Marie was a real pro all around as our buyers' agent. I had been doing market research during the recession for over a year, and my husband and I had several home purchases and sales in personal experience. The time was right, it was a competitive market with very little inventory, and we needed a local area specialist. I cold called her about a listing that seemed underpriced in the neighborhood where we knew we wanted to own. Marie was the agent, and the property went into dozens of overbids. Not my imagination, the market was heating up, and Marie had the listing in our neighborhood. She wasn't a fake 'area specialist', she was already in the neighborhood.
She made time in her busy schedule that day to introduce ourselves to each other. She was methodical, she listened, she triangulated our male and female wish-lists, and we started to look at properties. We didn't realize it until ten properties later, but the first house was the house we ended up buying, in a multiple-bid scenario. She was right on target! She was very patient, professional, punctual, pro-active and understanding. We worked out an unconventional contract that took advantage of our market position, and it was a win/win with the sellers as well.
My son was able to negotiate conveyance of the trampoline, because she listened when his 5-year-old self came to the contract negotiations. As a true local, she had a relationship with the listing agent which worked to our advantage, and the transfer was very smooth. I really enjoyed working with Marie, and I would give her the highest recommendation in any future transaction. We told her up front that we are not the easiest perfectionists to work with! However, we are so happy with our house, I don't see us getting in the market again unless it's buying a rental property. Best of luck, Marie, keep up the good work! read more
