What a wonderful find on a cold and windy day! My husband and I treat ourselves to dinner out or takeout on Thursdays and after a long week, we were hankering for comfort food and a movie at home instead of anything fancier out and about. I'd read a post about Marin Comfort Kitchen opening and we were generally delighted by our take-out meal from them.
We enjoyed:
* French Onion Grilled Cheese (exactly what it sounds like and super tasty)
* 12-hour BBQ Braised Pork Grilled Cheese (the BBQ sauce with this was tangy and so good)
* BLT Grilled Cheese with a Kick (sandwich was great; $2 add-on for four tiny slices of pickled jalapeno, on menu as "MCK Jalapeno Garlic Pickles," was a bit of a let-down)
* Caprese Salad (three thick slices of tomato plus burrata and a couple of basil leaves; seemed overpriced at $17, but ingredient quality was good)
Sandwiches held up surprisingly well, even after the 20 minute drive between the restaurant and our house, and I can only imagine they'd be even more delicious if we got to them right off the griddle.
Nothing revolutionary here, but a really cozy meal; especially when we're trying to find something all ages will enjoy, we'll be back again. read more
