My children don't even know how lucky they are to get daily foreign language classes, an entire staff that knows them by name, on-campus tutoring (if needed), and all the individualized attention they could ever want! As a parent, I'm obviously thrilled with the advanced curriculum, something my children see as the norm because it's all they've known. But just as important is what they DON'T experience: phone distractions, fashion-comparison pressures, classroom behavior disruptions that hinder learning, overcrowded spaces, or the risk of getting lost in the crowd. It makes me so happy that this is the schooling that they get to experience. *I read a review mentioning that funds weren't used for front door safety, but we've actually had a new front door code access system all year!

Our family attended for four years (2021-2025) and observed increasing concerns, especially with the administration run by the Murdock family. Key issues of growing concerns included: -High teacher turnover, dismissed by the administration as normal but found to be worse than other schools. -Misuse or unexplained use of fundraiser money, particularly for promised security upgrades that were never completed (e.g., a buzz-in front door system). -Negligence with bullying, where a known student repeatedly bullied others and was only expelled after a serious incident, despite parent complaints. -Lack of leadership accountability, as all administrative roles and the board are filled by family members, leaving no room for independent oversight or appeals. I can't speak to non-returning students and families for other grades, but can say that with many of the parents in our child's grade that nearly HALF (of the now 3rd grade), including their older and younger siblings in other grades, left after the 2024-2025 school year due to these ongoing concerns.

The teachers truly care, the hands-on learning makes every subject come alive, and the Christ-centered environment shapes both hearts and minds. From science summaries to presentations, students are constantly learning how to think, communicate, and grow. The retreats create the kind of memories that stick with you forever. Is LS perfect? No, but no school is. What makes it special is the strong community, where parents, teachers, and students support and encourage each other every step of the way. If you're looking for a school that feels like home, this is it.

I am devoted Christian and a parent to three children myself. I am also homeschooling them. I understand the desire to find a Christian setting that will provide small class sizes and allow for heavy parental involvement. Living Science is not that school for many reasons. First, Mr. and Mrs. D (Davis, the principals) promote the unorthodox theology that a person's beliefs about Genesis 1-3 (specifically, the creation of the world) directly impact that person's salvation. Second, their treatment of students and discussion of faith is highly legalistic and harmful to a person having a relationship with Jesus. Their root message to parents and students was that kids are fundamentally bad, and that being a Christian means you are dead ("I have been crucified with Christ") and could not have your own opinions - I was told this directly by Mrs. Davis while walking on a beach. Third, the Davises even came between me and my parents, telling us differing things about each other and attempting to tell them that they knew me better than my parents. To this day my parents, including my mother who taught at the school, deeply regret our time there. Fourth, the structure of the student leadership team around the Davises dances dangerously near to cult behavior. Judging by the BITE model of control (behavioral, informational, thought, and emotional control), I would classify them as displaying disturbing cultish tendencies. I have spent the last 15 years working through the emotional and spiritual damage inflicted by Living Science. There was so much I enjoyed about the trips and the hands-on science, but it is overshadowed by the pain and manipulation I experienced. I beg of you, as a former student, a homeschooling parent, and a believer in Christ, do not send your children to this school. There are better alternatives. The Davises, while I believe well-meaning in the beginning, do not provide a safe environment for spiritual or academic development.
