So, let me be purely subjective and biased about this lovely gem in the woods. During the three years of my enrollment from 1998 to 2001 the teachers here had raised me from an ESL nonnative speaker with promise into a kind of local leader in the subjects of my choice (science and math). The teachers were all competent or excellent, and with some special teachers' dedications to after-school activities (like academic bowl / science club / math club) and the AP curriculum (which can earn you college credits) I was able to find my passion and later my choice of university. It's sad to hear that some of my favorite teachers have since retired including Mrs. Spear and Mrs. Dutter. A shout out to Rowdy Roty if you know what I mean. Mornings are great because he can not wait to get to school. The staff is amazing and attentive. He is starting basic math already and has a pretty good Spanish vocabulary. The stands were the basic metal bleacher (bring your own seat cushion!), there were two nice additions. The first was that there were backs on the bleachers! You don't have to sit slumped over. You can actually lean back against a backrest. The second (and nicest) surprise was that the stands were covered! No worries of sun or rain while watching the game. EXCELLENT!! The field was well maintained. Grounds crew was hustling throughout the game to keep it in good condition. Restrooms were clean and easily accessed. Snack bar was available on a Monday evening game and prices were very fair. Cheeseburger, and order of tasty fries and a bottle of water for under $5. Every person I met was friendly and a credit to MHS. Two thumbs up!! p.s. We won! :)
