The school looks really nice from the outside, the only place I really speak on is the gymnasium since that's where we spent the most time. The gym is really nice, the bleachers are the hard plastic and were the school colors and spelled out Cats in yellow. Nice touch. The auxiliary gym was hot and nothing to call home about but it served its purpose. I would say the lady they had cleaning worked her heart out because it was so many people in and out of the gym it was just overwhelming for her. She did a great job keeping everything clean.

I saw brass knuckles more than a couple times. This is in the suburbs. This is in a community where families are above average in income. They also bring in kids from smaller communities. Kids can fight. My mom is still friends with the a teacher that was here when I went. She was nice. She left East Cobb because there was so much fighting. She had to pull snarling brats off of another all the time. She started to feel uncomfortable even though she'd been at the school for a long time. She likes where she is now much better. I did not like East Cobb. The gym teachers were all supreme dicks. One of them got hit in the face with a golf club once. He was a sassy dude and he one time gave me 3 detentions because I was running in the gym. If I let my kid go here it would only be because I'd want him/her to see how jacked people can be. I would worry about him/her all day while he/she was at school. I would probably prefer he/she went somewhere else. Behind the school there are fields and kudzu.

The education Mr Barrera provides to his students is comparable to the education I received in an International Private school, he brought history to life right from his world literature class and changed our minds in the most positive ways with open ended class discussions about worldly issues, allowing students from different backgrounds to share their thoughts and ideas in a safe space for us to create a better common understanding of each other. It is teachers like him in Georgia who will positively change and enlighten future generations of adults to come. He teaches his students patience, respect, compassion of others, and understanding by treating them with such. He saw every student as an individual with a future and will do whatever he can to help his students get there, rather it's help with your college essays, write a college recommendation letter, or just be the one person who believes in you when nobody else does.

She also reported me to the office more times when I could count. The only reason I finished that class with an A is becuse she couldn't fail me without proof, and I did all my work. The chorus teacher verbally abuses kids to tears, the band directors make the band kids stand in the sun till they PASS OUT, and racism runs rampant among teachers and students. I can't tell you if the other schools in the area are better, but the one good thing I can say about this place is that there isn't much open and outward bullying, and most students respect one another. If you ask any student at this school, they will either say they hate this place or they will lie out of fear. ​

So, let me be purely subjective and biased about this lovely gem in the woods. During the three years of my enrollment from 1998 to 2001 the teachers here had raised me from an ESL nonnative speaker with promise into a kind of local leader in the subjects of my choice (science and math). The teachers were all competent or excellent, and with some special teachers' dedications to after-school activities (like academic bowl / science club / math club) and the AP curriculum (which can earn you college credits) I was able to find my passion and later my choice of university. It's sad to hear that some of my favorite teachers have since retired including Mrs. Spear and Mrs. Dutter. A shout out to Rowdy Roty if you know what I mean. Oh, and their lunch was always terrible. 2 stars at most.
