I did a lot of research regarding local preschools, and Child's Play was the clear winner for us! The cost is very affordable (and listed on their website, I believe). Hours are 9am-1pm with some additional before and after care options (offered separately not by the school). Drop-off and pick-up lines are very quick and smooth, especially compared to the stressful situations that I observe at other local preschools. The director is very warm and friendly. The school is faith-based with weekly chapel. COVID policies are either in line or slightly more laidback than other preschools / childcare locally. Children are not required to wear masks at any age. Teachers do not wear masks in the classroom, but some choose to wear masks when aiding the children in and out of cars in the drop-off and pick-up line. I have not personally heard of any COVID cases at the school this school year (2020-2021). I believe children can start as young as 18-24 months and stay until kindergarten. If you choose to hold back your child from K5, note that there is not a K5 transitional program but they can repeat the K4 curriculum. We have been very pleased with Child's Play and would recommend the program to anyone!

Our daughter is taking AP English Literature this coming semester. She is graduating this May. She is applying to colleges such as Agnes Scott, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, Amherst, Connecticut College, Ursinius, Wheaton, Clark, Bennington, Bard, Dickinson, Muhlenberg, and Juniata for example. The dean of the high school is very supportive, and has shared with us she feels our daughter is well prepared for college. We trust the dean's assessment and are forever grateful For the exceptional education our daughter has received over the last two years.

Of course this school has the standard KRK curriculum but what it has to differentiate itself is heart & investment, i.e. Splash pad (2x a week in the summer = more work for the teachers but they believe it's worth it!), spring and fall festivals (the whole place turns into a giant carnival and it's all from the owners pockets), weekly magic man/ music enrichment / gym activities (also part of your tuition), spring and winter performances - real lights, choreography, music and performance by our little ones! The teachers here mostly have at least 5-10 years of service. That should speak volumes. In fact, because hiring is never perfect, when there were concerns, I have seen this team all hands on deck to address it effectively. So.... While nothing replaces personal mom/dad/family stay at home care and while there are usually up to 20 kids per class (3 teachers), we have been overjoyed with the partnership we've built with this team and hope to continue the trend!! 2 thumbs up :-)

One afternoon I saw a truck of guys ride into the senior parking lot holding guns. Wheeler High school is often pronounced 'WILLER HI'. On their announcement board that sits in front of the school it currently says that they were just ranked in the top 5% of all national high schools by Newsweek. I wonder how many schools are in the top 5% of all national high schools. I had some memorable teachers here. Mr Carter Ms Taaffe Ms Carter Ms Frazer. I felt like I got a good learnin' here even though I slept through a lot of my classes. High school. I would not like to go back to high school but often I dream I am and it feels like I've been fed taco love boat again and again and again. Nowadays WILLER is much bigger than it used to be. I must say there are several entrances but they only had the top entrance open...I'm thinking to ensure payment. The bad thing is if there are older ppl in attendance (such as my grandma) then that would have been a problem (she didn't come to that particular game). Anyway, for some reason we always got booked to play in the auxiliary gym and it's always hot. My recommendation is to wear tank tops and shorts due to the lack of air conditioning. My son attended Eastminster Preschool for about 2 months before I pulled him and moved him elsewhere. When he started at the school, he was just under 2 years old. I was shocked when about 2 weeks after being at the school I received an email describing all of the things that my child was doing wrong. He couldn't unpack and hang up his backpack, walk in a line, sit at a table and do centers, and the list went on. The email was sent to me as though my less than 2 year old child should already know how to do all of this. As a teacher and mom, I was very aware that these expectations of a less than 2 year old, especially a boy, were incredibly ridiculous. It made me feel as though his teacher knew very little about the developmental stages of children, and the director seemed to have no issue with this at all. I felt as though my little boy was being treated like a problem child, when I knew that he was a perfectly normal toddler boy. With that being said, this is not the only instance I have heard of boys being treated like problems at this preschool. I have two other friends who had similar experiences with their sons, and they were both dismissed and treated as though normal, developmentally appropriate boy behavior is actually misbehavior. If you have a well-behaved little girl, I'm sure she will do just fine here...but as for little boys, I would think twice before sending them here.

I do not doubt she will carry these principles into her life when she graduates. , Academically, under the direction of the counselor, Ms. Hood, the seniors receive incredible scholarships.
