All the teachers at Brumby are clearly dedicated and love their jobs and the kids they work with. Mr. Branche, Mrs. Clark, Coach Cosgrove, Mrs. Bloodworth to name just a few have made my daughter feel welcomed and like she belongs. My daughter goes to school every day excited to learn, be with her classmates and feel the encouragement of her teachers! Under the news leadership, Principal Alford, there is a vibrancy, passion and energy that is so refreshing and gives me hope for the future of all that attend Brumby. Finally, the community is so supportive! The diversity at this school is wonderful to experience and gives my daughter a very unique experience that will help her learn how to engage with people from any different cultures in the world. read more

Great school. Staff very personable. No homework school and the school hosts lots of engaging and fun events for the kids.

I've had my 3 kids in this school since 2016 and have had a great experience. They've made great friendships, received a great education and we've loved the teachers. The staff are very helpful and make it a great place to learn and grow. read more

ZERO stars. Specifically Rhyann Moore-Pate, "principal" Sandra Alford, Cobb district main office registrar. Was very skeptical of Brumby school based on online reviews-google, niche, great. The main office personnel do not care about children. Very rude and inconsiderate - per reviews and I witnessed this in person. Some lady still wearing a gold face mask rolled her eyes and scolded the children trying to come in school through the wrong door. They left my small child and i for 30 min just unattended on first day. Due to Rhyann not so smart thinking, My child was removed after her first day of 2nd grade bc of their complete incompetence. Complete "Tool" Rhyann said "I didn't check" and addresses your child as "your student". She Has zero self awareness. Sandra Alford didn't bother to reply to my email. Hence the very low math and reading proficiency there. Complete wack jobs and very low class. Do not leave your beautiful children with these idiots! read more

My son transferred to Brumby's first grade for the 2019-2020 school year. I have nothing but great appreciation for the high level of security that the school follows to ensure the children's safety. However, I remain disappointed and dismayed by the front office staff. When you walk into that office; and this was my 3rd visit, you can feel the total lack of a being welcome. Those ladies never smile and they speak to you as though you just interrupted their lunch for the second time or something. This visit to the school was to have lunch with my son. Of course, the cafeteria is buzzing and the kids, for the most part, are talking more than they are eating, but it is a lunch-break and one of the best times instead of recess for them to squeeze in some socialization with classmates. To my disappointment in the 20-25 minute lunchtime as I sat encouraging my son's classmates not to waste and while enjoying their conversation I could not help but be distracted by the inappropriate way and tones being used by some of the adults in the room. A foreign-speaking blondish lady pointing and telling a child who was laughing to stop laughing so loud and to be quiet. Sitting one table away I could not see how she singled him out as laughing too loud. Then she walked to another table and said something too another child that turned several smiles upside down. There was also a teacher yelling at a child who spilled her milk on the table, and then another teacher, telling some of her class they had to eat in silence because they were talking too much. These weren't just reprimands they were angry and intimidating. The tones being used by these adults was what initially grabbed my attention. I cannot say what prompted the degree of angry responses from these people, I was just taken back by how unkind and embarrassing; instead of educational, those moments were for those children. Then lunch was over, and there at the end of the table with a trash can was a woman yelling at the kids, "Close your milk cartons, clean up your mess and get going". I thought to hurry and help some of the children as she continued to yell "get Movin!". I left the school a little annoyed. I did not enjoy lunch with my son as much as I should have; thinking about his possible experiences with people who work around children who really are not happy doing so. Knowing how to talk to kids comes naturally to someone who enjoys doing so, even in their worst moments. The first welcoming sentiment should come from the front office. Walking into a welcoming environment where you feel your child is being kept safe should also feel like your child is being kept sound. Instead, you have to wonder how far this unwelcoming front office and first stop into this environment affects the rest of the school. The cafeteria where order should be maintained but also where there should be a shared understanding that children will socialize while eating, seemed more like a few teachers and cafeteria workers were just doing a job the only way someone could, who does not really care to be around children. It's like they defensively expect the worst from the children so they talk to them as if to be prepared for the worst. My son really likes his teachers. if not for that I would worry about what kind of experiences he is having in a school where at least two places where it should be welcoming and social have the potential to be quite the opposite because of adults. I have to wonder, are there any more places like that whereas a visiting parent I would not readily see. My last visit was a little less than a month into the school year and I hope to learn that the good outweighs the bothersome. I am giving 2 stars in my review because if nothing else I feel my child; who is excited to talk to me about his school days and teachers appears happy to be there. read more

The school itself is alright/ the exception of my Kindergardner not having homework. My review is more about the ASP program which is HORRIBLE! The Director has no tolerance for kids that are not PERFECT ALL the time! She is very rude, inoatient,disrespectful & uncaring. The teachers/sitters have no tolerance for a non PERFECT child as well. So parents before you send your kid there even though it is the cheaper option, find out the ratio of kids being "withdrawn" from the ASP program within a school year. read more

Thankfully my child doesn't attend this retched school because I was able to have them transferred prior to the start of the year. Before doing so, I scheduled a tour with the school to make sure it was a good fit-location is very convenient to home/work. I'm a very observant person so when I explicitly asked about safety and security of the school (which I was told all doors except the front are locked all day) and found it odd that what I was told just didn't line up with what I was seeing (we galavanted between buildings with noaccess key etc). Some teachers were lining kids up in the halls to take them toanother class and I noticed how rude some were to the kids. There were people in the cafeteria (cleaning crew? who knows..) but they were just walking around on cell phones not paying attention to the kids nearly walking into us. Pair that with being told I can't ccompany my child to the door of their class after the first week of school I had it. This isn't the place for us. read more

Horrible is an understatement this school desires nothing less than no star. I move to cobb county over the summer of 2015 which means my kids started school in the fall worst decision ever. That school should be close . Omg it's was so bad I took my kids out n had to transfer them back to Nashville with my mom til I could do research to find a better school. I asked n asked the teacher what was they working n never got a reply until went to the school only for her to send me some crap offline on top of this place being dirty...... Close this place they r not teaching the kids nothing.. read more
