Great school. Engaged teachers & admin staff. Only thing missing? More extracurricular activities that aren't sports. :)

My children have known no other school throughout their education, and they are thriving at Lyndon…read more Is it always perfect? Nope, but that is not a realistic goal for anything in life. My children don't even know how lucky they are to get daily foreign language classes, an entire staff that knows them by name, on-campus tutoring (if needed), and all the individualized attention they could ever want! As a parent, I'm obviously thrilled with the advanced curriculum, something my children see as the norm because it's all they've known. But just as important is what they DON'T experience: phone distractions, fashion-comparison pressures, classroom behavior disruptions that hinder learning, overcrowded spaces, or the risk of getting lost in the crowd. It makes me so happy that this is the schooling that they get to experience. *I read a review mentioning that funds weren't used for front door safety, but we've actually had a new front door code access system all year!

If transparency, honesty, accountability and safety are expectations you have in a school for your…read morechildren, Lyndon is probably not what you are looking for in a school. Our family attended for four years (2021-2025) and observed increasing concerns, especially with the administration run by the Murdock family. Key issues of growing concerns included: -High teacher turnover, dismissed by the administration as normal but found to be worse than other schools. -Misuse or unexplained use of fundraiser money, particularly for promised security upgrades that were never completed (e.g., a buzz-in front door system). -Negligence with bullying, where a known student repeatedly bullied others and was only expelled after a serious incident, despite parent complaints. -Lack of leadership accountability, as all administrative roles and the board are filled by family members, leaving no room for independent oversight or appeals. I can't speak to non-returning students and families for other grades, but can say that with many of the parents in our child's grade that nearly HALF (of the now 3rd grade), including their older and younger siblings in other grades, left after the 2024-2025 school year due to these ongoing concerns.

Living Science isn't just a school--it's a family. I've had children here for nine years and have…read morebeen both a parent and a teacher. The teachers truly care, the hands-on learning makes every subject come alive, and the Christ-centered environment shapes both hearts and minds. From science summaries to presentations, students are constantly learning how to think, communicate, and grow. The retreats create the kind of memories that stick with you forever. Is LS perfect? No, but no school is. What makes it special is the strong community, where parents, teachers, and students support and encourage each other every step of the way. If you're looking for a school that feels like home, this is it.

I debated writing a new review about Living Science, but I definitely think other families should…read moreknow the truth before making a decision to come to this school. First, I want to start with the positive. Some of the teachers were amazing. Mrs. Hughes who taught math made that subject so much easier and fun to learn. Dr. Lusk who taught anatomy also made science fun. In middle school, I thoroughly enjoyed the expeditions we went on. I think that this school did prepare me for college (ie, learning how to manage time wisely, completing assignments throughout the week instead of each day, etc.) I truly believe at the beginning the D's had the best interest of all their students. However, this school over time became very toxic. I know a lot of people, including myself, that struggled with their self esteem and learning to think and speak for themselves. Some people, like myself, went to therapy for years to try and correct the way we viewed ourselves. Here are just a few incidents that I experienced at this school. I was apart of the leadership team "servant leader". I was so excited to be apart of a group and to grow my relationship with the Lord. However, that all changed when Living Science started Paraguay trips. They would pick the most popular students to go. I didn't care to be popular, however, the way that the D's went about these trips made these students almost untouchable and that they could do nothing wrong in their eyes. I was on "Living Sound" for years. Charmaine Landrum (the D's daughter) decided to have "tryouts". Out of all the original people and the people the tried out I was the ONLY one who didn't make it. It became more of a popularity contest than a way to worship the Lord. The D's would make students not work together but against one another. This was particularly prevalent during my senior year. Instead of it being an exciting time because we were all seniors, it was hell. Certain students were told that they were the "problem" when it was clearly the toxic environment they were creating with their leadership program. Some servant leaders who had waited to lead an expedition group for years, were never allowed to do so or given that chance. This was due to the fact that the D's did not like them and put them on the "bad" list. I know the rule of dating as a servant leaders has supposedly changed, however, again if you were a popular student you were allowed to date and if you were on their "bad" list you weren't allowed to date. Students would get into trouble speaking out about it. I was fat shamed, by being told my pants are too tight when I had chronic medical conditions and was already struggling with the way I looked. I was told I wouldn't make it in college because I talked to my mom on the phone every day. I can proudly say that I indeed made it through college with honors of magna cum laude. Another incident occurred during a banquet. The banquets were supposed to be a time to celebrate and have fun with your classmates, however, instead they would have multiple people speak for 45 minutes. Of course, all students got bored and started talking quietly. Certain students that talked, had to write apology letters to the person speaking and others did not. Those students had emails sent to their parents saying how "disrespectful" their child was during the banquet. When I was graduating, the D's found out that my biological family was famous. Mrs. D asked me to get one of my biological members to speak at the graduation. I truly believe, I was given a B in servant leader because I told her no. No one had even heard of anyone getting a B in servant leader before. The worst part is that this didn't end here. One of their former students passed away in a horrific accident. Instead of asking what they could do to help, the sign language teacher decided that she wanted to be apart of the students funeral. I told that teacher no, not to be mean, but because that is not what the family wished for. She kept saying this student would like the sign language performance to be apart of her funeral. They also implemented a scholarship in honor of her. While, I think a scholarship is a great idea, the intention behind it was not great and was meant to gain attention with the public eye. Before this student passed away she also struggled at Living Science and we had several discussions about struggling to fit in. Again, I do think that the D's had good intentions when they first started Living Science, however, as stated before it became a toxic environment for a lot of students. I do pray that this school has changed their approach when it comes to their students and that they fixed what was broken with their system.

I know the place can become dirty from games on Friday night but sometimes my son goes to train on a Monday or Tuesday and it looks as if it was right after the game. Now I can't help it that much but maybe some staff to clean up would help. Overall good place to train and good school but just a bit dirty.

I went to this school, and I can safely say this place was awful. The teachers have no respect for…read morethe students, not even the quiet kids who patently do their work. The school lies to the kids and says stuff like "you must have at minimum 7 AP classes to graduate" when that is frankly bullshit, and multiple of the teachers ignore students with IEP's. A math teacher at this school who I will call "Mrs. Brunch" took me into the hallway every single day, sophomore year, to demand I apologize to her for no reason and scream I'm wasting class time. She sent my mother 4 emails when I had the hiccups in her class stating "i was purposly disruptive" and demanded I get my meds changed becuse "they were causing my hiccups." She also reported me to the office more times when I could count. The only reason I finished that class with an A is becuse she couldn't fail me without proof, and I did all my work. The chorus teacher verbally abuses kids to tears, the band directors make the band kids stand in the sun till they PASS OUT, and racism runs rampant among teachers and students. I can't tell you if the other schools in the area are better, but the one good thing I can say about this place is that there isn't much open and outward bullying, and most students respect one another. If you ask any student at this school, they will either say they hate this place or they will lie out of fear.
