We enjoy going to Marie's, not only for their pizza and other Italian food, but, oddly enough, for the very best hamburgers in the whole area! 1/2 pound of great ground beef, which the two of us usually carry in half to eat, thereby cutting in half the cost of our dinner. These days we are ordering takeout. And it is as good as the dine-in food. However, today we were sorely disappointed. When we arrived to pick up our order, not one single employee was wearing a mask, including the cashier. Also, because Marie's makes it possible to see into the kitchen through a very large picture window, we could see that, in the very busy kitchen, not one single employee there was wearing a mask either, whether working at the stove, or doing other chores. This experience gives us pause. We want to patronize A restaurant that cares about its customers enough to wear masks. If they do not care about us that much, we will take our business elsewhere. My 76 year old grandparents went there to eat and after my grandpa questioned the manager because they over charged him, 2 of their employees got in his face and yelled at him and one of them through him through the front door and he landed on his back. Danielle and I had a delicious dinner last night at Marie's. We each ordered a spaghetti dinner - mine with meatballs. 3 weeks ago we'd had dinner at Marie's and I'd also decided a simple spaghetti dinner that night, too. It was so good (except for one of the 2 meatballs - it tasted weird to me) I had spaghetti again the next night at Joe's Deli. Sadly, it wasn't as good there. Since then, I'd been reliving the spaghetti at Marie's over and over again in my head - mostly the incredible, zesty sauce. So, when Danielle suggested it for dinner last night, I jumped at the opportunity to go to Marie's for that spaghetti. It was just as good - better, in fact, because both meatballs were delicious. Also helping the experience was our server - Terry. One of the worst aspects of Marie's has always been the service. Read the reviews. It always comes up. Maybe management has done something different. I don't know. Terry was, unquestionably, the best server we've ever had there. He was polite and just attentive enough. When our breadsticks were delivered, they were hard as a rock. It happens. We asked Terry for new ones. No problem. In fact, whenever we had any request, no problem. And, it looked like Terry was also tending bar so that was doubly impressive. Thanks Terry. Service like that has been unusual at Marie's and is just what customers want and expect. That kind of service plus the delicious food will keep us coming back to Marie's for years to come. read more

Ordered personal pizza , 40 minutes later still no pizza , had to flag down waitress who acted as if she couldn't see me looking for her, she checks and informs pizza was delivered to a different table . I would think the waitress would have seen a simple personal pizza not delivered 40 minutes later and check up on it. Didn't offer an apology or credit to bill (ordered salad as well). I had the Alfredo sauce which was pretty good, not too heavy. It was lacking a bit in flavor but overall pretty good. The restaurant was a bit more casual than I was expecting but I was fine with it. Everything was very clean. The best part of my experience was my waitress though. I believe her name was Madison. She was literally the most efficient waitress I've ever had anywhere. She was extremely quick with everything, anticipated all my needs, got my order 100% accurate and was very friendly without being overbearing. A nice Italian restaurant in our local community. It would be nice if they made their own sauces and handmade their chicken. But it's always busy and the service is always good, they have a lot of staff. Their pizza is really good, however the sausage is way too spicy I wish they would put that on the menu. Marie's has good food. It's mainly Italian food. It is a local legend crawling it's way up from the south side to its current location. The owner is friendly and has an awesome Italian gray suit! (Yes that counts for a couple points!) the burgers are huge. They have 3 beers on tap - that needs improved. read more

Been to Marie's many times. The Good = pizza is usually spot on. The Bad = when calling, they are sharp and on the verge of being rude. I understand you may be busy, but customer service is key, and with the phone call being the first contact, you're not setting a great tone. On the last visit (09/26/20) no one was wearing a mask. They have a sign up when picking up that gives a half dozen reason why their employee's don't need them. I was going to take a picture of it because the list is quite laughable. Never got to the food. The manager at night ensured I will never spend a dime at this restaurant. This place has an inaccurate menu linked on their FB paged that is not even close to the actual prices. This was not from a post. This was the link that is supplied by an administrator of the page which means Marie's is responsible for providing bad information. When I brought this to the mgr attention I didn't get an apology or an agreeable solution I got told thing like we are responsible for online menus (yes you are when your business links it on your page), hey we are operating in the red ( not my fault your business made a mistake it's your responsibility to take accountability and guess what a lot of families coming in are operating in the red), and last his attitude was I was making it up or trying to get over him! His solution was pay it or get a refund! So I guess they must not be too much in the "red" if they are willing to let 107 dollars of food go back to the kitchen! The difference in the menu I was looking at and the price when I got there was about 60 bucks! Now I'm not hard to get along with and all he had to say was man I'm really sorry about we take care of that and get the link taken down I cannot match those prices but I can knock off 10% or get you a free pizza on your next order for the trouble! Nope not even close! He then was displease with giving me a refund I said "if you were me and standing over here you wouldn't be happy. You offered no solutions. He said I did. I told him he was a f@&$ing liar." I won't hide my wrong doing because I'm m accountable for my bad moves in life. As for Marie's your manager/owner needs a new job or needs to retire! One of my all time favorites has seemed to take a break from the high standard they have held for so long. Last two times we're just terrible. I thought it was just a one off and then ordered again and was very dissatisfied with all aspects of their effort. It'll be sometime before I give them another shot. It was just a lazy facsimile of what I've come to expect over many years. Stingy on the sauce cheese and toppings. Ok, so mistakes happen. Management did not go out of their way to make it right. We drove up from Columbus to celebrate a birthday at our favorite pizza place, only to have our pizza order overlooked. Everyone else's food came, pizza did not. When we finally did get our pizza, everyone else at the table was done with their meal. Management only did a 40% discount, and only on the pizza. I come here for lunch occasionally and it's all you can eat pizza, wings, and pasta. Worth the price and it's pretty good. They usually have like 4 different pizzas. Watch out for feathers on the wings though. They don't really clean them that well before tossing them into the fryer. My guess is they don't clean them at all because the feathers are like, right there. read more

I've been going to Marie's ever since it opened in 1969. I almost always got take out pizza from the old place down on Main St. But there decision to leave the ovens, that had so wonderfully served them for years, was a big mistake. The pizza has never been the same. Don't get me wrong, their pizza is still good, though usually undercooked, but just not the same. I've found that it's much better the next day, re-heated in the oven. The biggest problem I have with this restaurant is the service. You will notice that half the reviewers talk about poor service. BELIEVE THEM! I went the other night and was expecting mediocre service. That's what I got, at best. Took someone almost 15 minutes to come and take a drink order. As always, we ordered pizza. It came out in an acceptable time and was good. Even though we ordered it 'we'll done', it was still somewhat undercooked. But I noticed that when out pizza came that the couple that was sitting next to us were glaring at us. Both of them had empty beverage glasses in front of them. They were like that when we arrived. Wow! The negative reviews about this place surprise me! I can't help but think everyone should have a glass of wine, relax, and not treat eating out as an Olympic Sport. We stopped at Marie's for the first time last night. Although I prefer a more romantic atmosphere (less light, more cozy, less "early-bird special/senior menu" vibe) the greeting we received was warm and friendly. Our waitress was Melissa and she was friendly and bubbly. We asked to enjoy our cocktails prior to ordering our dinners and she complied. She asked us to place our menus in a certain position on the table so that she knew when we were ready to order - she didn't want to interrupt our conversation. We ordered chicken and rice soup, a chicken dinner with jo-jos (amazing!), and a large supreme pizza with extra cheese. Our food was DELICIOUS! We even got to try their spaghetti sauce because they brought us complimentary garlic cheese bread sticks with dipping sauce. Everything was wonderful! At one point during the evening a young bus boy stopped at the table and apologized for being too loud during a conversation he was having at the drink station (we were seated adjacent to the drink/napkin/plate/silverware station). The waiters' conversation hadn't disburbed our dinner at all but I was impressed by his manners! The wine and beer list are respectable for a "family restaurant". I had Malbec which was moderately priced and my fiance had a Samuel Adams Oktoberfest on draft. Nice selection of wine and beers. I peered into the bar area on the way out and it is as brightly lit as the restaurant - not as cozy as one would hope. The prices were on par with nicer dining establishments. Two different occasions. I have heard remarkable things about their pizza but will never try it. First time I went there, we dined in. Facility was beautiful. Staff- drag. Not so impressive. Took our order, dropped off our food and forgot about us. No, "how is your meal?" Or "do you need a refill?" Which would have been great to ask because we did need a refill and the food was awful. I got eggplant parm- the veggies were frost bitten and the eggplant tasted like stouffers. Not fresh. Horrible. Let it go- and a week later decided to call in a pick up order of pizza. Lady answers the phone like she's inconvenienced. "Yeah what do you want?" And when she couldn't hear me, she continuously screamed "what?!!!" There were 5 of us that went there last night. 3 of us were sat right away. Megan our server got our drink order right away. The other two showed up 5 min later. It took 15 min for her to come get their drink order. At that time we went a head and ordered our food also. Their drinks never came. When food runner Dylan brought out our bread he finally got their drinks. Megan never came back to our table. We had to ask one of the dishwashers to get her to get our bills. In my opinion they did not have enough servers on . Our server Megan was inside and outside. All of us girls have worked or work in the restaurant business as servers. The pizza here is excellent. Probably the best pizza in Wadsworth. The salad and "antipasto" is terrible, overpriced, and probably the worst in Ohio. We ordered pizza for a large family over the holidays; in the order we included two of "Marie's Signature Salad" ($10 each), an additional side salad ($6), and the "antipasto" ($12.50). Marie's so-called signature salad was nothing more than iceburg lettuce and a few small ingredients that didn't seem very fresh. The "antipasto" was iceburg lettuce with a couple slices of cheap ham and pepperoni thrown on top. All together, the salads were almost $40: we ended throwing out 90 percent of it. Big disappointment. Thankfully, the pizza was fantastic, hence the three-star review. Come here for the pizza, and the pizza only. Management, if you're reading this, please reform your salads. I've been to Marie's a few times, meeting up with friends. The food as typically been OK and the service good. That was true until last Monday. I made the mistake of ordering the 'Shrimp Scampi with Pasta" which was the worst. The angel hair pasta was over cooked to the point that it was the size of spaghetti. The modest amount of shrimp was clearly of the precooked variety that has simply been warmed up. And as for the sauce and spices, well there really wasn't any. I've have said something to our waitress but she was no where to be found. And about the service. After taking our orders, the waitress vanished for the most part. When she did return, she presented us were our checks - not bothering to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. Still, we did manage to request the coffee before she vanished for another 10 minutes or so. At that point, we pointed out that we were still waiting for the coffee. A while later, we got our coffee and NEW, increased checks. Fortunately, Wadsworth has plenty of other restaurants - as Marie's won't be on our list of places to visit. read more

Spent $43.00 on Carry Out Friday 1-5-2017 Bought Sausage Sandwich for dinner Friday Night, it was still pinkish, Microwaved it a little longer. Was still tasty. Saturday night sometime after Midnight I heated up the Meatball Sandwich, ate part of it, then found a long black hair in it. Sunday I called Maris's to inform the manager, and ask for my money back on the 1 sandwich, Lora who answered the phone was very rude, and said the managers were too busy to talk to me.
