sample desserts: flan and carrot cake. We left happy and satisfied to get this fine dinning experience in Cabo Rojo. Bravo. Roberto. May you continue to hone n your craft and offer this quality food for years to come.
